I took AW7 on my first marathon. Charged it to 100%. Felt a little bit stressed when I checked battery at about 21k and it showed 40% 🙃 Luckily, I noticed it, turned low power mode and finished with 9%. Unfortunately, without music during the second half
Just switched from Garmin 955 to ultra 2. I have installed WorkOutDoors, athyletic, YouRace, footpath and Stryd. Anything here that I am missing to get the best running experience? Made the change as I loved the Garmin particular peters Race pacer, but wanted the smart features for my day to day non running enjoyments. Thanks and great video.
I have a Garmin 965 but the series 9 is honestly good for anything up to a marathon or even a shorter ultra. it's the best all-round watch imo. also it charges up quickly, you can buy cheap mobile chargers that slip into a pocket so if you're out and about can quickly charge it. low power mode doubles the battery life btw to 36 hrs. I use the athlytic app which gives me all the same features that a Garmin does. and its cheap too.
I find AW gets let accurate over time by using too much running analytics instead of just pace and GPS like most watches. I've had to reset my workout data before just to reset the analytics and get more accurate pacing. This inconsistency means I need to use 3rd party apps vs. AW dedicated Workouts app in races, bit of an annoyance.
I have the same problems with high HR readings and the watch also stops recording HR for a big part of the run. I have tried different nike bands and used it tight to my wrist but the outcome is the same!
Do you think a series 9 could be enough to run a marathon ? I only want one watch and don’t want a Garmin and an Apple Watch. Otherwise, I guess I’ll have to go with an Ultra
Hi Nick what's your opinion on Athlytic app? Do you see value in using it as an alternative (albeit not comprehensive) to Garmin's analytics suite or is not accurate enough for a runner that trains regularly ?
I have the series 9 and I use a chest strap. It allows me to wear my watch over the sleeve when I’m running outside and helps the battery last longer since it’s using the chest strap for heart rate readings and not the watch. I use the smart watch features more so that’s why I’ve stuck with the Apple Watch even though I’m running more now
@@mrbartuss1 I have the garmin HRM Pro Plus. Caught it at a good price on Amazon. An another video I watched ranked that one and the polar H10 really high in accuracy
apple will do anything but increase the battery life on their watches lmao
To sell their chargers
😭😭😭

Is there less heart rate reading with low power mode ? Can we activate it the mode with a heart rate belt?
I’ve watched a dozen reviews and comparisons and this comment was more helpful than every single one of them.

I’ll try those but I’ve found “Healthfit” amazing for recording run data. It’s a phone app, not watch.
Nice Apps 👍 They are complaining about the features in the videos but did not search for an app 😅

I got this yesterday as my regular watch but ran with it this morning, along with my Garmin 965 and it was spot on (10.05 vs 10.04).
Which one is better?

Great idea! What chest strap can you recommend?
