I like the look but I don’t get wearing what would feel like a full face helmet but not getting face protection.
I wish companies would make full face variations of these types of helmets. I love the look but I like my face too much to wear something that leaves my entire jaw exposed like that in the event of a face plummet during a crash.
Scorpion, if you ever read this please make a full face variation of this. The design is completely badass and the drop down sun visor integrating with the chinguard like this is awesome. Reduced safety however is not awesome. If this was full face I wouldn't even be typing a comment, I'd've already bought the helmet.
My thoughts exactly. I always wear full face because with my luck, I'll take a 25 mph low-side and somehow my chin will get ground down to jaw nubs
Hunter, I agree completely. make this in a full face and I will say "shut up and take my money" listen up Scorpion, the consumers say this about every 1/2 & 3/4 design with the muzzle look that I have seen. MAKE IT FULL FACE SAFETY WITH THESE LOOKS AND WE WILL BUY IT. (oh and blue tooth comm ready please)
My guess is that they can't do a chin bar that close to the face that is also DOT or Snell compliant. The closer we can get to a full face with a similar "storm trooper" design would be an adv helmet without the peak, IMO.
I know it's not quite like this but I'd suggest checking out the Shark Vancore if you like this styling. I think I'll buy one myself. Gotta pay out the assignment shipping though like $30-40ish because as far as I know you have to order them from Europe. My only complaint with the Vancore styling is that it's a goggle system instead of having the visor.
Lunchbox76 I had the Raw and have the Vancore. I went to an Icon simply because of the goggles. I ended up not caring for them over time. Great helmet otherwise though. Since TX doesn't require a helmet I didn't need it to be DOT. I believe they're in the states now however.
Why would anyone get this just to remove the chin piece.. You buy this helmet BECAUSE of the chin piece completing the nice design! :D

So you can leave your helmet on when you walk in dunkin donuts and order something just remove the chin flip up the glasses and you're good to go

5 years later and Scorpion still hasn't released a normal helmet with this design. I love the looks, but I want to be safe as well
I'd take a look at the bell broozer. Similar style and classified as a full face and 3/4 face.

You've got to appreciate the guy trying to sell this on behalf of his shop but also doesn't recommend it due to the lack of face protection. Fair play!
Thanks for the honest review. I'm looking to upgrade from my skid lid to something with more protection after a friend took a tumble. This looked like a good helmet. Giving me the option to still wear a half or full depending on how far and what time of day I rode. Then I saw how it looked once you took the jaw off. I'm probably better off just finding a good full face and not a convertible.
Just unboxed this bad boy! Discovered that the European versions don't allow for the removal of the neck piece. A small price to pay though for such a cool look.
im doin my second year with this helmet and the visor is getting loose (visor always going down when its not supposed to) ....put it off put it out many times tryin to fix this but its still loose. The visor looks to be in mint condition ! help please !
damn straight, these helmets (shark raw also comes to mind) look absolutely beyond badass. If I start collecting helmets soon, ( I have a strange obsession with lids) this is one of the first I'd get.
I use it for 4 wheeling in the bush (got one used fairly cheap). The mask is good but in some cases i'd like to remove the back attachment, which is impossible for me so far.
I'm really digging the look and size. would really like to hear how it rides
my friend have something like that with the removable muzzle but the problem it is very loud when he speaks to me in the intercom or even call me..it looks great but when it comes to the long riding you will suffer from the loud wind.
Does anyone know , is the covert's chin mask compatible with exo combat helmet?
I like the helmet, feels great. I was able to try this out at AIM-Expo 2 weeks ago. However the EPS on the temple has no comfort lining. I cannot wear my glasses on. Bad idea for those of us who wear prescription glasses with or without the sun visor.

I have this helmet, it's very wind noisy compared to other helmets I've had.
Seems like there might be an issue with the eye shield fogging up at red lights, hahaha

So if I were to try to use a headset, would the uclear HBC200HD work if I used the earbuds instead of the full size speakers?
You'd have to use an adhesive mount, plus the earbud wire might hang down too much. It's possible it might work, but this helmet just isn't designed for communicators. -DrewZilla
I love these helmets for the Polaris slingshot. Not sure for my bike but ordering one for the sling
Suomy 3logy is along the same lines and has an integrated visor as well. Pretty cool and retro looking but again, no actual protection from the chin bar. And not a quick change over.

Even though it has no dedicated slots is it possible to install speakers in this helmet for a coms system?
If you look at 5:03, you'll see that unfortunately, there isn't really a good spot to mount speakers or a comm system. -DrewZilla

Hey guys, how are you? May you know why my Covert helmet cames without the Scorpion Logo? It's a brand new helmet. To be honest, I really like it without the logo, but I'd like to know what happens!
I really would’ve liked to have seen visor removal from clear to the smoke visor and see how easy or difficult it is to change out.
I got one, you have to be a little gentle with it but it’s not that difficult. Just don’t pull the visor at a strange angle or the gripping bits will snap
Hi Revzilla i have been watching several of your video's now, and i am in doubt between the Shark Raw and the Scoprion Exo-Combat, i like the exo-combat more but i also want a bluetooth system and you said in the review of the Shark Raw that it is verry good for the Shark bluetooth system. Does the Scorpion Exo Combat also have a simular bluetooth system? and wich of those 2 helmets would you recommend to me?
No, the Scorpion cannot accommodate a Bluetooth system, so if you want Bluetooth, you're definitely better off with the Shark. -DrewZilla

Bought a Vega half helmet with the flip down visor before I see this one. Any idea if there's a face shield/mask that works with the Vega helmet?

I just recently received my covert from you guys I notice the visor does not make a seal with the muzzle has this been an issue with others or just mine and should I exchange it?
The visor should definitely make contact with the rubber gasket that runs along to the top of the removable chin bar, but it's not quite as tight of a seal as a normal full face helmet. Do you have helmets that are tinted on the outside but you can see outside completely clear?
The closest option would be a mirrored shield, which will still have a dark smoke tint from the inside.

If they could make this look in a full face I'd buy it in a heartbeat. Looks badass, but I can't justify the safety risk.
Nice looking helmet but it seems like that muzzle is going to come off pretty easy in are crash.

I really want this helmet cus its got that fighter pilot style but as a new motorcycle driver i feel i should get a full faced helmet any suggestions on a full faced helmet wit this same mean look??
I highly recommend getting a full face dual sport helmet and wearing it with its off-road-style peak visor removed. That gives you that aggressive fighter look while being streamlined and protective. Here are some great options. -DrewZilla

I have this one, because it fits perfectly and i love the design. But i never remove the chin piece. So havin the same helmet with some real face protection would be awesome and i would immediately buy one!

I have the Harley Davidson version of this helmet. Harley calls it a 3 in 1 helmet. I usually ride with or without muzzle, but that’s as far as I go. I would love to see this helmet with a wireless Bluetooth coms integrated into the helmet.

Not being able to fit a Sena to this helmet isn't a deal breaker. But I typically ride with a dark smoke shield, and always carry a pair of sunglasses with interchangeable lenses with me. I think I would get the shield tented darker. ill be looking to try this on soon...

Through the double d-ring loop would be the only option which this type of helmet design.
bought this today after trying on 12-15 other helmets that were full face, since I am rocking w an electric scooter wanted something more than a bicycle helmet but was okay not going the full face motorcycle route since it was not comfortable on my cheeks. good enough until I am on a motorcycle after uni
Is it heavy? Like bulky ... i owned a scorpio exo before and it gave me headaches and neck cramps but i love their design so always come back...

For a half helmet, it isn't so bad. But it is pretty limited by its design-- just a half helmet with some extra bits and bobs to cover your face and ears. On the whole, I would say it's still pretty noisy compared to a proper full-face helmet. -Kraus-e

I took off the tinted screen and used clear screen......nowI can’t figure out how to put it back on ......any video on how.....?..
We don't have a video. However, you simply lower the current screen, pull each side out, then insert the new screen into the side slots one side at a time. -DrewZilla
Don't get me wrong, I love my Scorpion EXO-700 and my R410, but they could have just made that a full face helmet and it would sell better I think. Making it a full face opens options for com systems (Go Joe!), better venting, better protection, and maybe a visor lock.How is it as far as aerodynamics go?

Might want to check your facts again, buddy. Shark Raw has a chimney vent.
I like the Scorpion Covert, I think it looks great, but it looks kind of huge. My main concern is the sun visor starting to become "loose" over time and just refuses to stay up when you want it to, or a bump will cause it to come down prematurely if you have it flipped open.
So the muzzle is only for weather protection but not for crash?

Hello why included both visors tinted, the first which is installed in the helmet is slightly tinted second is more toned, there must be one clear for riding at night ??? or at night in the first normally in sight?

about some comments:
a full face helmet is better but still it always depents How you fall.
Would you say its noisy from the wind? Does it push back towards your chin when getting up to some good speed? Does it come w/or have the option to place a clear visor for day riding?
For me, this type of helmet, I would like to use on a scooter(125cc) w/mostly 35 to 50mph range. Well aware anything can happen at any speed. When/if I get into motorcycles(750cc or less), only full face for me. Appreciate any input...

dang no sena, I am in the process of setting setup for my bike license and I need comms (the fun of being on call) but don't want a full face since i think they look silly on cruisers.

No, because it's basically a half helmet plus the lower pieces, there's nowhere to mount a 10S and nowhere to mount the 10S speakers. If you want to use a communicator, I do not recommend this helmet. -DrewZilla

should be fine for that as long as ur not going over 30mph/50kph got one today for my 1600w electric scooter bc I wanted something more than a bicycle helmet

Is the visor ANSI Z87+ rated?
No, it is not ANSI rated. However, it is VESC-8 rated, which is the minimum requirement for motorcycle eye protection here in the US. -DrewZilla

I feel that they could've put an N100 filter under the muzzle for people who ride on the highway a lot. There's some pretty nasty stuff in car exhaust.
looks like a fighter pilots helmet. I like the graphic job, wouldn't mind that pattern on a full face. Still wouldn't get this helmet, simply because of the fact it doesn't have the extra protection of a full face or modular.
it's going to be loud... the muzzle is not adjustable so cross your fingers and hope it fits... looks cool but bell did it better.... my opinion
carlos damian The problem with the Bell is that it's so big it looks absolutely silly on some people. I had the Raw and loved it. Shark helmets are great.

No, that only fits a small number of HJC helmets. The Covert Helmet isn't really a good candidate for communicators. -DrewZilla

I agree it looks goofy with the lower rubber trim removed 5:31 but he’s also wearing it a lot higher than with the face mask! 😂 The visor barely covers his eyes meaning he’d be bling the face in place!
