What helped me when learning these was to stretch out my leading arm and point at the end of the box. This kept me balanced over the box or rail and prevented me from slipping back and falling on my butt
Yeah this also helps you not starting to turn on the box.
Nev, you’re a legend. Thank you for all of the quality content. Studying all of your knowledge for this season. ... also love my SA training board. 🙏🏾
The goal is to stay as flat as you can on the box. I see soooo many kids lifting their toes. The second your edge hits that box you're smacking that booty. Just stay flat.
the forward momentum allows for less necessity to balance, just like on a bicycle the forward motion allows less force needed from the side to keep balanced
the reason a bicycle stays balanced is because of the gyroscopic effect produced by rotating masses (the wheels). Since there are no wheels on a snowboard, this doesn't apply

You need to find somebody who's name is Jerry for one of you videos! :D
Just wandering if SA can do a leader video in the snowboarding tour history by teaching woman snowboarding improvement?
MY PRAYERS HAVE BEEN ANSWERED
So clutch right when I needed it
Bout to take this to Big Snow this weekend
my most common mistake is not getting a full 90 degrees i’m always like 70 degrees
I thot I really need to work on my backside board slides the other day and lucky me fresh new video on backside board slides
Thanks so much, I’ve been trying them recently this will help
Love the content man!! Keep it up.
Yes needed this!! Thanks SA!
Just what I needed! Thanks
Thanks for the vid! I needed a recap on the mechanics and the live coaching was exactly what I needed.
Needed to see some riding improved...not disappointed
My only concern with trying to lean too much forward is to catch a toe edge and face plant the box - is this even likely to happen ? Because if not, then I have nothing to worry about lol
Happens to me a lot. Just don’t go TOO far and you’re chillin
Could you do a video on riding kinked rails
What angle are your bindings at?
15/-15
@@maness2112 same
15/-15 for the win in park and switch. For powder I do 15/-6
thank you
excellent tutorial.
what brand and centimeters is your snowboard?? you with the blue jacket
I was waiting for the tips on BACKSIDE board slides but this was all frontside, fail
Yet it IS backside. Frontside is when your back is facing the slope. Yup it's confusing, especially on a box, but backside means you approach with the feature on your heelside... Many SA vids explain this quite well (recently, look for the training board vids...)
