As a Brit I'm snsxrd6st this fact! I have several reasons to visit the state Hidalgo soon! Muchas gracias
Saludos desdé.... San Miguel de Allende 🇲🇽🇬🇧🇲🇽🇬🇧🇲🇽
Beautiful looking town & the pasties look great too 🥟
Está genial tu video! Felicidades! Saludos Karencita, paisana 😊
Pastes are available in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. They were eaten by miners in the copper mining towns. While in Calumet, MI, I tried a few with potato, pork and beef, including some with chiles. Need to visit Real de Montes to see how they compare. Looks yummy.
Whenever we visit family in Oaxaca from Cdmx, we stop off for pasties in Puebla. I’m from the south west England near Cornwall and I must say the Mexican Cornish pasty scene is pretty good!
Wonderful video and as always very informative. Thanks again!!!
Another Awesome Vlog😊
Very enjoyable video Karen...nice mix of info and sights. Thanks for taking me along...
Thank you for sharing another place to visit. Good to see the Patroon family growing
Very cool video! Love to see unique things and cultures in Mexico - thank you 🥰
Loved this video I have added this town to my places to visit when in Mexico :D
Fascinating. Looks like a wonderful place to visit. I’m hungry now 😊

Such a beautiful town rich in history and so nice to see the adoption of some British food. I now have another place to add to my bucket list, but I also want to try a pastie with chillis. Maybe a little bit of Mexican tradition can be adopted by us British. Love this story
Love your videos!
Hola Karencita! What a video! I would absolutely love love to see more videos like this. Other cultures coming to Mexico and how they have been integrated into Mexico‘s history.
There is a book about us, our grand grand fathers coming to Mexico to work in the mines. Our families stayed in Mexico and their descendants live like regular Mexicans.
You're crushing it, Karencita! 👍😊
Funny how nobody in the UK is aware of this then they become so surprised. Hidalgo is breathtaking beautiful
Great video Karen. Cool looking town. Careful how you pronounce pasties 😃
I know. I was super confused. Then Dave came and told me the pronunciation in English. I had already recorded some parts 😓
@@LaKarencitaMX No worries. As they say in France, that's part of your charm. Funny little mistakes are charming.
This video was awesome. I like this style of video. Have you ever seen the variety of dogs in the Condesa neighborhood of MC? When my wife and I went there for a trip we thought there was a dog show in town, but apparently that neighborhood is wild about dogs.
Muchas gracias Patrick
Old style Cornish (miner's) pasties were meat , onion and potato one end , and jam or fruit the other...
Traditional Cornish pasties contain potato, swede (rutabaga), onion and beef in that order, so the meat juice helps to cook the vegetables below it.
Saludos!
What a cool story! It’s funny how miners have a typical food they take to work with them.. the British in Hidalgo had pastes, the miners in Zacatecas had tacos envenenados, and in Guanajuato they had enchiladas!
You make it very hard to intermittent fast until noon!
Very interesting and informative! Not to mention yummy! What did your husband think about the pasty’s?Im sure he’s eaten a few. The Mexican versions looked really good too. And the corn dish looked very good. What was it called? Thankyou for filming this.
Hola Patti. The corn dish is called esquites. You can find them everywhere around Mexico but these ones had pulque. Do you know what pulque is?
My husband wanted to go to that town to see and understand why this town way famous because of its Cornish pasties. He loved them and he thinks it's a great idea to have a variety of pasties with Mexican ingredients
Ya me dio hambre😛😛😛
Did you hear what happened to Tah that was bad
Yeah I like her a lot and she travels by herself I hope nothing else happens to her
I think a video of Dolores Hidalgo would be nice to share birth of Mexican independence, but Corralejo Hidalgo is a favorite place of mine. My friend's family lives very close to Hacienda Corralejo which is currently used as part of tequila factory, but was formerly home of Miguel Hidalgo. The only foreign tourists that I've seen there were Japanese. I'm always the only gringo when I go anywhere around there.
Thank you Brett. it's very interesting what you mention. I'll go and by myself 🤩
Well, that's something I wouldn't expect to find in Mexico.
The British wemt all over the world constructing railways in America. Argentina. and Brazil . The last 2 we taught. them football and they now beat us at it!
The Pasty is such a simple food that is very tasty. But i never knew that another country had adopted it also. I think a lot of people over here in the UK like Indian food a lot. Not myself though. There spices just don't agree with me. Looks good and i kept trying, But i gave up. Interesting information.
We call the thick part the "crust".
The one you had in England wasn't a cornish pasty. The one in Mexico was more original the Cornish existed in Britain thousand year before English.
Kernewek (Cornish) used to be killed for not speaking English but were very good miners so alot migrated to Mexico! 🙄😂🇲🇽😍
A spine?
Thanks for the video. Easy video ranking > P-R-O-M-O-S-M !!
I dont like the tone of your title ...
I don’t get it. My time in the UK was some of the worst food I’ve eaten in my life.
Not being critical, but honest.
Mexico and Italy were the best food I’ve eaten ever.
I know right, the worst food I've had was Florida, they covered everything in cheese or sauce and called it flavour 🤮
You were clearly eating at tourist traps and cheap hotels, more fool you for doing no research. You can get high quality food in even the smallest town now. Proper British food is very tasty and, as in this video, British food dishes have spread around the world. Plus every high street in the country has numerous ethnic restaurants, whether they be Chinese, Indian, Thai, Italian, Spanish, Mexican etc.
Can you think of any other international foods which Mexicans have adopted as their own? Would you be interested in videos about it?
I have to believe Mexico drinks more Coke per person than any other country. The type of bread Bimbo makes. Snacks you typically buy in Oxxo. Chinese food is big in Mexico, or at least a Mexican version of it.
I remember when visiting Mexico seeing spins on American foods like pizza, hot dogs, and hamburgers. I think it is interesting since those were American spins on European foods :D food never stops changing
You might want to examine the origins of 'tacos al pastor' which were apparently brought to Mexico by immigrants from Lebanon. Similar to 'sharwama'. Mexicans of Lebanese heritage such as Carlos Slim (the richest man?), the actress Salma Hayek, the Chedraui family (big chain of stores). Probably many more examples.
@@prime8nate ohhh I really like what you're trying to say here. I'll definitely have to make a video about this. Thank you very much
@@Nottyboy50 yes yes Jim! I like this as well. I'll make it this year
