This is beautiful! We are returning to the Ladin country (Badia) for the 3rd time, (we love hiking) and since we know basic German and Italian, we will try to use more Ladin this year, as we stay on a farm in Val Badia. You are a very inspiring person! Dilan!

Very interesting thank you!! Love the scenery... although, if you do another one of these, I highly recommend avoiding using a translucent box and instead going for a complete chevron-style like a news station... it's sort of in the way, really...

    Hi Christopher!
This is a great video - I was just wondering as in it you mention learning Ladin from a book, what book was it out of interest?

Thanks! The book I used was the Curs di ladin dla Val Badia by Daria Valentin. I bought it at the Institut Ladin in Selva di Val Gardena, but I think it's now out of print and it might be a bit hard to get hold of elsewhere. The Institut has since published a new version of the textbook, called Curs de ladin per prinzipianc (one for each of the two main variants from Badia and Gardena). The content is actually available online for free: cursladin.ladinternet.it/ I'd recommend checking it out.

Why are you on Seceda (Val Gardena) and speek the version from val Badia?

@@davidDN2318 because the first time I went I could only get my hands on a textbook which taught the Badia version, so it was the version I managed to learn. luckily the family in the hütte I visited spoke the Badia version :)

The woman can not speak ladin very well - to compensate she uses a lot of her native language German or Italian (learned in school)
