Sadly, this never happens in the third movie with its villain. One of the many, many reasons it is far inferior to the other two. It's a fun movie by itself but a bad Kung Fu Panda movie.
@@arminarlert7273Wdym there are several emotional moments, Po being frustrated that he can't teach, his both fathers trying to figure out how to support him, and before they all figure out to send Chi straight to the fudging Spirit world. @ambiverter I never said it wasn't a Kung Fu Panda movie read. I said that compared to the other two, it is inferior. Why is it so difficult for people to have reading comprehension nowadays
This film is one of this rare sequels that can compete with the original and maybe even surpasses them. The visuals are again stunning and the fights are intense. I think Shen as a villain is more interesting than Tai Lung because his past is linked to the heros. You could even say he helped creating him, what fits into Oogway's quote from the first film that one often meets his destiny on the path to avoid it. Although he might not be able to defeat Po in face to face combat, Shen outsmarts him and uses Po's trauma against him as a weapon. Po has to process his new learned past and make peace with it. Meanwhile Shen also has to deal with his past. He fears Po for being the prophecys chosen to defeat him. His motivation to correct his parents faults against him and take his happiness himself and his struggle trying this is a beautiful tale within the main story. Love this movie
Not only all that but Shen being an albino peacock means he technically fits the description of a “Warrior of black and white” He thought it meant pandas, which led to the whole chain of events for Po eventually being able to defeat him He cut the threads holding up that final cannon, he allowed it to crush him, killing him Thus, he was defeated by a warrior of black and white
Something that is so subtly heartwarming? Ping remembers _literally every detail_ of the night Po came into his life. It's been somewhere between twenty and thirty years... most people forget the finer details of events after that long. The average person would remember finding Po in the box, and deciding to keep him when nobody came for him. But Ping remembers _every last detail_ like it had only just happened. The fact Po was hungry and wouldn't stop eating. The pants chase, the bath, all of it. And he even kept the crate. It shows how often Ping thinks about his son, and moreover, how much he loves Po... so much so that literally every memory of his boy is at the forefront of his mind, constantly refreshed, constantly remembered. He looks at Po every single day, every single time, and he remembers every last moment with him, and thinks to himself; "Keeping him was the best decision of my life. I couldn't love my son more if I _tried."_
Shen is the best villain. Obsessed to the point of coming _this_ close to world domination, and then letting it defeat him. Literally going down with the ship. edit: And the hugs.
You miss the point of Shen's and Tai Lung's pain. They were both driven to their break by the expectations of their parents. Tai Lung was trained and raised his whole life by being told that he is the Dragon Warrior and that was the reward for all his training and pain. Shen grew up in the shadow of their parent's and the only way to break out was to go beyond what they did, Shen wanted to make his parents proud lost sight of the way. And I speak from personal experience when I say that the sins of a parent are punished by their children.
Po's "Ska-doosh" when he's throwing the ball of firework directly towards Shen's main flagship is one of the coldest moments in cinematic history, gah daayymn 🥶😳🥶
@Gönül Çözümcü well, if he was 8 in '08, then 11yrs later would be 19, potentially close to 20 depending on when his bday is to this movies release. Which then would mean to be a legal adult, he'd have to be between 7 and 12 when he first saw this.
If you take Shifu as reference he's a lifelong master & could only pull it off with water droplet only at a certain age he reached....Po achieving it in half the age line plus doing it to a cannon ball is on another level.
i love tigress' character in this movie. i love how you can tell she's making an effort to be sweeter and more compassionate. her relationship with po is definitely different to her relationship with anyone else.
The scene where Po's mom sacrifices herself always makes me a bit emotional. I think the third one is not at the same level as the first two. The first two are very good while the third one's a bit more on the average side, but it's by no means bad. It's a good conclusion to the trilogy and so I'd recommend still watching it. Just go in not expecting it to be quite as good as the first two and I think you'll still enjoy it.

I really like that they give Shen lots of depth and sympathy to his character while still having him an unrepentant villain. Lord Shen is not only my favorite villain of the franchise. But he's the most intimidating. He has this unhinged demeanor and strong yet subtle sense of command. The biggest thing is that he is a legit Foe made for Po (Hehe i Rhymed), since he is the reason why his mom is dead. Fighting Tai Lang like you said was comical and fun for Po, Fighting Kai in part 3 was to save the Five and send Kai back to the spirit relm, but fighting Shen is a more personal and emotional journey for Po as it ties to his past. This is my favorite Movie with my favorite villain voiced by the AWESOME as hell Gary Oldman.
You should DEFINITELY watch Kung Fu Panda 3. It's a lovely story about Po and his birth father and gives you even more of that "who am I" theme. I love how much research they did to make these movies. Apparently even Chinese film makers were like "How can an American Animation studio do a better movie on Chinese culture than us?"
there are some side stories like 'Secrets of the Furious Five' where Po just tells some kids stories about his friends from before they formed the group, like that Tigress was in an orphanage before going to the Jade Palace. So, Tigress understands how Po feels as she never knew her parents.
If you watch closely when they put Mantis in the box, he really does switch out with the action figure. It’s super quick but if you go frame by frame you’ll see it.
Soothsayers can only see vague depictions of the future, traditionally. For example, they can see vague evil actions will happen and that they'll be defeated by someone, but they _can't_ see specific details like Shen genociding an entire village of Pandas.
Something that’s easy to not notice is Mr. Ping selling Tofu dishes in his shop. I the first movie he mentions he always wanted to make Tofu, but was discouraged by his family. But now that his son is living his dream, Mr. Ping is living his.
I like how they had Mantis ask how they could lose someone like Po, meaning Po's Stealth mode, despite not being his strongest mode, still managed to work on the Furious Five, and from the looks of things even the rest of the citizens and guards for a time
The Wolf Boss is a fun little side character with his strange relationship to Po. "I must defeat that cursed panda! ...And maybe after I beat him to a pulp, we can go out for coffee or something?"

This is the best movie in this series in my personal opinion. Shen A PEACOCK. Is a great movie villain. I love Garry Oldman. Maybe that’s a factor why I love this movie so much.
Shen performs the slaughter that is part of what leads to Po growing up to become the dragon warrior, employs the soothsayer that ends up nursing Po back to health, personally fires the cannon blast that hits his own boat, and refuses the redemption he is offered to instead choose conflict. Shen was indeed defeated by a warrior of black and white: himself.
All 3 are good which you don't find that often with movies.. maybe more often with animated ones. Kung-Fu Panda How to train your dragon Toy Story Shrek
I read somewhere that an albino animal means dishonor even in the animal world, an albino animal is exiled from its main group, so this fact makes the history of this peacock even darker.
kung fu panda 2, and i definitly say TWO, has done, what no other animated movie has achieved ... it outranked "UP" as my favourite animated movie - and it's one hell of a god film!!!!
I don't know if you found your answer from the first movie but the antagonist's voice (Tai Lung) was done by one of my favorite actors of all time, Ian McShane. Some of his best performances are in; The "John Wick" franchise, "American Horror Story" (season 2 episodes 8 & 9, 2012), "Hellboy" (2019), "American Gods" (2017-2021), "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" (2011) and my three favorites, "Game of Thrones" (season 1 episode 8, 2016), "Deadwood" (2004-2006 from HBO) & part VI of "Roots" (1977). You should check out a few of his other works. He is pretty amazing. The antagonist in this movie is Gary Oldman. You probably know him better as Sirius Black from the "Harry Potter" movies.

Kung-Fu Panda
How to train your dragon
Toy Story
Shrek
That video on the discord server where you were calling Shen a goose still plays in my head LOL!
"I scared you for life."
"Scars heal."
"Wounds, heal."
'Oh, yeah."
Shen’s crazy look is Gary Oldman’s one cause he’s the one voicing Shen (not sure if that makes sense)
"Oh he's so stealthy look at him go" look at what? 😂😂
Now it’s time for the third one
0:39 "How can they do a bad Kung Fu Panda?"
They shouldn't have been able to, but they somehow did with the 3rd lol
I read somewhere that an albino animal means dishonor even in the animal world, an albino animal is exiled from its main group, so this fact makes the history of this peacock even darker.
kung fu panda 2, and i definitly say TWO, has done, what no other animated movie has achieved ...
it outranked "UP" as my favourite animated movie - and it's one hell of a god film!!!!
13:34 The squashed snout cracks me up!
omg yes, i just watched your kfp1 reaction yesterday, and was a bit disappointed that the second wasn't up yet.
Bamboo is all pandas eat, I believe. I don’t think they’re able to digest anything else
“What if Shen was poes adopted dad” yes he went from goose to peacock
The Duck says Quack, the Goose says Honk and the Peacock says Aa-ah-Aa-ah.
Pandas eat bamboo, koalas eat eucalyptus ... who has better breath?
Ox: Kung Fu is Dead.
Vkunia: Don't say that. It's not a trend, it's a way of life.
Profound :)
Loved seeing this popup on my screen, brightens my day again!
