    Ezio is my top fave Assassin
    1: he’s voiced by Roger Craig Smith
    2: his arc introduced the double hidden blade and then later the hook blade
    3: he’s had outstanding character development
    4: he’s extremely charming and just full out awesome
    5: his pose is my favorite

    Man, this video really reminded me how much I loved Desmond and the modern day assassins. I know a lot of people really didn't like getting pulled out of the animus and Ezio's story, but the moments where we got to know Desmond, Shaun, Rebecca, and Lucy better as individuals and as a group were what made the series a favorite for me to begin with. Revelations was my favorite of the Ezio trilogy--I can't wait to hear your thoughts on it!

    • @jbcatz5
      @jbcatz5 2 роки тому +7

      At least we got more of Shaun and Rebecca in games like Black Flag (don’t let him make you coffee), Syndicate and Valhalla. Their relationship is low key but so good to see. Shaun even turns up in the audio drama, albeit as an AI based on the character (yes, the voice actor did the role).

    • @allicat994
      @allicat994 2 роки тому +5

      @@jbcatz5 Oh, definitely. Seeing Shaun and Rebecca undercover in Abstergo in Black Flag was a riot. And of course, the first thing I did out of the animus in Valhalla was listen to the audio files of Desmond and them chatting. It was so refreshing to hear the gang back together, even if it was a little morbid knowing what was gonna happen to Desmond a short time after the recordings.
      I didn’t know there was an audio drama! I’ll have to check it out.

      Allie O It’s called Assassin’s Creed Gold, with the historical setting being Isaac Newton (played by Anthony Head) being assigned someone really an Assassin to investigate a counterfeiting ring. The modern day gets decent attention as well, with some characters from other media as prominent characters.

      I took Desmonds parts for granted for sure. The games severely lacked a cohesive story after they ruined it all and he was gone. Really the beginning of the end for this franchise for me was when they stopped caring about a cohesive story tied to modern day. There was a reason they were going back, now its just a mess and shitty games with a shitty story dont go well. You can tell money began to take priority over telling a great story through a love of history.

My mistake was going in knowing nothing about the game's series. This was amended when I played AC 2 and AC. Around the same time I started Revelation. After Ezio and Altair's games, started AC3 and all the following games in the proper chronological order. Good times, when I don't have to worry a thing in the world.

    As a child I was always amazed by the Ezio trilogy. Ezio is the most charming character in gaming history. Also Jesper Kyd should get a statue made in his honor, when I first heard Ezio Family in ACII, I cried in joy for almost 5 minutes straight, I had goosebumps so bad for the first time. Also Laughed so fkn hard on those 2 gag sounds in the Cesare Scenes in the video.

    I really need to replay this game. While Revilations is my favorite of the old guard games as it was my first to own myself, this triology is still amazing. Black and white with its storytelling but still emotive and compelling. And we can only hope Mirage will bring back the flame in the Devs if we put our money where our mouth is to give us what we want. Sure, the RPG style is a different sort of fun, but a return to a good form we missed so much is the new retro the old guard of the Ezio Triology fans need.

    19:25 kinda sad that that's the last time Ezio sees Caterina. If you read her bio, when she rode off, she tried to get her land back but failed and died at some point later on (blanking on the details, sorry 😅)

    Wonderful video as always! It is perfectly understandable why this game is often thought of as the peak of the franchise or certainly one of the top tier if not the best, whilst not my favourite I do love it and really enjoyed your thoughts

    i like that you used Roman Gilded Onyx outfit and never changed it. Wetland Ebony is most popular but i prefer RGO. it really match with Ezio when he stand next to Machiavelli, Machiavelli wears black and red while Ezio wears black and blue. also the gold trim is why i prefer RGO than WE.

    12:23 oh brother i feel you. Whenever i play any ezio game, I try to get the bare minimum of armor bc i love the default robes. In AC2, fortunately, they force us to buy boots. That's good, it doesn't intrude. In revelations, they also force us to buy spaulders but they look a lot like the default so tis ok. but GODDAMN the roman spaulders are very instrusive and do damage the aesthetic a bit. Makes me sad every time i play brotherhood because the default robes are just so good

    15:07 I thought this was just a reference to Bianca, Bartolomeo's greatsword.
    I thought that Ezio just accepted that Bartolomeo had named another weapon Pantasilea.
    20:16 So, in this section, they explain in Rodrigo's bio (the one that Shaun puts in Tab) that after AC2, Rodrigo had a lot of near death experiences with construction/chandeliers crashing down near him. Was this purposefully done by the Assassins to keep Rodrigo scared and guessing, or was it mere coincidence? That's your interpretation. Anyways, all of these scared Rodrigo into taking a more passive role as the Templar leader, and letting Cesare deal with the more dangerous aspects of the Templar order
    24:21 Actually, this is a reference to "The Prince" by the real Niccolo Machiavelli. The character of Ezio is based a lot on this book.

    I was disappointed that Rosa from AC2 was not in the game. That is, until I found out about the tragic death of her voice actor, Lita Tresierra. I believe the name "Rosa in Fiore" was given in tribute.

    Omg no way I had so much emotions watching this video and bringing back all the memories these games gave us yes I definitely say that AC 2/brotherhood were best out of the whole series, just hope in the next game we could go back to some story line of what is happing in the real world..

    Lucy's death was forced in. By the time ACB was being produced, Kristen Bell asked for proper royalties from Ubi but they didn't give it to her. This was also the time when Patrice Desilets (the brains of the whole AC world) was yeeted off from Ubi.
    Now that they have him back they're going the alternative timelines route in AC Valhalla to go back to Desilets' original vision for the game.
