Jae has been this kind of place for me. I found Day6 and eaJ's music at my toughest times. Not to be dramatic but man literally saved me from my own harmful thoughts. From sharing his own struggles to being silly just chatting and singing along to songs felt like for once I wasn't alone. I am in a much better place now and am not exaggerating that Jae was a big part of it. The thought that the things that healed me are the same things that broke him hurts so much I can't even put it into words. I will be forever grateful for the things that you have done, and I am looking forward to the many more things that you want to do. I'll meet you where no demons come, Jae. GROUP HUUUUUG!!
Honestly I feel the exact same, I completely understand what you were trying to say as well. Ik that the experiences were probably very different but I think we can unite in the similarity especially how Jae has helped us so much in our journey to get better. I’ve only really listened to day6 and Jae for the past four days but already they have become such a big part of my life and their music has spoken right to my heart. I’ve honestly already gotten a lot better before getting worse again and that’s the time where Jae and day6 came and really helped a lot more and I have no doubt they will continue to do so in the future.

I have been down and out many times, and during a shit ton of those occasions I have turned to music and videos of your antics. there's something about you I always felt wasn't superhuman but rather just- SUPER human :]

We as fans have seen so many talented artists fade from authenticity and even die due to the weight of the world that gambles with your future.... Even if you choose to stay with the industry I think more people believe there's more for you out there.
For a while I was afraid that you would be the next one to go on a line of souls who have been shaped out like dolls and treated as replaceable commodities. The whole time I've known you through your music I felt that something hadn't sat right in my stomach from the environment you are in.... The way you carry yourself, talk, sing, and preform isn't something you can replicate. I didn't want to see that kind of soul fade away because of a greedy industry.... Whatever your plans may be I just want you to know that any grief put on others is not your fault, and any backlash you may receive is temporary.
the structure of this song is Genius, the way jae's part sounded like one song and keshi's part an other song, and then combining both aspects of each part at the end was so BRILLIANT!! im addicted to this song!!
A lot of day6 songs have this type of structure. They start with usual pop rock and suddenly there is raggae in the middle and finish it with ballad. Jae is one of the reason why day6 songs didnt sound the same and boring. But somehow alot of day6 fan didnt get this, jae's influence on day6 songs is big.

THEIR VOICES ARE SO PERFECT AND THE LYRICS OMGQLQQW I’M CRYING
this song is a great example of a collaboration between two similar, yet unique artists. lemme explain.
with jae's verse and chorus, it leans heavily into the synths, sub basses, and more artificial sounds with a pop sheen to it. then when keshi's verse (and everything past that) it leans more towards his style with the melancholic guitars, trap style drums, and 808's. and it all sounds amazing. theres also a similar song that kinda fits this, "catering to a specific artist in one song kinda deal," which is sicko mode by travis scott and drake.
that song has 3 unique beats that are tailored to the artists in their own respective styles, but the way the switch between the beats are rather jarring on the first listen. the thing i find cool about pillows however is they seamlessly transition from eaj's style to keshi's, probably because they're still technically the same beat, but thats besides the point. it allows for alot of variety and doesnt make the song boring.

As someone who's still experiencing some wild anxiety, this song is one of the songs that can calm me down. Its sad lyrics are not really something to cry to in the dark. For me, it's comforting. It gives solace and sense of comrade. Loneliness is something to share. We thought it'll be great to be alone in the dark but honestly we're all just lost shadows finding someone to lean on and someone who'll shed light about this weird feeling.
I love your words I also suffer anxiety attacks sometimes and recently they want to increase so knowing the way he and others are dealing with it is inspiring and create a supportive environment ♡

I love how the song is about a mutual rebound hookup or something of the sort while the music video takes a sharp left into "man reminisces about his potentially dead ex-wife/fiancée at night," but they both work so well with each other.
The song is about holding onto something concrete, and so is the music video. eaJ and keshi are asking a girl to hold onto them in an intimate way after a rough day, presumably a breakup. The man in the video, however, is trying to cling onto memories of this woman. Considering he's alone in bed, my best guess is that this woman is a former fiancée or ex-wife. With the mournful atmosphere of the video, it's likely that this woman is dead, so he's using these old memories to remind himself of her and give him some temporary form of stability.
This song's crazy good bedroom pop, and I love me some *deep lyrics*. Heard of Jae and keshi before, but I only really got into them after I started watching Arcadum's D&D stream, Weal and Woe, where they're both players. I love their music, and their friendship feels so genuine! Can't wait to learn more about y'all

man i’m so proud of Jae, and i think the eaJ project was probably the best decision he’s ever made. he’s experimenting with such different styles and we get to see him grow as a lyricist, vocalist, and person. he’s discovering his own sound, and it’s like he’s finding himself again, which is such a precious thing. despite missing DAY6 as ot5, i’m really thankful that Jae was able to do this project. this year has been tough, but he’s unintentionally bringing beauty out of it by utilizing it as a time to reflect and grow.
we love you Jae, continue to do what you love, and keep growing. i can’t wait to see what you do next

Its amazing how their verses are in their own style, like you can see their individuality in their verses. I dont know how to explain but Jae's verse is soo Jae! And Keshi's verse is so Keshi!! Not just their voices but the style, the way they sing. Their music is so different like Jae is kinda techno (idk how to explain) and keshi is acoustic (with the guitars) but in this song its a perfect combination of both, and they are both represented so beautifully and well placed. I’ve been trying to articulate my thoughts through the past five relistens, and I finally managed, barely.
First off, the MV is beautiful. It’s gorgeous. It’s heartbreaking. It’s everything one would expect, and more. I love how it seems to signify that when the voices in our heads are too loud, the ones on our side also feel like they are the ones who are involved in pulling us deeper into the rabbit-hole, even though they might be trying to actually pulling us out. And all it takes is one good head-space day to see the reality for what it is. That doesn’t mean that it won’t go back to feeling caught up and tied up in other people, but that’s not all it will always be.
The song itself… well the instruments are… **melts** I love love love the guitar.
The lyrics, both Jae and Casey’s parts are so…them. I liked how they seemed to entwine, just like the dancers in the video, stretching and collapsing and extending… it felt like a hug and letting go, only to pull and hold closer, tighter. And the words… they broke my heart and made it whole and warmed it up before chilling it again - since I replayed it the moment it ended.
All I can say is… thank you for sharing this with us. Thank you.

The way they put the words, the progression of the story, wow. I think, this is written with pure intentions that even if we're lonely af, there's still this one thing that can ease that loneliness, even if it's all done, this song reminds us that it is okay to feel things, to share your feelings, whether it's good or bad. eaJ and keshi, genius writers.
