You hit the nail on the head. I have a tc-60PS that is identical internally. I searched for bad components and did not see the blown capacitor until I saw your video. My unit had the same symptoms. Thank you for taking the time to post.
Thanks for opening my eyes. Went through the usual FF process ended up where you were, cap burnt open exactly as yours. replaced the cap. Driver IC was not shorted like yours, still totally dead though. kicking my butt ATM
Cheers, I already swapped that out with one off a working board no change, also found an open ceramic resistor nearby 0.39 ohms roughly on memory. One thing that's changed is you hear the relays click then front panel goes into blinking code but on the 4th blink (3.5 blinks) it loses power and dies. Power cycle does nothing totally dead. If left for a while it will repeat this cycle.
Thank you for the video! My board has the same failure. Did you end up being able to fix the bad board? I replaced the caps c404 and c403, but it still won’t power on. Just wondering if you figured out which other parts need to be replaced.
@@mntn2846m I went through the ringer with mine. I bought replacements for all 3 power boards and even replaced the power button. Turns out the main power board I received as replacement was also faulty. After spending hours trying to track down the issue and replacing all the transistors and several caps with nothing to show for, I recommend just buying a new board from a reputable shop the actually tests the components on working TV's before selling it.
@@mntn2846m I think it’s worth repairing. I bought a flagship TV after this one broke, but these plasmas are still a very good TV, and if you add thermal paste to the transistors that failed on your replacement board it should last a very long time. For 1080P content it’s a keeper.
Look it up on the board itself, do not expect us to remember specifications of a board we published about 3 years ago or bother to go look it up just out of good feelings for everyone out there who might have a question...have some common sense, please! No offense meant.
@@coppelltvrepair Hey Gerard, Any chance you know the size of the capacitor? I have the same problem. Thanks for all the help and informational videos!

This is amazing. My tv had the exact same failure at C404. Going to replace the board and see if i can get it fixed. Thank you!

Gerard Note the IC may fail without shorting. Not all failures are the same.

can you identify the values of the bad capacitor? I have one that has done the same,
C404 - 330pF/1kV

This is my situation as well, wondering if there is a component kit ?

@@RenRenification thanks for your input. I was hoping to find a simple fix for this old tv. May just send it off to recycle...

Does the power supply board accept 220 voltage?

My cap 404 also blew!
In your video at 11 minutes, you said you would be making a repair kit available. Where can we find this kit?
We never did because all it took was to replace that capacitor..there was simply nothing else that has failed on the board.

@@markskrela4911 I had the same issue and exact same cap blow. 330 pf and 1kVDC ceramic disk capacitor
@@Mr007agent uhoh I replaced mine with a 471pf 1kv since it blew up on the side with the markings and I had to guess. Hope it’s ok!
