You can also get a frame at a thrift shop for pretty cheap! :)
Just what I was looking for, very helpful. Thank you Sarah!
Great video tutorial! Love the lettering!!!!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it :)
can actually just race over the glass with the template behind. I'm new to lettering, it's easier to trace over my design :)
I agree, it would be so much easier
really cool, thanks for showing the entire process!
you're welcome! :)
looks very pretty
What app or program did you use on typist iPad for this?
Did you use anything to seal it afterward? I’m doing the same thing and I’m afraid it’ll scratch?
no you don't need to seal it. It can scratch yes but it would need to be a hard scratch.. so it's pretty durable for light usage.
what app/program did you use to mock up your design?
I used the procreate app on the ipad pro with the apple pencil :)
Is there a way to add gloss effect to this?
hmmm, I'd look around and see if you could find a glossy finish pen other wise you can coat it with a finish but then the sign would be permanent
Hi! Just wanna ask what font style did you style? What font styles would you recommend? Thanks.
Hello! It's not a font, it's my hand lettering (from my head haha). A great place to get some inspo is myfont.com!
Sarah Types I thought you're guided by some type of font. Lol. You're good! Thanks.
What pen do you use on the glass? Thank you.
Sharpie Med Oil Paint Pen: amzn.to/2owXpRV
what type of font is that one?
It's hand lettered :)
Beautiful but above my writing skills... I want to trace
Cool. Good job. But too complicated.
هل من عرب هنا؟.
this one was definitely a difficult one compared to lots of other ones and therefore I did not finish watching the vid. there were so many steps that were so unnecessary. like why do so much work when there are simpler ways of doing it?
what is the simpler way?
It might be faux to you but to me, it is really nice I like your letters even better so when can you stop over to do mine :P I wish I had picked up one of those chalk pens many times I am at Michaels and see them and say what would I need that for? well hello, I paint all the time and never use it but its surely a great idea now that I need to do something similar great tip and thank you for sharing ...
just grab one next time you're there, i'm sure that will be soon! hahaha
Let me know if there are any DIY's you want to see!
amei amei amei amei amei!!! Obrigada!!!! Uhuuu
Hi @SarahTypes going to try doing a seating plan using this technique. Can you let me know if by doing it on plastic has the same effect, or it must be glass? thanks
should be the same!
Great advice for our Brides! :)
Hello! If I were to use a frame that is made of lightweight styrene instead of glass, would the same materials work? Thank you in advance! Looking to purchase this one at Michael's: www.michaels.com/honey-belmont-frame-by-studio-decor/10487720.html?productsource=PLPRV#jmp-view-desc
What can I use to write permanently on plexiglass?
how many coats do you have to do? I have these sharpie pens but even after about 3 coats its still quite faint unlike yours in the video
i do one, maybe two... make sure you are pressing them so there is enough ink coming out first.. they shouldn't be that watery
This is so pretty and cute wording!
Off topic but what is the background music?
I'm so sorry but I don't know, I'm pretty sure I got it from the youtube audio library.. I need to get better about putting the artist in my description!
I haven’t watched it all the way through but I hope you noticed that your sweet tea is missing a t lol
Ok good you did 😂
@@sheilaramirez6444 hahahahaha thank you though!
Really great thanks beautiful work
Omg!! I didn’t even pay attention that this was your video until it came to the end and you said Sarah Types! I heard the Canadian accent but didn’t think anything of it. I am going to attempt one of these projects. Haha that is so coincidental . Glad it was you because I liked yours the best out of the rest I was watching lol!
HAHAHA glad you liked mine the best! And Canadian accent??haha
Sarah Types I really did love yours the best. I was like...I love the font she uses and you were super thorough in explaining what you use and the process ! And yes total Canadian accent! It’s the best! I’ve always wanted one haha
hahaha.. thanks for the feedback!
Can I do this with a Sharpie paint pen on plexiglass?
Yes definitely! I prefer oil based.
What iPad app is that?
procreate!
What app did you use on your IPad to create it? X
I'm using Procreate on the ipad pro :)
What were the fonts used?
can i do this on a mirror?
yep! exactly the same thing :)
Do you seal it with anything?
Nope! It should stay on pretty well - to remove it I used windex :) (you can also use a straight blade)
What application is that on the IPAD?
Procreate
What fonts are those that you used? :)
Everything was actually all hand written :)
@SarahTypes
oh, I meant on the iPad? isn't that some sort of Word font or? :)
Everything on that iPad is drawn by hand with the apple pencil :)
does the oil sharpie stay on glass permanently?
it's not permanent, it's stays put but you can remove it with rubbing alcohol or straight blade :)
I find that when I fill in the downstrokes it doesn't have a very solid white look. Do I have to fill the strokes a few times to get the colour to be fully white?
sometimes this happens with the sharpies - make sure to press down the nib before applying it so there is a lot of ink there. Also Posca makes some great pens too! But yes a few strokes is usually what I have to do.
