I was working my Spity and door stays are in order for it. Wish mine was in such great shape as yours! I have a long way to go to bring mine to look like that.
I’m looking to do the same job, looks like I’ve got the exact same mirrors as you. Did you find that you didn’t need to add the plate for the mirrors on the other side of the door (behind the door card)? Also which silicone did you use for this?
Hi, thanks for watching no I didn’t need to add the plastic on the other side of the door. I just use normal bathroom sealant as it’s waterproof and it sticks really well.
This is not a criticism, but I see you have copper brake pipes, they are rather soft and easily damaged, best to replace them with Kunifer (Cupro-Nickle) when you can.
Well done on completing your Spitfire, if they are ever really complete!
Thank you and thanks for watching (haha) there a never ending restoration 🤣
that really is a blinding spit. looking forward to the future updates :)
Thanks, I’m thinking of taking it to some classic car shows this weekend. Is Maxey classic car show this weekend and another at Birchgrove on Sunday

Thanks for watching. The door stays a very easy to change you can do it 👍🏻
make sure your oil filter is a non return valve type. critical for the spit blocks
How about fitting the "chrome" trim around the windscreen? Good luck with that!
Hi, I’ve done that on a mini wasn’t too bad on that what it’s like on this I don’t know 🤣🤣
