Never heard of Jim Nabors before this week. Now, thanks to a UA-cam recommendation, I am watching episodes of Gomer Pyle USMC (thoroughly enjoying them) and listening to Jim’s beautiful albums. What an amazingly talented man he was.
You should be believe it gomer he has beautiful singing voice everyone has a voice but not a singing voice singing voice it's part of your voice too if someone who's stealing everyone singing voice i say everyone has no talent sing they sing it's sucks
This makes me cry every time I hear it because I think of my father who died back in 1997. I really do miss him so much. I saw this episode of Gomer Pyle last night and really enjoyed it but the song made me cry.
Rest in peace buddy.. I appreciate the good times you gave me and my papa😪you inspired from kids to the elderly folk. Watch over us PFC Gomer Pyle and golly!
I used to go down the back paddock, AND loving animals, I used to sing this particular song to"TAN", the horse, always with his head over the fence, into the paddock. Dad always said 'TAN' the horse, loved me, & watched me making my way, through knee-hi grass, to sing to him.
My dad used to sing this song to us kids when we were young many years ago there were 7 of us kids sadly 2 have died I'm 70 now but every time I hear this it brings me back to a 7 year old listening to my dad
Jim was a very good singer. I am glad that he got the film company to let him perform, even if it was as a scared marine. Today is the anniversary of my Dad's birthday. We lost him in 1996. I misd him all the time.
I had no idea Jim Nabors sang this Bert Kaempfert's classic. This was my dad's favorite song for his dad (my grandpa). Little did I know, I would end up singing this and Elvis Presley's "I Believe" to my dad at his own funeral. 😢
R I P Mr. Nabors. His singing voice was a gift from God and now Mr. Nabors is up in Heaven singing with the Angels I can picture Gomer in the Angel choir singing alongside Andy and Barney and Howard and Aunt Bee and Thelma Lou and Floyd the Barber and Goober and Ottis the drunk LOL touches the heart of the kid in me I can really picture all of those characters and how they would be acting and singing with one another :)
I sang in church recently and someone told me I reminded them of Gomer Pyle. I was like, "um... what??" Apparently that's a good thing. Had to look up videos of Jim Nabors singing, and yeah, he's pretty great.
Growing up, the first time I saw the ads for his album, I thought it was a joke. The truth of the matter is that Jim Nabors rivaled even the great Elvis Presley when he sang it slow and sweet.
At the moment i am watching the series Gomer Pyle U.S. M C.i think Jim Nobors was a wonderful man,i heard this song a few days ago in the episode which features this beautiful song,i heard this song a very long time ago, when Jim sings this song it has me in tears he sings it so beautifuly.
Marty Charles and Father....Irwin Battered and with Strength we shall always Love Him Until Today...Eternal of His Life Times Continuum...poor boys of mama and Life Time Conspiritual
that was Lys Assia’s hit in the days ago. “O mein Papa war eine wundervolle Mann, oh mein Papa war eine gross Kinstler.” (Kuenstler). Aus der Opera “der schwarze Hecht” von Paul Burkhard. . Never heard it in english. Jim Nabors did a great job, especially with his wonderful voice.
Well it IS his real voice, but I think if he sang much deeper for this song it would’ve taken away from the feel of the song, it was supposed to be soft and sweet
What a beautiful voice! It's very moving and tender. Nobody could sing quite like Jim. RIP.
Not every day you get the privilege to watch a true talent sing and sing with such clarity and beauty. Perfect. Nuff said.
In this same episode he sings this song in Italian and it is phenomenal!!!..rest in peace, Jim, what great man.
Jim Nabors had such a beautiful singing voice!! He was hilarious as Gomer Pyle. God rest his soul.
Amen!🙏🏻❤️
The most incredible voice I've ever heard. RIP, Jim.
Jim Nabors does my favorite version of this song. His voice is beautiful, and there is a tenderness in it that really comes through here. Very moving!
I know. I wish I could find his rendition on Spotify.

My mom told me Gomer could sing beautifully. I didn’t believe her. I hate when she’s right lol.
I think he was beautiful all the way through.
You shouldn't hate it. Just learn from her ❤️
Hahaha

Thank you for the wonderful memories. R.I.P. Jim Nabors.
What an amazing voice.
R.I.P im 12 and i am still watching him. Your never to young or to old
I've never understood the completely unnecessary laugh track when the man's brought to tears.
Rusty Wolfe It shouldn't have been there.
Rusty Wolfe I was a comedy show.
Yes. That's where the scene was shot. But the laughter was canned, just like on M*A*S*H. And it was 100% unnecessary during that beautiful song.
To have to explain a joke is to ruin a joke, so imma leave you to your pondering.
The Gomer Pyle show was one of the reasons I never owned a TV for the longest time....
Beautifully sung!😢.I does make me cry. I do miss my Dad and my Mom, too. We lost a wonderful man and performer.
I wish we had a clip of Jim singing the National Anthem. He sang it for
many years at the Indy 500.
I am not complaining , but this is one of the few times I can remember hearing a little of his Gomer voice come through. I like it.
Such a lovely rendition of such a lovely song!
I used to go down the back paddock, AND loving animals, I used to sing this particular song to"TAN", the horse, always with his head over the fence, into the paddock. Dad always said 'TAN' the horse, loved me, & watched me making my way, through knee-hi grass, to sing to him.
Jim grew up down the road from me as his family lived Three house's down.
I'm amazed about how crystal clear this video footage is, and the very good color.
Such a talented man.
Great Song! Love this version!!

If you're not touched by this, you have no heart.
Dud you know there's a reference to this song in Garfield?
that was Lys Assia’s hit in the days ago. “O mein Papa war eine wundervolle Mann, oh mein Papa war eine gross Kinstler.” (Kuenstler). Aus der Opera “der schwarze Hecht” von Paul Burkhard. . Never heard it in english. Jim Nabors did a great job, especially with his wonderful voice.
May he Rest In Peace
The laugh track messed up the scene when the nightclub owner was crying. It interupted gomer singing.
That was sweet that this gangster cried like a baby when he heard that song!
they sang this on the mr.ed talking horse show also .🐎
much LOVE Kimmyssong
OMG i miss my papa
Even the mob has a heart
RIP Jim Nabors
Odd! This is not Nabors' real voice -- he's singing as his character. His real voice is much more powerful than this.
He did it all.
Well it IS his real voice, but I think if he sang much deeper for this song it would’ve taken away from the feel of the song, it was supposed to be soft and sweet
Impossible dream was sang on the show. Well done and we really saw his talent shine through, then. RIP, Jim.
This is his real voice I’m only 11 and I know that
aye. The man's baritone was beautiful.
Gomer got loads of attention from that. Any club would have been glad to have him sing.
