I keep meaning to go to Leeds fair.. we train hopped at Leeds this weekend to go to a fair in Saltaire, that was fun, and a lovley place. A member of one of my fave bands going back to the 90s, Saint Etienne, Bob Stanley was at the fair with his own table, selling some of his doubles, and his bands own stuff. He was a cheeky bugger, dippiing in your bin and under your chin... jeez.
@@westleymanc Yeah - I had to go, theyre a fave of mine, seen them a few times. I took a Saint Etienne bootleg for Bob to have a look at - they don't get bootlegged really - he found it really cool.
Awesome you got songs the lord taught us. I would have jumped on that original, original cramps are basically impossible to find here in the states. Off the bone is probably my favorite cramps record. Try to track down a date with Elvis by too, I love that one. They really don’t have a bad album. People bag on music for pleasure, and sure it’s maybe not there finest moment but it’s got some great song, stretcher case baby, don’t cry wolf, problem child, sick of being sick, Ect. With a band like the Damned I try to track down originals, that’s why I don’t have music for pleasure yet. At record fairs I tend to go straight to the punk section and get what I want out of those spots and then meander around. Sorry to leave a whole book of a comment haha

Hi Nick, Enjoyed the roots reggae intro. Very nice indeed. Keep hold of that CD from Martin. It's already gaining legendary status and will not doubt become a collectable CD sought after by many. I've always liked Martin, one of my first friends on the VC. I've got that second album by the Damned. Seldom play it. I think it is less interesting because it is the first one they did without Brain James, who wrote all the material on the first record. Vanien and Sensible hadn't quite sharpened their song writing skills yet. Still, it has Problem Child on it which is pretty good by anyone's standards.

I would have to say, to find a wandering hand coming into the same bin is pretty taboo in my book, it should be against the law, the cheek. I fully understand Nick about footage, being jostled is not cool or conducive. I was just so looking forward to seeing the fair so was a little taken aback at Iain's 35 seconds livestream🤣 , but alas no signal, such is life. Those Trojan explosions and skinhead comps look great, I've got to get me one of those. I have that Bow wow Going gets tough but not See Jungle Go batshit crazy !! Just the Go wild 12". Loving the Siouxsie wheels 👍👍
Great to meet you too i didn't have all the chats I'd have wanted but the records distracted me somewhat. Fairs are getting cheaper i think there's more competition between sellers. I don't mind a bit of ska (like what they play on BBC1's Death in paradise) comps the way to go as specialist 7"s like northern soul so expensive unless you get very lucky.
Hello Martin....I enjoyed the fair,plenty to see and not too overwhelming and good value for money I thought on my purchases. Yes I'd definitely reccomend comps,they're often cheaper than trying to track down the original material etc... I'm definitely going to Leeds again 👍👍👍

I used to frequent Vinyl Tap, on Call Lane, in Leeds when Leeds was worth visiting before they closed anywhere that was any good. They had a great selection of records back then. It's good for nothing, nowadays. Ian Carr - Belladonna, Soft Machine - The Land Of Cockayne, amongst others hard to find in great condition.The Cramps album Songs The Lord Taught Us on Illegal records is the only version to buy. They ended up remixing the later issues, and rid of the kill switch solo on TV Set, which is bloody criminal!!!
