1986 music-promo-video-clip by Australian artist taken from Australian music program 'rage'. Martin Plaza is one of two frontmen of Mental As Anything.
Loved this song as a kid, there was a time they played it endlessly during after school to programing and it goes without saying that that’s a gold standard mullet.
Never noticed it before, but there is a bit of Orbison in Martin's vocals. This song brings back memories - 16 at the time it was released and well, doing those things a 16 year old does.
Oh....this Australian has this old chestnut down. Great version of the classic Unit 4+2 song. I like the addition of horns with an acoustic guitar. Mental As Anything was a wonderful band and Martin Plaza always asserted himself as lead vocalist.
Original band: 'Unit 4 + 2'. Original release month: February 1965 (according to Wikipedia). Songwriters: Tommy Moeller and Brian Parker (of 'Unit 4+2'). Version first heard by me: this one, by Martin Plaza (back in the 1980s).

Rage.
...Great quality upload.
Great Memories.
"To, me, are sweet as roses in the morning" I adore this song!

Which is ironic, because Mental As Anything covered Roy Orbison's Working For The Man.
This would have been a great song for Elvis .
What’s weird is this is now classed as a Mental as anything song…even though technically it isn’t
rock the mullet lol
Well,well,well..Thanks a ton for posting this song. God Bless.
Tastefully done cover.
I loved this version as a kid
I danced to this song in Alice springs in 1985.

I danced to this song at Saloons in Alice springs in 1987 and loved it
❤
Around 1:49 and elsewhere the loose dangling end of his belt looks very dodgy...
An abomination! Check out the original by Unit 4 + 2, or Kevin Rowland’s 1999 cover..
The Kevin Rowland music video is one of the greatest of all time, and I don't say that rashly.
Martin Plaza perfect. The Mentals can't do anything wrong
