Side Note: I added the "Directed by Angelina". This is a video she posted to Insta, and I am just assuming it was her that put together this collection of clips to make the video. I think they go very well with song. I have a feeling the directing torch may be passed from Grandma Mery to Angelina herself as she gets older. I think she has such a clear view of what a song should sound like, and it only make sense that she would have her own unique view of what it should look like as well :)
Again... I don't like posting Angelina's insta videos to youtube, but two monetized channels have now published it, so this is just an attempt to move views away from them. I know some of you are not on insta or tiktok, but it is _always_ better support for Angelina if you watch her videos on her own platforms instead of youtube (unless it is her youtube channels). @@artfartzy mimxii is definitely monetized. ...but at least lately she has started posting "reaction" videos again instead of just posting the video (you would have to watch one to see why I put reaction in quotes ;) ...but make no mistake... it's for the monetization, not for promoting Angelina.
But she actually posted hers a couple hours after this one. The ones I was talking about posted before I decided to publish it here. I usually post these and leave them as unlisted or private videos unless I see one of the problem channels post it publicly , then I publish mine. I'm out of ideas on how to get the pirate channels to stop (and how to get the fans that support them to stop giving them views and subs and comments). This is all I got left :P
...and I always have to clarify, by "pirate channels" I am not talking about reaction channels I'm talking about people posting her videos directly on monetized channels.
All that can be said for this topic is to just keep at it as it always bears repeating (ah yes, endlessly, it seems). The usual thanks to Rusty for sticking with this battle against the morass of the web and those who only wish to profit.....

She not only she was endowed by her mother nature with a stratospheric talent:
1) she is a Renaissance artist, who ranges from music to writing books, designs his stage clothes with his grandmother artist and I suspected, being an artist, that he built his tiktok videos with an aesthetic eye, to make me believe that he said the his also on the sets of his videos. Which you confirmed. The montage of this collage is by Angelina. In short, here you have offered the complete package, without the need for specialists.
2) she is empathic, thanks to which she is probably the best storyteller in the world at just 16 years old.
3) she is charismatic, she is able to capture the attention of the public since she was a child, and today that she has also become a beautiful young woman ...

When you watched her Christmas Concert you couldn't help but notice that Angelina is going for that "old school" elegant look which suits her perfectly. None of that green hair, tattoos, nose rings , horns,etc for her. She is a modern day Audrey Hepburn with the singing style, and vocal ability of Streisand on stage in Vegas. Norway is the first concert of 2022. A album and a world tour will be following.. Soon millions will know the brilliance of this generational music genius, not just us U Tube Angelina fans. I am so happy for her, and as proud as a parent.

Angelina's colossal rendition of "Mercy" removed any doubts as to where she would go with her range of vocalization in the future, and this rendition of "My Funny Valentine," confirms that she has arrived. Although the video was likely produced for another purpose, the maturity of this young lady is beyond our comprehension. She is there!

I've been waiting for her to revisit this song and wow she didn't disappoint at all! Not that she has ever disappointed, but this is beyond beautiful.
During Angelina's last covers it has become evident that she has used her first 8 years as a professional singer to practice, perfect and master her different instruments (aka voices). She is now able to mix those fantastic instruments/voices and starting to create vocal "symphonies" that has never been performed before. In this song you can hear Ella, Billie, Nat King Cole, Radka Toneff, a good trombone player, Angelina's whispering voice, breathing voice, volume voice and also some nice improvisations in less than 4 minutes.

I've been waiting for this for 6 years & I've said many times, this is the #1 song I want her to re-record as an "adult." All I can say is, the wait was worth it. A little over 8 years ago when I heard a little 7 yo girl sing Gloomy Sunday I thought I had just heard the most remarkable thing in my life and it couldn't get any better! Then the next thing she did got even better, and for about 160 times since then she has produced a new, AND BETTER, song! And then again today she has done it once more! I use to say I hoped to live to see her reach her vocal maturity, but now I believe the last song she ever sings will be her best! And I am afraid that will be many years after I am gone!

As Mike Mike Kike says, it's been a long wait. Sitting on the chair back in Oslo in 2016 - that song makes me cry - every time I hear it. Now we get this powerful rendition - yes it could well be a song on the album - if they are at this standard Angelina will really take off in a big way! I saw this pop up on Instagram this morning - it has hijacked my day. Maybe she will include it in her concerts... Just as you think she can't get any better - we get something like this - I don't know how I will be able to cope with what might come in the years ahead.
I also wonder how it's possible for her to get better. As if the gap between her and everyone else wasn't already big.

Angelina's last two songs "FUNNY VALENTINE", and "HOUSE OF THE RISING SUN" are not just the best of the best she has ever done, they are shockingly amazing for lack of a better explination. Surely Republic Records realizes this , and will run with it. If both songs are not going into her Debut album, then they should immediately have a studio version made for Spotify, etc. etc. They must go MAINSTREAM. People who do not watch U Tube must become aware of Angelina Jordan, and her stellar voice. All RR, or Angelina's management team have to do is read the hundreds of positive comments to dozens of reactors to know they have a winner for mainstream music buyers. I will not rest until I see them on Angelina's Spotify site.

There are at least a couple of reasons why I think this may not have been recorded with RR. Simply to say that the editing doesn't have their hallmark on it. However, I'm unable to identify the backing track, but would be interested if anyone else has found it.

@@pa1189j Having spent many hours sitting in audio post-production on my films over the years, I'm guessing this backing track is a combination of Rob Christie's piano double-tracked and synthetic strings/choir. In my day, the virtual instruments were midi-based and fairly crude but now that the software uses samples of real instruments/voices, it's sometimes hard to tell the difference! To my ears, the choral underscores at 00:36, 00:58, 01:34, 02:19 and 03:30 are a bit of a giveaway, as is the slightly ragged final chord ... but then I'm not listening on studio quality monitors, so I could be wrong. For those Angels who, like me, have a nerd's interest in what the latest virtual technology can achieve, my old studio engineer is using Berlin Symphonic Strings (I have no connection with the company!) who have a 20 minute showreel of audio samples on youtube at ua-cam.com/video/bOyJsSd2TQw/v-deo.html ... it's simply stunning what they can do! This was my first listen to 'My Funny Valentine', 2022 version. At first I was in shock because I was expecting something like the version she did when she was 10. This is now my third time listening to it and it's growing on me more and more and I'm appreciating it and loving it more and more.
You thought it might be on the new album. I hope so! And, it also gives me hope a new complete version of 'Smile' will be on the album, as well.

Rusty, I want to take a minute to thank you for all the things you do for us. You are always posting the newest AJ vids for us and the decade of music was fabulous. I've done the decade multiple times now and love it every time. I find your playlist a wonderful chronological guide and I wish more new reactors would find it and follow it. Your list is still (IMO) the best way to understand the growth of Angelina. Once again, just thank you.
Angelina can sing exceptionally well in a remarkable variety of styles. But that said, it seems to me that her greatest natural talent is for slow ballads. She has an extraordinary, magical ability for stretching out the phrases and melting her voice into the song.

Her concerts are usually not live streamed. However, Boris and other Angelina fans will certainly record her concerts and release her songs here if they are allowed.
It's also possible Angelina's family will record her performances and post them on her social media channels.

Angelina Jordan Astar (THE PRINCESS OF JAZZ, THE QUEEN OF JAZZ, THE EMPRESS OF JAZZ, THE PERSIAN PRINCESS, THE BEST VOICE OF ALL TIME , etc.) can sing the same song in different versions, and still each and every version sounds better than the originals. It's just so smooth and you can taste it in your ears. I was driving home from work today and listening in my car in a loop for may be more than 20 times, and just couldn't stop listening. I seriously believe people who enjoy listening to Angelina Jordan will live a healthy , happy and longer lives. At least I'm feeling it.
Although there are many "nicknames" for Angelina, I think the most appropriate one is "The Chameleon of Music" for as a chameleon can adapt its colour to its surroundings, so Angelina can colour her voice depending upon the melody and lyrics of a song and how she wishes to interpret it.

Long ladders and running marathons is now quite beyond me. Don't mind about the inability to climb leaders, but I've been a runner most of my adult life and miss the "high" I used to get when running.🙂
@@alberttenfoot Well, I think if you take a 5 or 6 miles hike a day, that'll bring back some 'high' that you have missed from running marathons. I hike up the mountain in my neighborhood most weekend. If I missed doing it one week, I don't feel good, I think it's like people going to the gym all the time and they don't want to miss it.

I’m intrigued as to whether this video was originally meant for this song. She’s done these walkabout versions before, like Autumn Leaves, and that had context. For this maybe an art gallery would have worked well. I’m still looking for the original backing track, if for no other reason, to fix the very end of the song where it drops off a cliff. But overall, it’s a superb take on an old classic.
