Вставка
- Опубліковано 2 сер 2024
- NFL Academy quarterback George Reynolds is about to take the next step in his football journey, leading the way for British quarterbacks in college football.
From first picking up a ball with the Kent Exiles, to making the GB squad and training with Andrew Luck - George has been working towards this moment his entire life.
And after spending the last two years honing his skills with the NFL Academy in London, he’s officially committed to join the University of Ottawa - and is now looking to become the first English-born QB to play Canadian college football.
This is his story so far - and it’s only just the beginning.

Imagine all the trash talk he’s gonna get on the field for being British. It would make mic’d up a lot funnier
Lots of tea jokes i would imagine
You’re comment is a micro aggression
@leecrat yo im deadddd 💀 ☠ 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
If he plays in fox borough, it’s gonna be ALOT from the stands
💀💀 gonna be funny af but all love fr
Good luck George - the whole of the UK behind you mate.
and the US as well
@@lugnutfan13 indeed!
Isn't the word "mate" used for the Australian language?
Australians speak English, mate.
@Cian MacGana Interesting... care to go into detail of these “child-related” offences that you are speaking of?
I couldn't be happier knowing that football has finally started to spread beyond the United States. It's a great game. Good luck in Ottawa kid; Canadian football is a lot different than American football. Different field dimensions, multiple men in motion, different rules but in essence it's the same beautifully violent game!
And missing field goals can still result in points.
It started to be time ago tho, even though he was the only one, a Mexican native and coming from Mexico started a game for cardinals on 2006 I think.... it was early 2000.... look it up, rolando Cantu
@@henryjw15 well not exactly, if a missed field goal or punt is not returned from the endzone you get a point.
American football has been played outside of the US for over a hundred years. What are you talking about, homz?
In Canada, our balls are bigger
His former NFL academy teammate Darren Agu is a 3 star TE playing at Rabun Gap in Georgia he has over 24 D1 offers including Auburn Ole miss and Penn state
His other former teammate Seydou Traore is a 3 star recruit who committed to Arkansas state. Don’t sleep on the UK
Eh just cause your highly recruited doesnt mean you made it.
@@unclerico1106 he committed to Notre Dame
it’s cool seeing a kid from the UK so passionate about football
As a 40 year old English man, this gives me hope that I might one day achieve my dream and make it as a QB in the NFL... What? A man can dream can't he?
I'm watching Ottawa from now on. Good luck mate, do us proud!
You can do it
KEEP GRINGING
If Tom Brady can do it, so can you!!!
@Cian MacGana ...
You’ll do it Matt. In 60 years you’ll make history by making a 100 yard winning touchdown for the Cleveland Browns winning them their first SuperBowl
Crazy the impact andrew luck had during his short career
I remember chucking some balls around with George a few years back at NFL UK flag competitions. Even then he had such passion for it. I'm sure Neil is so proud. Good luck to you and your Family.
Really?
Best of luck mate 💪🏻
Good luck George from an English NFL and Pittsburgh fan. Fingers crossed that you end up in the NFL
It’s exciting to think about how much potential talent there is overseas that just never have the opportunity because it’s not popular over there
The British American Football league has some pretty decent players. But with no way to contact & send tape to NFL teams they’ll go vastly unnoticed
@@shucklevision6718 they don't have internet ?
@@Brandon-og2sv as far as I’m aware NFL teams don’t have any public information regarding how to contact their scouting department. Of course we have internet here
Go get it kid.
Love that American 🏈 is reaching others places!!!
Good Luck George. You'll love it in Ottawa. Marcel Bellefeuille is a good coach. He use to coach in the CFL with Hamilton. You're in good hands with him
He has to really shine in University of Ottawa to be noticed by the NFL scouts since that’s a Canadian university that doesn’t play the big universities in the USA. I wish him the best but my prediction would be that he’d end up in the CFL instead of the NFL. Hope I’m wrong
That'd still be impressive tbf
It’s still tough for Canadian university QBs to make the CFL. Most cfl qbs are American
Most CFL QBs have D1 / D2 NCAA experience, even those odds are extraordinarily long for him..
I think the goal of the NFL academy was to spread the game and get players to play over here in the US or Canada.
It will be difficult for him to play for the University of Ottawa.
Best of luck mate hope you go all the way!
Would be quite something if he makes it into the NFL
it would be hard to make it from Canada. but the cfl is not out of the realms of possibility
Needs to bulk up. American high schoolers are bigger then he is. Not being mean but what the body has to take in this sport, he going have put on weight.
Hopefully the school hes going too has a good strength and conditioning program, but idk that school.
Regardless rooting for him.
University of Alabama won’t even bother to look at you if you don’t fit their weight size.
@@Bakarost he's 6'1'' 190lbs so he'll definitely need to hit the weight room, the average QB weight in college is around 205 so it's not *too* far off, certainly do-able.
They're always taking water boys
Well done George, living the dream. Great to see Neil right there supporting him after regularly beating the Exiles in early 90s (way before George's time).
Good luck George mate can't wait to see you in the nfl
Im headed to U of Ottawa next year. Can't wait to watch him ball out or play with him even
Wonderful to see him breaking barriers! What true bravery!
Good luck man. I hope the best for you. Even if you end up in the CFL that's making a living doing what you love and creating an example for future people who have the same dream to follow.
I'll be rooting for him.
Completely impressed. Best of luck to you. Realize you are a pioneer and the journey you take will change your life. Keep fighting and keep working. Cheers brother
As a Brit if I was him and passed for a TD I’d pretend to sip tea. So many Americans think it triggers us but we love it looool
Big up George, keep killing it!! 🇬🇧
Keep grinding 🤙🏾
Good luck George, I wish NFL was as mainstream when I was a kid, because this is the road I would have dreamed of!
Good luck George we hope you reach your dream!
Keep on grinding George
Go go George good luck from 🏴 🏈
Great story, congratulations. Hard work and dedication personified. Good luck in Canada.
Good luck mate 👏🏻 🇬🇧
It would be awesome to see international players in the NFL. A British quarterback would be welcomed in the NFL.
George, best of luck in Ottawa, mate. As you know, the game in Canada is a bit different to the American game, but take whatever steps you need to, to fulfill that dream. And get that education!
Good luck George!
Awesome to see! Wish the NFL Europe would have been more successful. Always loved watching back in the day. Good luck my guy!
Ayeeee Ottawa Gee Gees! You have a fan in Ottawa already!
Best of luck bruther!
Good video, good luck George --- you win games and you will get noticed!
2:06 Legit grown ass man coming for him
Odds are stacked against you young man, but with extreme hard work and perseverance anything is possible!
Go on fella, hope he smashes it
Love the Football "American football" is being more of a global game. I just the other day watched college & pro football from Japan. I really hope this young fellas dose amazing & even more hope other European players come to North America to play football at the next level
My dream is to get into a college to play football and eventually the nfl and this has inspired me to take those first steps into college
A positive bloke good luck mate!
Let's go George
Good luck🔥💯
Have fun playing for the Gee-Gees buddy. I played Canadian University football, it’s a lot of fun and you’re gonna love Ottawa.
This amazing hopefully 🏈 spreads across tha world itz an awesome sport and tha most exciting sport to play and watch it would be crazy to have NFL franchises in tha UK or China
What a great accomplishment for Mr. Reynolds. I wish him the best and I really hope the first British QB to play for an American college will be following him up.
british qbs getting exposure this is history in the making
Best of luck from Texas
This is chill, mate.
Brits would be in for a culture shock once they saw the level of athlete in America, it’s something that can’t be duplicated anywhere outside the US, Wish him the Best but Top Hs Qb’s here have whole machines behind them
His Dad is a great presenter for NFL in the UK
we need him in the Xfl/Cfl
Would have to be insanely good to get noticed by the NFL, especially playing in Canada, but good luck to him.
holy crap, we actually have the prospect of a qb representing our country
Awesome story.
As an American, I would love to see more overseas talent coming on board. Especially from countries like UK, Japan and Australia where there is natural athletic talent and can help grow the sport. Good luck to you buddy. I hope to see you kick your goals 🇺🇲🤝🇬🇧
This is so cool to see as someone who plays American football at uni
Good Luck! Aberdeen, North Carolina
Good luck and get it done
motivated me to keep trying to be like this
I hope he makes it to the nfl if the nfl then the XFL
I grew up watching steelers football and the steelers drafted several undrafted players that grew to be hall of famers so no matter what never stop chasing your dream
From living in Ottawa I’m excited for him to join the gee gees and hopefully see him at the youth camps lol
So cool seeing football being promoted in the uk.
Bill, sign this guy cause it’ll be really ironic for a British dude to play with the Patriots
“Man from old England signs for New England”.
@@juicy4083 lmao
The British are coming!
Good luck from New Mexico
Bro I’m so happy people from Latin America Europe Australia China Japan and quite frankly other countries outside the United States are getting exposed to American football hope this dude makes it
It would be enjoyable to see the American game flourish in the UK. I see the current stage of development is probably about where world football/soccer was in the US at about the 1980s level. In other words, there's some interest. There's some participation. There's some talent. But, it's a bit raw. The complexity and depth of instruction and coaching isn't quite there yet.
I wish the kid all the luck in the world. An NFL franchise in London would push interest and participation in a huge hurry.
In the meantime, George, step into your throws. It doesn't appear that you're shifting your weight on your follow-through. Good luck, boyo.
Can the NFL really compete with Football and Rugby in the U.K though? Can’t see it, as much as I like the NFL.
@@juicy4083
I can easily see it supplanting rugby and cricket, but certainly not the Premier League.
It doesn't really have to be the most popular thing in order to be profitable.
The PL will always be top of the heap in Britain simply because it's deeply woven into the culture. But, if there were a London-based team, do not count out the marketing capacity of the NFL. When it comes to promotion, spectacle, and salesmanship, the NFL are uncontested masters. I have no doubt they could sell a team to the public, fill a 65,000 stadium 8 times a year, and move a ton of merchandise.
If the MLS can outpace the NBA, NHL, and MLB in per game attendance (they do), the NFL can work in London.
The challenge would be to evaluate whether a London team would be a relocated franchise or an expansion team. Jacksonville is the obvious candidate. Even the team's nickname would work for England. Keep the name and color scheme, but change the logo to reflect a tie to British Jaguar automobiles. I can see marketing geniuses selling that angle.
@@kentgrady9226 The NBA has smaller stadiums and they are always full (on a normal year) and the NBA has much more popularity in the states than the MLS but the MLS is definitely growing
@@tfc4713
In terms of the number of clubs, it's one of the largest, if not *the* largest leagues in the world. It is also one of the best attended.
MLS's next step ought to be the improvement of overall quality. Key elements of this process would be more comprehensive club youth academies, making the league more financially attractive to elite foreign players in their prime (as opposed to big names who want to end their careers in the name of marketing), and development of lower tier leagues.
All these steps are underway to a greater or lesser extent. I'd like to see the adoption of a promotion/relegation system. But, I see that as unlikely. The current league business model doesn't support P/R, and the typical American sports fan doesn't really understand it.
@@kentgrady9226 Living in america it is not as popular with people as the NFL,NBA or college football (in some places) but it is bigger than the MLB
There is a talent canyon between us and the brits, but I'm about them trying to earn their spot 💯

2:06 that gut hanging out
I think that's excess skin. He may of lost lots of weight but didn't do surgery on the extra skin.

All I like seeing the sport go worldwide. better competition
This big guy comes to my father's campsite "Kim's Camping". That's insane!
Good on ya, mate.
Hope it all works out!

Good to see a brit doing well in American football
Okay but have you guys heard of Alex Honig?
German QB at TCU
I would love to see you get on a college in the US a D1 school would be great you might try some SEC schools as a walk on
Best of luck
Hope this guy succeeds !
I’d love to see this guy start for the bears 🐻
Good luck kid.
As an international prospect, this is really fun to watch
Day gut at 2:07 😂
I can just imagine him doing an audible and the other dudes not knowing wtf he’s saying lmao
You got this man! Hope this works out for you!!! If it does, come to Buffalo! 😉 ahaha
this is alot of hype for a practice squad player
I'm curious to know if he was a part of the Kent Exiles team that played against Edinburgh Wolves (the team I played for) in the semi's a few years back before both us and them went into the British Premiership, them to the south and us to the north. But regardless best of luck from another Britballer.
Yo, I'm pretty sure Neil is his dad or at least family member. Outside of same last name they do look alike. Best of luck to the kid, that is a huge step to get an offer from a North American football program.
*Throws a pick*
George- "Oh, bloody hell".
going to be interesting if he’s makes the nfl just because British people’s taunts are funny asf lol
His dad has great hands
