Love your teaching! I’m in the Cumberland river bottoms and found a bunch of brokes and one complete head today. There are thousands of flakes in the fields I search.
I like the modified scoop, obviously, like all tools has some limitations, but you still found some cool stuff for your efforts. Thanks for sharing the adventures and the innovation
That was a great looking Arrowhead Mr clegg have you ever been to the other side of the river ❓ get your shovel and basket and get on back down there quick as you can because I'm ready to see some good ones and I'm sure everybody else is too so I hope you had a Merry Christmas and maybe you'll have plenty of good finds in 2025 👍🙂✌️
High tension, waiting for that "you ain't gonna BELIEVE THIS"... We live near the Potomac in WV and hunt when we can. Thanks for taking us on your adventures.
Glad to see the scooper sifter back in action 👍 To bad the sand was deep. Great side notch rescued in that short amount of time tho. Thanks for another great adventure!
Awesome finds brotha, i have my grandparents collection of artifacts they collected from Iowa. I have only found one very small point in virgina along the Potomac. I do have a large megalodon tooth that has been worked to make a spear point. That was one of my coolest finds
With many, many hours digin-n-siftin under my belt I now think it would have been better if I had spent any where near as much time documenting each piece's discovery. Stuff like the exact location when found. Although it's hugely rewarding to show a frame full of magic history that you and Rocky brought to life to your grand-kids or the cool new neighbors a little more of each glistening piece''s story could have been preserved. I thought about doin it back then and even mentioned it to my Rocky but he is so much like your Rocky and he wasn't interested at all.
Great video full of useful and accurate information as usual. I'm still trying to build my own scooper sifter but the hardware on the weed whacker I'm using is too light weight. I'll get one built soon tho.
i live on big miami river that runs into the ohio which i also own properties on. so i need to get this home made scoop of yours because i have endless river banks to search. I also saw someone made a fold out chair into a fold out portable sifter. so you bring your shovel with you then unfold the portable sifter to throw your dirt into thats a smart idea to be stealth mode lol
Aren't you ever tempted to have a go at the bank proper and see what finds might be there? I don't think I'd be able to restrain myself..."get me shovel!"🙂
Clegg, do you know of any native activity around the gauly river bridge area in WV, Ill be down there this summer visiting family and not sure it’s worth looking or not, there was a lot of coal mining in the area and lots of logging currently. Not sure if that changes anything

I think you have the best hobby. Was Wondering If a rake on the scoop facing into the dirt would help you get deeper.

So the scooper sifter is that a lawnmower blade? What is the bracket for the basket?
It’s a piece of stainless steel to dig and protect the digging edge
Awesome man. I just found my first adena point in my backyard. Made from kanawha black. Scott Depot Wv
Very Nice
No short cuts here, pure labor
That thing is labor for sure! But works well

Well done finding that one nice point brother! 😉

Were you able to preserve that section of bow you pulled out that burn layer a while back?
My friend has it, he’s trying to
What are those 3 columns out in the river
Water intake protection. They suck water here to frack gas wells
You should do more videos! Have you ever thought about putting a grab handle on your scooper sifter about halfway up?
@@marynewton-e3x I need to do something with it, it slips out of my hands sometimes
The scooper shifter is a good idea but, seems to be more work. Nice finds though!
Yeah, I just mostly made it to carry along on surface hunts, gets quick samples
Did you get your rocky character idea from the Art Bell Spoofs?

The small hematite dis might be a paint pot for ochre

Hey Clegg, I'm curious, are you concerned at all that the modified scoop will break artifacts?
It hasn’t yet. Hopefully I don’t
Man I hate to pass any judgement but honestly 4 or 5 scoops with that basket and boom there's a arrowhead 😂
