Jeeze... I remember looking at speed runs of this game years and years ago. In those days, the most optimized way to get through the 10 man Ocelot unit part was just to lay on your belly under the bed and throw stun grenades and hope you don't get spotted. Now just look at this craziness. Its amazing how people can still find ways to further optimize speed runs like this.
I stick on the desert camo for unlimited suppressor, then go down the trap door, quickly adjust my backpack to stow the m1911a1 and take out the hush puppy....then look through the gratings shoot shoot shoot shoot....get numbers down quickly and then come out to get the guy on roof through a hole in the red brick wall (I'll stick on my squares uniform at that point with splitter camo) and then take the last two!

For those of you who don't know about it already, the speedrunner utilized the "End dies from old age" trick by manually setting the console's time to one week in advance after saving in the first area that the End is normaly fought in, hence why there's no End nor Ocelot Unit encounter in those three areas.

I've completed this game many times. I've done it on Euro Extreme and even got the Foxhound rating....but I couldn't even touch this performance on my best day if I tried. Well done.
I wouldn't doubt he's played and rehearsed this COUNTLESS times. He knows enemy positions and pretty much the whole game like the back of his hand. Shit's crazy lol
It’s unbelievably depressing how they dropped the camo and medicine / manual healing systems. Sure mgs4 had the active camo thing but that was cheap and felt kinda cheaty. Deliberately taking a specific route through the grass to avoid detection in this game was something that felt so unique and exciting. Such a shame we won’t have a more fleshed out, bigger version of snake eater ever again 😔
BluePoint is remaking MGS1 from my understanding and they remade Demon Souls. So it's promising for possible remakes of the others in higher definition and potentially refined mechanics, or just the old mechanics, because the DS1 remake had almost all of the same features as prior.
@@Tilearian they also remade Shadow of the Colossus, where they fixed the controls and added some cool new things. In the DeS remake they also added a new set of armour and changed how items weigh

Learned lots after playing for 15+ yrs. At the start of the end battle, duck & do absolutely nothing for 1½-3 hours. Eventually, hiis stamina goes down to 7%
Had this game years ago, then someone stole it, I bought it again. Pawned it along with my ps2 and various other games. 6 years later or 8 months ago I bought a ps2 and this game again. It took me 11 hours and 44 minutes on normal. Best time ever which was a week ago was 3 hours 30 mins and 8 seconds on normal. I would never have enough time to get this good. This is truly a mind blowing experience, hats off to you good Sir.
At 15:48 you knock a dude into the water, which if you drop and unconscious man into normally kills them. I'm assuming that there's a drowning animation or something and that you left the map before the kill counted, but just wanted to know if its something else

I'm fairly certain it's so his health is low enough when he starts the fight with The Sorrow that the grenade he throws at himself will absolutely kill him. Maybe it wouldn't one-shot him if his health wasn't that low? I'm not 100% sure but that's what it seems like to me.
It's not hell it's actually very easy. You just suck. (Find out the correct timing and then it works like a charm.) Hint: Press the CQC button at the same time Snake makes his move sound.

Amazing run! MGS3 is my favorite in the series. I do an annual speedrun around Christmas time each year, and I generally average about 2.5-3 hours. I couldn't believe someone could do it under 2 hours, and here you have 1 hour and 13 minutes!

There are a few tricks in order to get past them As said up above, when they are calling their base, they can't see nor hear you, kinda like them being distracted Same thing goes when they are attracted by sound, their range of vision surrounding the area they are walking to is smaller, they can still hear you running though And the best one (he uses this technique a few times on the run) Running while holding and preparing to throw a grenade, denies the sound of your footsteps. Don't know why, but it's an amazing glitch!

Doesn’t count as a kill. Like when you shoot the exploding barrels and it kills an enemy, it doesn’t count.

I usually just use fake death pill, wait for him to walk past me, than I take the torch, lit IT, then walk slowly behind him with the torch lighting his ass cheeks and he ends up dying Because he doesn’t move at all lol

I'm pretty sure if you hold l1 it locks on, but I've never had much luck since I'm garbage at this game
