How do you know what the float is?

Hello, in this specific setup the shims do not have a free float. The shims can "lift" from the piston face under pressure. The maximum lift distance is determined by how deep the leaf spring shims are allow to deflect into the JBI Ti Leaf Spring Washer. This midvalve type can be configured to allow the shims to have preload, no preload (neutral), or free float depending on the setup / feel desired.
