I cannot count how often I flew with my bicycle through the streets with this track on my headphones and loved everything, the will to life, the warmth, the speed, the optimism; and the possibility that the gates of heaven could open some fine day for everyone who is alive.
I listened to this disturbing earwax, guitar world just featured an article about this band, christian black metal (oxymoron) with orchestral /jazz influences. Sorry not accepting this as black metal. Vocals akin to a barb-wire-crowned vulture having it's private parts dissolved by sulphuric acid. Laugh My D Off would be apt, but not laughing - cleansed the ears with new Marduk.
As much as I love Liturgy, I can see where you’re coming from. I recommend listening to their most recent record called 93696. Or just stick with Marduk.

Keep pissing off the black metal staus quo please. I find it so funny that a subculture w capes and make up can be so territorial, puritanical, ignorant, and unwelcoming to something they find different or threatening. A little bubble of snow flakes playing by a formula is a waste and laughable. So many great elements to the “genre” such a shame to put it in a box.

Not even a huge fan of Black Metal, but I get your point. They've only took the sound, not the aesthetic, which probably pisses off a lot of traditionalists. I'm still on the fence with the band. I like their compositions, like their great playing live and their overall unashamed ideas of merging positive emotions with intense blast beats and tornadoes of metal riffs, but the vocals needs improvement. It kinda rubs me the wrong way how she yells, without understanding the lyrics. A band like Swans can create an atmosphere as powerful and dense as Liturgy, but with clear lyrics and theme that you can understand while getting your brain blown out.

The best black metal treads a fine line between sounding objectively terrible but atmospheric and raw, and just being downright unpleasant to listen to. Your vocals cross that line. I think you've got the wrong end of the stick a bit. But I have to say your sounds of utter distress are very convincing. Like, if I played it loud enough the neighbours would be on the blower to 999, convincing. There's something to be said for that.
