Thank you so much - I happened to go in the thrift shop this past June and had no idea of the history- from Worcester went to Eastham all my childhood 2 weeks every summer - now live in Florida so it was so wonderful to be in Eastham in June
Really enjoyed this presentation! So glad you posted it online since we weren't able to be there in person. My husband and I recently bought a cottage on the Cape so we're catching up with all of the museums we didn't get a chance to see on our short vacation trips. We visited the Smith-Daley House during the summer and Marca gave us the tour! I've been coming up here since I was a child, and my mom came up to Eastham since she was a child. My great aunt Dorothy owned a cottage in the dunes in Eastham. (Mom's cousin Shirley, Dorothy's daughter, told us it had a hand pump and no electricity!) My mother remembered going to Brackett's store to get candy and whatever else they wanted when she was a kid. My husband and I have been visiting the thrift shop every year, probably since it opened, since 1984 was his first trip to the Cape. The store holds a lot of memories for us! Thanks again for a great presentation!
