- Russia has announced the transfer of S-500 air defence missile systems to its Army. Russian Defense Minister said the army will get the next-generation missile systems in 2024. Sergei Shoigu added that the S-500 missile systems will be supplied in two modifications. Shoigu also said that the supply of Pantsir missile systems will be doubled in 2024. Watch for more.

They already have laser weapons, used them on Chinese some 40+ years ago when they refused to return across the Russian border back to China. They obviously made up since then, thanks to the western policies.
While Russia keeps advancing its missiles, aircraft, and military electronics, the US seems lost in the fog of debt. It wants to replace the F-35 because of its complexity, it has an availability of only 50%. It wants to replace its Arleigh Burke destroyers average age about 25 years. It has one super carrier and wants to build 11. It's Minuteman silo missiles are over 60 years old. As for ammo, it needs to buy howitzer shells from South Korea to give to Ukraine because it doesn't have enough for itself.
Russia's war machine is operating 24/7 and seems able to supply its troops in Ukraine with sufficient gear and ammo. It also has been able to upgrade and adapt to the changing characteristics of the Ukraine conflict.
I think the US and NATO would be hard pressed with a direct confrontation with Russia and impossible if China joined in against the west. Both do not need to project power beyond their domestic shores and territories, the US must logistically provide for a war thousands of miles away. Both have the capabilities of triad launch of missiles against the US if needed, nuclear or not.
