You should take my class on that bike. You wouldn't have to worry about dropping it and it would make a good youtube video.

A friend of mine had a shovelhead that he built ground up. The motor was put together on his coffee table and sat there for 10 years before he finally got the frame work finished and mounted it in. It was dubbed the paperweight due to its resting place on the table and was an instant show winner the very day after its completion. Stories are fucking awesome bro.

A good top to bottom washing, polish and detail job, along with some gloss black rattle can paint for the frame where you need it, and that bike won't look half bad. Just needs some love. My first bike was a 1976 Superglide (AMF model), with an old school King/Queen seat. Totally awesome !!!!

Congrats on the sporty. Too bad you didn't start with a fxr or dyna as they have alittle bit more weight and handle better down the hwy, wind, bumps, etc. Sportys are top heavy where ass dynas and softails weight are bottom. Good luck and most importantly, have fun with the freedom 👍

When I bought my 95th Anniversary Road Glide (1998) it was far from stock, 10 years later I was able to finish it and now it is 99.99% stock and has 136,000 miles on on it. I was fortunate enough to get the Chief designer of this particular model (Willie G) to autograph her last year while at Daytona.

This looks awesome as a project bike. A bit like a mangy scraggly cat or dog looking for a new home and some veterinary care. Sure she'll take some work, but think of the love that this machine is waiting to give you. She purrs nicely, but with a parts transfusion, new oil and bits she'll soar like the eagle she once was.

I think it went for around $7000.00 back then. I crashed it in '89. We fixed it up and he made me get back on. Still riding today, thanks to him. I have had a '65 pan for about 22 years now. I wouldnt worry about what ppl say about 1.75" drag pipes. Yes they produce more high end power but the sound on a shovel or evo cant be beat. At 1.75" and smaller, they create their own back pressure. Its when you get into 2" and bigger on open pipes is when you will need a lollipop or 1" long baffle. I have Squeeks Big Twins Public Enemies 2 into 1 on my bike now (posted on youtube) but i still have my 1.75" cycle shacks put away for the future 👍 Nice bike man.

    Its not just a Harley-Davidson, its a Harley-Davidson FXR!
First thing you need to do to it is turn the idle up to 950-1,00 rpm, Evos don't make enough oil pressure any lower, then loose the drag pipes, they only really work at WOT.
Its gone to the right place.

I had to buy it to see what all the fuss was about. Within 20 minutes of swinging a leg over it I understood. The rumble, the vibrating. The torque...
A year later my Dad threw a leg over and came back 10 mins later with a big ass grin on his face too.

I finished my MSF course last week and this week I bought my first bike a VTX1300C yes might be a little big but I love it. It has a interchange and the Vance and Hines Big Shot exhaust it can be loud going down the street but people can here coming
