One of the best videos I have seen, even showing the hills, well done

Well done all of you! Hopefully doing the Badger myself (in reverse, Glasgow-Inverness) in a couple of weeks. This was really helpful, giving a good look at the terrain, and reinforcing the necessity of bringing a midge net! Thanks ladies!😊

You're very welcome! Good luck on your Reverse Badger. Hoping the midges are significantly less active on your trip! lol

Midges and insects in general are bonkers this year, even here in the Borders where we never normally suffer they're everywhere.

Why didn’t you just hire the van one way to Inverness, then get another back from Glasgow?

And at 25 mins, I run a dropper on my bikepacking bike, with a Wolftooth Valais. Useful for getting a leg over when you’ve a seat pack.
I did the BD in 2022.

We were meeting up with friends in Wales to bike pack there and in England after we finished the Badger.

... we had lots of luggage for sightseeing, etc so the van worked for storage.

@@mimpip9849 ok, just that bikes on trains can be a real PITA unless they're 'commuter' type ones which don't require book.
When I did the Badger a few years ago my entire schedule was dictated by the trains I could book.

This is the most relatable video I have seen about this route. Thank you for taking the time to film and upload this. I don’t think there is another video that shows the amount of uphill pushing needed to complete it! Plenty showing all the downhill sections- but this is far more comprehensive and useful for planning. (I’ve already ditched quite a few things 😂). A couple more captions with your locations at various points would have been super useful- but I still managed to follow you and the route on assorted mapping apps. Thanks again! ❤🚴‍♀️🏕️🦟😮

Glad it was helpful! I'm really terrible at the editing but most of our videos are pretty much home movies we made to share with friends. I was very surprised to see that others actually watched them. I have started to try and put some captions on my later videos, once i figured out how!lol The Badger route is worth the uphill hike-a-bike's! Have a great trip and stay safe out there!

I’ve just realised……there’s no irritating music - just the sounds of actual bike-packing! Because you were recording your journey for family and friends- and not ‘creating content’ for UA-cam is probably one of the reasons why I enjoyed it so much! You don’t seem to have been plagued by punctures or mechanicals either- good planning and maintenance clearly. Very neat set-ups too. Can we tempt you back to the UK to do any more routes….Kings Alfred Way perhaps?! Thanks again.
