But I've loved this character since I saw the first trailer with him for SF6, I wouldn't have picked up the game if it wasn't for him, nor have gotten so into it, so I won't drop him. Oddly enough I do usually feel pretty good about losing to a better Honda online myself, but mirror match probably doesn't count for that lol

I've found myself wanting to switch off from a main or pick up a pocket character a few times but always end up feeling overwhelmed or a bit lost when trying out someone new. Luke's feet are loud as hell, I've been noticing this ever since I turned off in-game music. I like playing with my own tunes, but also not having to hear the TMNT music that everyone seems so annoyed by.
The Ken at 13 mins had to have been a knower. There’s no way a diamond Ken plays like that big a coward constantly backing up and never EVER going in unless Sajam puts himself in the corner lol. Who are these players xD
It's amazing to me that people can have any degree of situational awareness in this game blindfolded when I can practically never tell what's happening when I can see it.
You know, more than being able to fight without looking at the screen, I find being able to somewhat tell the life the opponent has much more impressive.

Even after watching this, and dealing with this idiotic, boring character regularly, I'm not even sure how you re-balance him. It almost feels like he needs a full rework, and I highly doubt he'll get that. We don't need to scalp the dude and turn him into sf4 honda, where headbutts are quite punishable and butt slam is pretty terrible, but this version is so senseless on almost all fronts. I've bodied master hondas almost entirely on the fact that they refuse to use normals. Biggest combo I had ever seen one do was no lie, DI into level 3. Sajam rocking like 10x the honda combos than I'm used to seeing. Even worse is if you perfect parry headbutt, or anti-air butt slam properly, the damage doesn't make up for the fact that you only need to eat one of those to equate to the damage you did lol. Butt slam is also a little janky to anti-air, and if you don't notice which he did you get blown up with the punish counter. Just an anti-fun experience all around, at least imo. He's built in a way where there is so little reason to learn or adapt lol. Biggest honda adaptation you'll ever see is them doing light headbutt instead of heavy to bait stuff.
As a *certified* master rank Honda player, I concur with your woes. This character is dumb, and I play off his stupidity to success. Avoid using EX Slam where I can because good players know the timing on it and because regular slam's height changes depending on the button press which makes perfect parries extremely difficult. Mix up headbutt speed to throw off parries - In particular, use light headbutt at long range to fake out parries and get a punish counter command throw when I land in front of them. I use some delicacy here and there. Drive Rush 2MK into whatever, 6HK sometimes to poke, 5HP for punish counters into Drive Rush 5HP and Sumo Dash air juggle, infrequently OD Sumo Dash for frame advantage, 5MP counter hit/meaty into target combo, and of course the stop sign. But headbutt's such an oppressive move. I can choose when I want to rush down or sit back because Honda's privileged like that. I peaked at a 27 win streak on my climb to master and most of the matches were easy-peasy (all that said, I feel zero pity for the divekicking Cammys I beat up on the way... or the JPs who thought they could spike safely at full-screen >_>).
nah it's actually easier for your brain to react to audio indicators than visual. According to google, average reaction time to audio is 8-10 ms while visual is 20-40 ms. Even if he did practice this a bunch off screen it's still very impressive.
This is like my 3-4th time doing it so I have some practice. Also Honda is the easiest character to do this with, I struggle with a lot of other characters trying this
