I'm 52 years old. I drank and smoked weed for 37 years. I smoked cigarettes for 35 years. I'm almost 7 months sober. I thank God everyday that I'm in as good of shape as I am. And thank you Jae for all you do! You are a bright light in the fog of reality. Your videos are SO GOOD! 🙏
Good morning on day 12 today… I have had my struggling moments for sure… but hubby still smokes and drinks everyday… when he comes in from smoking…. It smells sooooo bad….i don’t want to smell like that again… he also by end of night can barely walk and navigate…watching all of this reminds me in moments of weekness ..why I quit….i mean obviously there are other reasons also… But I thought maybe this might help someone who still has a spouse who drinks or drinks and smokes and wants to quit… you can do it!!! We are all here for you…and I know the best way to quit anything is to get rid of all stuff in house that you are quitting… but since I could not…. I had to have a different mindset… it’s here always… but in my mind it’s off limits… I choose to love myself and not poison myself… If anyone needs a buddy or some help I’m here for you… much love to all 🤗🤗🥰🥰
Day 304, I weighed 278Lbs when I started, now 187lbs, I've been intermittent fasting and cut out processed food almost entirely, all money I once waisted on booze goes on things to improve my health, I've also been hitting the gym 6 days a week, 3x resistance training and 3x 35 minute spin classes, I am so grateful for the situation I'm in now I can't even tell you!! Still have lots of work to do in many aspects of my life but the realisation that simply rowing your boat in the right direction no matter how you feel gets results is wonderful, I can't believe I lived 45 years with non real life strategy lol, good luck to you all xx
I did that two months ago, get ready to be real real tired as your body recovers; try to eat, try to work out and double your vitamins. You will also have a very painful week at first, by the third you may not sleep for a week and have to push through, by week four you finally feel good, sleep better, eat with ease, go potty normal. hang on two at once is rough.
I’m on day 5 and doing pretty good overall, considering I drank a bottle or more of wine everyday 😳 I’m going to get my bloodwork done tomorrow… 👍 You know, I really want to be selfish and spend time alone thru this transition. It’s a tough time of year to quit, but I just need to do this for me! 🙏

I've noticed my kids are better behaved since I've been sober .... Actually I've been more tolerant, and I don't escalate situations unnecessarily. Everyone wins with sobriety.
I have been a daily binge drinker for 17 years , I am 42 and my biological age according to this test is 59. Wow. My BMI is 24 and am active. My carnivores diet and I have been sober for 2 weeks.
I'm 1day and 12hrs in. I can not find one thing that was good or rewarding from alcohol that can compare to this clear mind I'm experiencing... Thank you Jae for your journey.
Stay busy, stay motivated, stay inspired. and when that doesn't work, give yourself permission to nap! Twice if needed! We NEED rest! (in my first month sober, some days I napped 3x a day just to get through it)
Well hopeful for a sober 2024, fell off the wagon and ended up in the ER due to dizziness from dehydration. Really disappointed in myself but hopefully it was the last lesson i need to stay sober. 3 days in and still feel not bueno.
73rd day sober of all, and good timing as the "I have done good the weekend is coming" thought was in my head. Spots on forehead gone, sleep much better; even got to the point I don't need melatonin to fall asleep. First winter was not depressed with darkness and other things as alcohol took me to the depression train. I have noticed that in the last week taking vitamins is like taking a cup of coffee and gets me wired; so I am going to say my aging has stopped and reversed some.
Im 32 and was drinking atleast 5-6 beers and roughly 4-5 shots of liquor almost everyday for the past 10 years. Im 11 days sober and i can already feel a big difference. Im sleeping well, more social and my appetite has gone through the roof. Thank you Jae and thanks to everyone else's stories to keep me motivated.
Congrats, the first 2-3 weeks are the hardest. I'm 2.5 months "more or less" sober, now i don't even THINK about alcohol, let alone crave it. Keep it up and stay away from it, i managed to stop for 3 weeks back in 2016, all it took was 1 can of beer, i remember it vividly
Day 23, longest in 10 years. Still struggling with depression but glad for videos like this. Had to go to the ER to detox and remember my hair was so thin I pulled out a big chunk of it like nothing. Scared the crap out of me. Taking vitamins and supplements and trying to exercise at least 30 minutes a day now.
I've always seen aging like driving a car with no break; you can't stop it, but you can slow it down by easing up on the peddle aka maintaining a healthy, proper human diet and just taking care of yourself un general OR you can floor it by putting substances in your body that don't need and shouldn't be there e.g. too much alcohol, too much sugar/carbohydrates, street drugs and of course, smoking, etc.
I have abused my body and now I am going through hell now. 3 surgeries this year and in the hospital for pancreatitis and my liver and kidneys are trying to shut down now. Time to change my way of living
4:40 I just wanted to say that "I am sober" app that you recommended on one of your videos is so awesome. Between watching you every day and talking within that community, I've been able to make it to 2 days and 9hr sober as of this post. I'm kinda going through withdrawals right now,but nothing compared to feeding myself death everyday... You are a God sent. And I'm extremely grateful for your courage and journey... Please keep going.
I'm happy that you found the app! It's always so funny to me that I make all these recommendations in these videos and people never say anything about it so thank you lol If your goal is to feel better, keep going! You have been systematically poisoning yourself for years. How long would a reasonable person think that it would take to fully recover from being poisoned? You may have a few more days of unpleasant feelings, but if you're not where you want to be, keep going!
Starting day 4……was sober for 25 years ,picked up 6months ago and was back to sneaking and drinking too much! Great video…….am eating more sugar and had stopped that too. I love your videos and zoom meetings and am starting to volunteer at local food bank. Thank you……everyone enjoy this day……..❤😊
lol I turn 35 tomorrow and realized I’ll be able to say tomorrow “o I haven’t drank since I was 34.” (Day 42, no astricks* this time. But still not cocky, cuz we know how that goes.)
Thanks for your videos as I had a sober October but then a get drunk daily November but am now enjoying a dry December so I would have more money to buy the grandkids Christmas stuff.
5 WEEKS TODAY JAE!!! Just wanted to shout it out loud, being sober is fantastic. I look forward to my weekly comment on your great videos. I love that you reply to everyone, never stop, it must take you ages!!! It really helps, thank you👍
Try starting a new healthy habit to go along with your new sober lifestyle... maybe yoga or exercise or hiking or learning a musical instrument or journaling...?
I’ve not drank for a month and have a party this weekend and been looking forward to a few beers but I know it won’t be a few beers it will be 10+ and a hangover on Sunday, so I’ve decided to have no beer and enjoy my Sunday, also I don’t think I’ve ever been to a party without getting sloshed so it will be interesting to see how I get on..
Alcohol free party update.. No problem and enjoyed it, if not more than if I were drinking.. Your videos are a great reminder not to drink .. great job 👍
My biological age is 55.4. The calculations show my phenotypic age as 59.4. Makes me sad. I've gotta figure out how to stop the madness. Thank you Jae, the entire video was so inspirational. The information on the website you shared eye opening!
Thank you for this channel, I am 52 days sober today and mamaged to stay completely away from any alcohol with a number of christmas parties thrown in! I feel better FULL STOP. I cant list the benefits because yet as they are still being discovered. I am not going to give up.
I go through health phases where I stop drinking for a month or 2 and my skin bounces out back beautifully and more hydrated. As soon as I start drinking again, my skin starts looking more dehydrated and fine lines that wasn’t there before, show up. Yeah you can rewind some damage but eventually I’d imagine it stops working as well as one ages
I did the stop-start-stop-start thing for many many years. Finally, I got sick of feeling awful, the definition of insanity is doing the same thing and expecting a new result, right?
Wow, I too am at about 90 days of alcohol-free living! For me it is starting to get a little easier, but I am still feeling thoughts about drinking on occasion. Mostly I am focused more on my healthier happier life without alcohol around to mess things up for me! I hope you are going strong my friend, keep it going- you are doing great!
I know what you mean! I feel like I am much easier to get along with when I stay away from alcohol, and I don't create as much drama or other problems for myself.
Day 5. I love that you have so many vids with so much content. It’s awesome that your vids are also so accessible. I was on date-night with my chica last night, walked right by a restaurant/bar last night, and remembered how you said to change places. It’s so nice not to get “one drink” because I feel good about not drinking the last four. Well, I’m feeling really good about Day 5 :)
Besides getting sober and eating clean foods without preservatives and sugar. I did look better and I felt better. Easy to fall into old drinking habits when everyone around you is drinking. However when I got my breat implants fully removed with the scar tissue that made me look 100xs better. 5 months ago was my surgery. Lost inflammation everywhere immediately including my face.. I was already sober and eating clean. The way I changed in my appearance was within two weeks after my surgery.. keeps getting better every week. I also know people I got rid of root canals and recovered really well. Any kind of implant can affect inflammation in the body.
I really should have mentioned that when I didn’t realize I was living in hidden mold that made me crave alcohol so much. After we found the mold, and I remove myself from that place, the cravings really calmed down.
I mentioned it to a couple close people, I need to mention it to more people, who understand why it will be good for me, I have kids so of course it would be good for me to quit! I don't have a huge problem but I used to black out which is really scary, I have slowed down for a long time since Ive been a mom, for like 14 years but its still not good for me, and there are times when I drink socially or even by myself that I over do it a little bit and it's just got me thinking. Some people dont like it and some people think oh, you're fine you don't need to quit, but if someone is thinking about making a healthy choice, everyone should be supportive! But it doesn't matter Im going to slow down a lot! Usually the summer I can get away with more but this year I don't want anything slowing me down, or holding me back, or aging me!!!! Thanks for the motivation!
isn't it funny how people love to enable you to continue drinking? And that quitting alcohol is one of the only things that you feel the need to have to explain to other people? You already know what's best for you and for your your littles. being fully present is the best present. been learning how to be your own best Friend is the gift that comes with being present.
Like that you mentioned what you listen to. Been listening to different kinds of relaxing music. I don't know whats up with today but i feel super peaceful. 81 days today.
Absolutely. People think that what they consume is just what they eat. Anything that enters your MIND, BODY AND SOUL is consumable. We need to be mindful of what goes in and what stays OUT!
Thanks, man. Always a welcome check in on my journey, when you upload. Dunno if I'm going be biologically 30 again, but I'm feeling good four months into sobriety.
@@gwillis01 Thank you. Everyday I worry that this is the day I go back to Day 1. But the cravings are gone, and my drinking buddies have stopped trying to entice me out. One day at a time. I wish you well, also.
Four months is a huge achievement. Be proud that you have stayed the course for more than 90 days. As Jae says "Sobriety is precious to me. I am not giving it back!!@@guyjperson
thank you for these videos! 2 weeks sober today and I feel better already and have more hope for the future! Watching videos and reading about how extremely damaging alcohol is and hearing about how much better off everyone is after quitting is a huge motivation. I get nauseous at the thought of alcohol or even looking at people drinking, which is amazing! I never ever want to touch the stuff again. 2 weeks ago that would be unheard of.
Same! Finding out what negative effects my drinking was having on my body was a real wake-up call for me. Life is better without alcohol. Stick with it, it will get easier as you keep stacking up sober days!
Thanks ❤ 6 weeks now, and I feel amazing! It has snowballed into eating more healthy, quitting social media, exerciseing, payed off my debt and lots more! I have hope for a good future for the first time since childhood ❤😊
I have been binge watching your videos. I went cold turcky Sunday, was meant to be Monday but I made it a day earlier. All these videos help so much. I am determined and won't drink again.
Good. Craving are very high but I am staying strong. Staying away from places were I would have temptation. And I just have 1 ginger beer after work and that seems to do the trick. First few days I was getting headaches and pressure feeling in the head but that's getting better and maybe a little groggy in the morning.
Jae….. I’m 13 days sober now and feeling awesome! I just got all my bloodwork done and my results are in…. My Chronological age is 67.84 and my Phenotypic age is 52.82…. A difference of -15.02 years! I’m very pleased with my results and excited to do this test again after 6 months sober and on a healthier lifestyle! 👍🙏💪☺️
I keep myself physically, nutritionally, and mentally fit. If I can quit the occasionally over drinking I do (roughly once every 3 weeks) I'd be much happier, and even healthier. DAY 14
Your test results are encouraging, Jae. I see my doctor in 2 weeks and will be doing the test. I look forward to seeing how being sober improves my results.
For sure! Keep us updated on those results. And even if it's not as great as you're hoping, just know that you're still making progress in the right direction in every little bit helps
Not sure. But i will say this. My testosterone went up 65 point after quitting for six months. I’m 44, it’s completely normal for test to go down. But mine went up. So I definitely FEEL younger.
Hey, Jae! I came in at -6.99! (Phenotypic = 48.08, Chrono = 55.07). I'm not a doctor, so it's all a guess, but I've been doing triathlons (between drinking stints) for over 6 years, and that may have helped. I generally reduce or stop drinking when training, but after a big ("A") race, I have nonstop celebration drinks for a couple months after. I'm stopping that. Thanks for all you do!
Life is so much better without alcohol! You are doing great things, why damage your body with booze! You can have an amazing alcohol-free life my friend!
You're the first one to finally comment on the age difference lol THANK YOU!!! You deserve to live your best life! Keep us updated on your next labs if you remember 🙏
Thank you I am making life style changes. I had one glass of red wine tonight but it just upset my stomach. So maybe I will try grape juice. I am supposed to eat more red meat too. 🤔❤🇺🇸

My last New Year's resolution was to not make New Year's resolutions again. I don't remember what year it was but I'm still going strong heheh. I stopped drinking every day since mid October. Started off with just wanting to go "THREE FUCKING DAYS" 😏...I never wanted to count how long without just wanted to not autopilot to the liquor store or bar and sink into the glaze of self loathing and a wobble. I've went back to the bars to spend time with the guys but no alcohol. A birthday came up and i shared two shots...thought i would feel like shit for drinking or that I'd start back drinking but it's no longer a priority. Since not drinking weekly or monthly in such a short time I've felt the changes in my health, my lifestyle, my sex life, my finances and im resolved to not want alcohol in my body. Situations come up, stressful day, a cold, an argument, drawback and instead saying I need a drink or anything I just...live. Stay alive and move on. I got sober thanks to this channel and found for me it's not about never drinking...again...its about being sober more, being healthier and it's one of the reasons I like this channel. You've helped me realize some things about my own resolve and I've discovered a new understanding of how to run my business and better care for myself not judging others for enjoying their lifestyles independent of my own.
@@GettingSoberAgain I'm proud of you for assisting reality towards health. Do you have a video about passively enabling other people's drinking habits or your take on that line of thinking?
Jae, I love your videos. I can’t believe how similar you and I were when we were drinking. I spent $20 a day or more on booze and then order $40 worth of Taco Bell, Pizza, etc. I think you might be one of the only people I know besides myself whose hair started thinning from heavy boozing. Can I ask, did you ever bruise easily or get gout in your ankle when you were drinking? I’ve been sober for four months and the symptoms I had went away and my doctor thinks that’s a good sign. I still have to get a physical next week and I’m scared shitless to be honest. These videos give me hope and keep me inspired! You have a new subscriber brother!!
Welcome, these videos are so amazing. I listen to/watch one (or more!) every day. I get so many great ideas for my own alcohol-free journey here. Stick with it buddy!
mmmmmmmm taco bell lol. No I didn't bruise or get gout, happy to say. All we can do is continue to make better decisions instead of worst decisions. and we both know that staying off alcohol is the best idea if we want to avoid any future complications. regardless of how those tests come back, drinking certainly will not help your situation in any way
I was 42 years old when I was drinking, after being sober for 6 months I am now 16 years old. Got fired from my job because I was no longer an adult, unsure of what to do with my life now I enrolled at the local high school
Has your liver cleared up? in a video you posted about 90 days sober you spoke of two spots on your liver and that one had gone away and the other has become smaller.
I drank 2 non alcoholic ciders but there is apparently a small trace of alcohol, does this count as breaking sobriety i hope not id be devastated. I had 2 non alcohol old moat ciders, will this have caused any damage to my body/mind/liver?
Non alcoholic absolutely doesn’t count as breaking sobriety! 🎉 it’s what it’s made for. (If you’re still concerned about it though, Heineken “0.0”is a great option for an N/A beer, & has absolutely no alcohol in it.) ❤

Time for a tune up ✊
I agree that aging is inevitable. However, healthy habits can slow down the aging process.
I have abused my body and now I am going through hell now. 3 surgeries this year and in the hospital for pancreatitis and my liver and kidneys are trying to shut down now. Time to change my way of living
We look forward to your next big success story!
Stick with it my friend, life is better without alcohol!
I'm happy that you found the app! It's always so funny to me that I make all these recommendations in these videos and people never say anything about it so thank you lol
If your goal is to feel better, keep going!
You have been systematically poisoning yourself for years. How long would a reasonable person think that it would take to fully recover from being poisoned?
You may have a few more days of unpleasant feelings, but if you're not where you want to be, keep going!
Keep up the good work The second week is easier than the first.
Well done!!!
@@jimsandersphoto 🖖🤟✌️ Thank you
Day 19! Thank you!
Congrats on 19 days. Keep up the good work.
Thank you for making these videos! 74 days today and you have helped! 🥰
Same, 74 days today :)
Starting day 4……was sober for 25 years ,picked up 6months ago and was back to sneaking and drinking too much! Great video…….am eating more sugar and had stopped that too. I love your videos and zoom meetings and am starting to volunteer at local food bank. Thank you……everyone enjoy this day……..❤😊
I love this!
Congratulations on your sobriety streak. Keep up the good work. Volunteers are always needed at local food banks.
lol I turn 35 tomorrow and realized I’ll be able to say tomorrow “o I haven’t drank since I was 34.” (Day 42, no astricks* this time. But still not cocky, cuz we know how that goes.)
Just keep it going, focus on today…. 1 day at a time works pretty well!!!
We sure do 😉
Thanks for your videos as I had a sober October but then a get drunk daily November but am now enjoying a dry December so I would have more money to buy the grandkids Christmas stuff.
There are so many benefits to an alcohol-free life, please keep it going this time my friend!

Just wanted to shout it out loud, being sober is fantastic.
I look forward to my weekly comment on your great videos.
I love that you reply to everyone, never stop, it must take you ages!!!

Keep that positive momentum going Sunny!
I have 42 days no alcohol 😊. Its like easy and hard at the same time. I want to go be with my friends, but i dont want to drink anymore
Try starting a new healthy habit to go along with your new sober lifestyle... maybe yoga or exercise or hiking or learning a musical instrument or journaling...?
Kinda cool; there’s 3 ppl on here on day 42
Perhaps you need to find sober people to associate with. Make some new friends
If you were a betting human, what would you wager on your ability to succeed?
Alcohol free party update.. No problem and enjoyed it, if not more than if I were drinking..
Your videos are a great reminder not to drink .. great job 👍
@@zippyoffrainbow8174 👏👏👏 well done my friend. AND you set a better example for others while you remained present and sober!
This is the best channel and sobriety teacher I have watched on you tube🎉
🥰🥰🥰🥳🥳🥳
85 days.
Getting ridiculed in pre-Christmas party for being the only one not drinking was fun.
Don't let that stuff bother you. Usually, the ones teasing are the ones who are worried about their own drinking.
Are you the victim or the victor? Never forget that question and choose wisely.
Congrats on 85 days sober
My biological age is 55.4. The calculations show my phenotypic age as 59.4. Makes me sad. I've gotta figure out how to stop the madness. Thank you Jae, the entire video was so inspirational. The information on the website you shared eye opening!
And when we KNOW better, it's our job to DO better 👍👍👍
Last drink in february 2022. Im 39 yrs old and peoples telling i look about 28.
Congrats on your good looks and long sobriety streak.
3 Months today 🏋️♂️
Wow, I too am at about 90 days of alcohol-free living! For me it is starting to get a little easier, but I am still feeling thoughts about drinking on occasion. Mostly I am focused more on my healthier happier life without alcohol around to mess things up for me! I hope you are going strong my friend, keep it going- you are doing great!

I’m embarrassed of the person I become when I drink. I’m not angry just extraordinarily annoying. I’m done with it.
Like, never wrong annoying? Confrontational annoying? Thinks they know better annoying? Too many questions annoying?
@@GettingSoberAgain full of energy. All over the place. Not rude or mean, just loud and exuberant. It’s not me.
Beware of everything! 💅
Life is better without alcohol!
I am practicing now by cutting way back, and doing dry days weekly. I am sleeping better already. 👍
Stick with it, you can have a wonderful alcohol-free life!
Dry July and Sober October every year!
888 days sober tonight! Thank you, Jae & the GSA community!

Congrats to Mark on 81 days of sobriety today. Keep up the good work.
Thanks, man. Always a welcome check in on my journey, when you upload. Dunno if I'm going be biologically 30 again, but I'm feeling good four months into sobriety.
Congrats on four months of sobriety. Keep up the good work.
Congrats on embracing sobriety. Keep up the good work.
Thanks ❤ 6 weeks now, and I feel amazing! It has snowballed into eating more healthy, quitting social media, exerciseing, payed off my debt and lots more! I have hope for a good future for the first time since childhood ❤😊
I am glad to hear you feel so positive and energetic @@missdead1
I have been binge watching your videos. I went cold turcky Sunday, was meant to be Monday but I made it a day earlier. All these videos help so much. I am determined and won't drink again.
How you feeling?

@@MargitCarlson-p4b Well we will all be happy to celebrate your success together 🫂
I keep myself physically, nutritionally, and mentally fit. If I can quit the occasionally over drinking I do (roughly once every 3 weeks) I'd be much happier, and even healthier. DAY 14
I do the same. How are you going ?
hello Jae
Your test results are encouraging, Jae. I see my doctor in 2 weeks and will be doing the test. I look forward to seeing how being sober improves my results.
For sure! Keep us updated on those results. And even if it's not as great as you're hoping, just know that you're still making progress in the right direction in every little bit helps
Thank you!
Not sure. But i will say this. My testosterone went up 65 point after quitting for six months. I’m 44, it’s completely normal for test to go down. But mine went up. So I definitely FEEL younger.
Hell yeah bro!

Thank you I am making life style changes. I had one glass of red wine tonight but it just upset my stomach. So maybe I will try grape juice. I am supposed to eat more red meat too. 🤔❤🇺🇸
why is it that you're so firm about drinking a red grape derived liquid? there are plenty more options out there that are healthier for you 🤓

We are all about finding a better life's balance. I'm proud of you for getting your life and your SELF back;
Congratulations on thinking before you act more often. Keep striving to improve yourself.
You have a new subscriber brother!!

mmmmmmmm taco bell lol.
No I didn't bruise or get gout, happy to say.
All we can do is continue to make better decisions instead of worst decisions. and we both know that staying off alcohol is the best idea if we want to avoid any future complications.
regardless of how those tests come back, drinking certainly will not help your situation in any way
your content is very helpful! thank you :)

Has your liver cleared up? in a video you posted about 90 days sober you spoke of two spots on your liver and that one had gone away and the other has become smaller.
I haven't been retested, but all my labs are outstanding 🥰
Thanks for asking 🙏
I drank 2 non alcoholic ciders but there is apparently a small trace of alcohol, does this count as breaking sobriety i hope not id be devastated. I had 2 non alcohol old moat ciders, will this have caused any damage to my body/mind/liver?
nope.
nope.
Non alcoholic absolutely doesn’t count as breaking sobriety! 🎉 it’s what it’s made for.
