  • How can you read a tennis serve well and anticipate the type and direction so that you return it well? 🎾 Free Second Serve CONSISTENCY COURSE: www.feeltennis.net/second-ser...
    In today's video you'll see me demonstrate all 3 types of serves (flat, slice and topspin) and we'll examine closely the difference in contact points and ball toss trajectories to see what helps us identify the type of the serve.
    You'll also learn whether we can read just the type of the serve or whether we can also read and anticipate the likely direction of the serve.
    I'll also show you how to mentally prepare your return technique and strategy based on what you read from the server's toss and contact point.

    Hi Tomaz… you cease to amaze me on your teaching abilities. Congrats to you and your innovative ways on how you approach the teaching of tennis!! I taught for years and played some professional tennis back in the day! Have since retired but still enjoy how instructors approach teaching!! You are one of the best!!!

    Your use of visual aids makes things very clear. They are the best I've seen online.

    It was so helpful to see the three trajectories from the other side of the court in three colors. That's a powerful visual to recall right before the toss so you can get better at perceiving the difference between flat, slice, and topspin.

    Can you do a video about movement on the court, as well as some drills to improve the movement?

    Super good tip as always! Something that seems to work well for me is to watch my opponents eyes. Many times some do look at where they intend to serve.

    Amazing video Tomaz !
    In addition to being able to read the type of service we are going to receive, it also addresses the best way to respond to each of them and only with the sum of these two aspects is the question of the player who responds complete. Here you can see the importance of recording ourselves, without which it is difficult to truly know how we perform.
    We think we act in a certain way and only when we see ourselves on video do we realize that it's not what we thought: "but this is me"? Oh .....

    I might over-analyse this, but i always know kick serve coming because how its toss is very different, or if it's a second serve. Then i just need to decide between flat or slice. Yep, in less than a second to decide between 2 choices. Not easy 🙈

    Left hand slice serve, ad side. Coming into my body! This is nightmare to return. Pls help

    • @feeltennis
      @feeltennis  Рік тому +2

      Yes, one of the most annoying and tricky serves to return. Stay further back to buy more time to get out of the way. You need to hit it with the outside stroke, so that you're moving into the court while hitting. Otherwise the serve will jam you... Light on your feet, good split step, quick nimble movements, see the ball well, focus on getting a clean hit with your racket to get depth...
