- DRX Analysis with Example. What is DTx in LTE? : To save this kind of battery consumption, in LTE there's a special mechanism called Discontinuous Reception/Transmission DTx & DRx. It means that UE is in Sleeping Mode most of the time and only periodically ”Wake up” to receive or transmit the data.
Really appreciate with the examples and pictorial diagrams, It cleared the concepts rather than going into some confusing aspects of theoritical, Many Thanks
very nice. keep the good work up
Thnks
u r the best sir
Thank you. Zabrdst hai..good work. Thumbs up..
Thanks man
How we know, when short drx or long drx will work need, which one is good for better? Please reply
Great Gautam Bhai !! Good explanation. Happy to subscribe your channel
what is the use of drxStartoffset, what will UE di in subframe 4
What is the use of drxstartoffset
at 9:10 it must be long drx cycle that must start right? but i heard it as "shortDrxCycle will start".
Thank you So much , Doubt has been cleared, Mac structure pe koi video ha kya
Very good information
Thank you sir for informative video.
Could you please explain timer parameters in case of TDD?
In 3GPP, unit of these timer parameters is defined as psf(number of PDCCH sub-frames).
is it means that UL subframe will be not counted?
Thanks for sharing.
So my query is after every long DRX cycle there will be a short DRX cycle(if configured) then after completing short DRX ( based on cycle timer) it will be back to long DRX and the same pattern will follow. Right?
considering short DRX cycle is configured on both ends(eNB via RrcReconfigReq & UE via FGI bits4 &5), whenever a PDCCH reception occurs during an ongoing On-Time of DRX cycle, this On-Time continues/extends till drx-InactivityTimer expires. After this timer expiry the LongDrxCycle will be started.
Hello sir, Thank you very much for sharing very informative video. I have one doubt here, why there is 1ms gap between expiration of "drx inactivity timer and on duration timer" of short drx cycle? while there is no gap after expiration of long drx cycle, here short drx cycle will start immediately. Please help me to clarify this also.
I think there is no gap between inactivity timer and duration timer...
Thankyou very much for replying sir, can you pls elaborate it more? Actually stilI am not clear about the gap between inactive timer and starting of short drx cycle
@@vikramthakur7913 if Im not wrong, u r talking about sf no:4. If u check the ShortDRXCycle is psf5 which means the next onDurationTimer starts after 5 SFs.
Since there is no data during drxInactivityTimer and no DRX MAC CE is received, UE has to wait for 5 SFs to start the next onDuration Timer (in this case - 0,1,2,3,4 are 5SFs to start the next onDuration).
Hence we see the gap if 1ms. Please correct me if I miss something.
Thank you. You really put lots of efforts.
Question: why subframe 4 was in sleep mode. Shouldn’t a new DRXcycle should start from subframe 4. Thanks in advance for your clarification.
subframe 4 is off duration period
Drxstartoffset = 0
Aye Kab come karta he..batao
Thanks for the video. It was very much informative. May I know how eNB configures UE when to use short DRX cycle and when to use long DRX cycle?? Which all conditions are there???
Sir, Please aap play list ko rearrange kijiye. LTE playlist me bahut saare aise videos hai jiska koi use nahi hai. Unwanted videos ko pls remove kar dijiye
As per explanation shortDRXCycle start only after any PDCCH received and and continue till drxShirtCycleTimer length. It means if there is NO PDCCH receives then LongDRXCycle will repeat every time..?? And ShortDRXCycle will only come after any PDCCH received till that time Long only will keep repeating.
if drx-InactivityTimer expires or a DRX Command MAC control element is received in this subframe:
- if the Short DRX cycle is configured:
- start or restart drxShortCycleTimer;
- use the Short DRX Cycle.
- else:
- use the Long DRX cycle
DRx both parts are good explain sir......
NOW sir CSFB and SRVCC ke uppar. ....
Thnks man...wait
Hello Anand, your videos are very informative. Would you please explain wht we use long DRX cycle.
Thanks
In the last slide, can you let me know why in SFN 0 & 3, the column 4 is vacant, why onDurationTimer is not starting from column 4. Note I am not a expert in this, so trying to understand. :)
Because short drx cycle length is 5ms.and.2ms for on duration
thanks sir
Thanks
thank you sir...,
Thanks shafiullahkhan...
