Well, I ended up with two. A Sorceror and a Templar. The Sorceror for the electric abilities (I am a big fan of electric abilities) and Templar because of the hints at being a vampire hunter with some of the abilities. That intrigued me and made me wonder how far I could go with that.
Why would you delete those characters you have 9 slots? You could use them for storage as crafting alts its more characters you can have run the daily quests in every zone for the motifs or at the very least get them all the hireling perks in all the crafts so you get free mats mailed to you daily...

This is good advice for players who plan on spending the amount of time and work you are suggesting on this game.
