I remember dropping this on the crowd at the Atlantic House in Provincetown at the end of a Labor Day weekend... The regular dj wasn't feeling well that Monday night, and they came and got me in my little cruise bar to play for the big room. Had no idea what anyone else was playing all summer, so I wove a little tapestry of prog house and fun stuff like this bubbling up from the darkness. No Madonna, no Cher, no Britney etc... I so regret I did not record that night. I know I ended cold, turned on the house lights, and the entire dance floor broke into applause. Good Times!
this is an awesome story. It gave me chills. You know you killed it when everyone stays for the lights to come on to give you applause. I bet people still talk about hat night! Cheers!
@@jejaurequi Even had one of my esteemed colleagues from Boston who sat at the end of the bar all night just listening walk up to the booth at the end, and just deadpanned "Gurl. You just rocked my world!" and left before I could even say "Thanks!".
I believe he made it around 2000. First time I heard it was 7:00 am club Exit. LOVED when DJ's redid 80's songs. 80's was the best feel good music era, then probably the 60's. Just my opinion, I am 38.
Best remix ever of this song. Heard it the first time at Southern Decadence in New Orleans many, many years ago and the crowd went wild. Still sends chills down my spine when I hear it. Love it! Thanks for uploading it.
I’ve been looking for a good dance remix of this song ever since I heard it remixed at the Indy Garage Party in 99 or 2000 by DJ Wayne Shepard from Greg’s Our Place in Indianapolis. This ROCKS!! Takes me back to the best time of my life!
David - you should fix your video title here....it isn't Richie Santana at all, he never remixed the song - the correct title is the Shake Rattle & Roll remix (or SRR for short) and remixed by DJ Michael Brown in 1999, there's lots more info here: www.discogs.com/Pat-Benatar-Elton-John-We-Belong-Your-Song/release/1023811
cool thanks man! yeah I think it was one of those things back in the day where a white-label vinyl record would be deliberately "vague" about its origins (of the artist, song, or even remixer) so as not to get in any legal trouble, and when people saw the "SRR" everyone somehow assumed Richie Santana from the initials, and the misinformation just kinda took off from there (these were the days before the internet was so widespread, and fact-checking and stuff)
@@DJMichaelAngelo Thanks. I agree. I recall it as the "white label" version after a friend brought the vinyl home from Los Angeles to Montreal in 1999. I was stunned. It is genius. Do you guys know where I can hear an upload of it with better quality sound? Please :)
@@david.juillet I don't have .wav/lossless files but maybe one of these would be better: www.mediafire.com/folder/kkvny0fiy1hrf/ (the MixShow is my own re-edit, and the "Re-Tooled Mix" is a version Michael Brown did several years after the late 90's, pretty much the same as the original mix, just the levels are a bit different, better EQ'ing, etc.
Back in 2000 when this came out. I was partying in P-Town and me and my boyfriend were getting down to this on the dance floor at the A House good times
This was my "theme song" in Philly back in 2000. Was a promoter on Delaware Ave and every time they played it I made a b-line to the DJ booth to dance my ass off
Well, first off, I LOVE your last name! (Same as mine) :) Thanks for sharing this and uploading it! I have always loved this remix and want to add it to my gym workout mix.
Hi David Garnett my name is Wilkins and i would like to hear on UA-cam PAT BENETAR [WE BELONG] REMIX BY JUNIOR VASQUEZ I just wanna download into my PlayStation 3

This is such a special remix to me and I’d lost it on an old iPhone years ago and couldn’t find it until today. Forever grateful 😇

Keep it simple. Why ruin an amazing song with all that unnecessary garbage.
