@@ArtsyIslandGirlJamaicanVlogs While I'm thrilled of the development that's happening in Montego Bay, I wholeheartedly ALSO belive that more emphasis should be placed on integrating businesses and attractions that's located throughout the city that attract both tourist and locals. I believe this would ensure that tourism dollars would be pumped into local businesses and tourists can get a sense of Montego Bay outside of the attractions that's marketed primarily toward them. Furthermore, they need to have outlets that attract tourists and locals who have no problem spending money and lots of it, again pumping this money into local businesses. I'm sure it would improve employment and provide more people of Montego Bay with competitive salaries. So while this particular attraction is a wonderful idea, I don't see it really impacting the citizens of Montego Bay
@Wade W I understand what you are saying, and agree to some extent. However coral reefs are also very important to our environment and also to the Jamaican economy. Healthy coral reefs not only attracts tourists but more importantly it attracts so much biodiversity and creates healthier marine life. It also helps to combat shoreline degradation, plus many other benefits. That discussion starts at 7:08 in the video. The underwater structures will serve as articial coral reefs and encourage growth of marine life in that area.
@@ArtsyIslandGirlJamaicanVlogs I fully support the idea especially where marine life is concerned. I'd just like for them to expand the way they're developing to ensure that nature is preserved ...but people are employed and tourist and locals alike can enjoy the city together. I hate to do this.....but kind of like New York or Paris....there's enough attraction for both tourist and locals and local businesses benefits..... Good job on your videos by the way. Montego Bay was so different when I left in 2004....so much development has happened. I can only imagine the next 10 to 20 yrs and people will look back at your videos and be like ....Mobay has come quite a way.....it has grown even more. But yes improving and protecting the marine life is extremely important.
Effective local government reform to include parish council led regional county councils (ones that are fiscally and technically empowered to coordinate the comprehensive spatial management of the flora/fauna resources of the parishes via county based General -land use- Plans and planning department) would be a critical way to go....
Regional county based regional General (land use) Plans managed by county based planning departments and overseen by a regional board of PC mayors would do a more effective GRASSROOTS led job of managing the island's physical development by protecting ecosystems from Ridge to Reef.

The PM says an Oceanarium is planned for Mobay and should be executed by the UDC. You could look into that.
Definitely will...another exciting one added to my list. Thanks for the suggestion Duke.
