Main Reasons as follows .
1/ Control Supply of Breakers & Relays (110 V D.C. mentioned here) , 2/ Indication Lamps & Alarming in Panels , 3/ Emergency Lighting and 4/ Automated Interlocking through D.C. Supply ,e.g., DCS which badly requires D.C. in fact .
Most importantly , D.C. being able to be stored through batteries , is the master line of defense during A.C. BLACK OUT ; As such A.C. can't at all be stored .

Good 👍information sir :- Tap cell in DC system kya hota h sir.
During boost charging of battery, the boost voltage is higher than nominal battery voltage . Therefore to provide constant supply to load tap cell method is used. In this method, tapping of cell is done to maintain the voltage at load terminal(which is less than boost charging voltage).
