Thanks Vero for the epic story you have told about the history of the Château, today my husband and myself we have visited the château. It’s under 5 minutes walk from Clos Lucé but certainly on a path less frequented by the mass tourists and we are glad we are privy to the “insider” info you shared via this video
Rewatched again tonight for our viewing pleasure. Enjoyed when you did this last year. We love Amboise (like Tours). Wanted to visit Gaillard last October but after Clos Luce the rain was too much and got soaked to the bone on our walk back to our fav Amboise hotel, Le Clos d’Amboise.
For anyone interested in seeing the interior of Chateau Gaillard, here's a link. I learned that modern billiards came from King' Louis XI's request for a game of croquet that he could play on a table top! ua-cam.com/video/flJTkOtocmw/v-deo.html

So lovely! A private reward for taking a few more steps than most other tourists. Great story about the bouquet of orange blossoms.
How lovely that you had the garden all to yourself 💜
Wonderful video. Thank you. I am going to make sure that I visit this château when I am in Amboise.
Yes, please do! Most people miss it, and it's so close to le Clos Lucé. :-)
Merci. How lovely to hear from you the story about this magnificent chateau. I will definitely visit it when I’m in Amboise.
You'll enjoy it!

Thank you Greer. That tour is linked in the video notes. It’s excellent, isn’t it?
@@francewithvero Sorry, I should have checked your notes first! yes, it's an excellent tour. I enjoyed testing my French with the subtitles hidden.
