    One of my favorite species they are stunning and congrats on hatching them that’s definitely something you don’t see all the time. Wish you the best of luck with them 🙋‍♂️✌️

    Awesome bro, these are definitely my dream Varanid. Really hope more people can successfully breed them. I'm only gonna get a captive bred baby. Such a dope setup you have!

    Awesome accomplishment! I've never seen them captive bred before and don't even know of anyone working with them in the US. There may be, I just haven't heard of it.
    The video is good but the audio is so quiet. Look into getting a cheap lavalier mic, it's worth the $20.

    The Quince habitat looks well made and super comfortable for the full grown Quince.
    Your video has so much information. Thank you for sharing your learned knowledge.

    Are they typically friendly? I've considered getting a monitor lizard or iguana because I can't have a dog where I live ...so I'd love some scaly dog baby haha

      They can be amazing as long as you put the work in to tame them as is doesnt come natural. If you put the work in theyre very rewarding.

      I don't wanna talk you out of it they can be fun friends occasionally but as a rule iguanas absolutely suck, even in the best of situations, that is coming from someone who had a male for 20 years dearly loved lol.
      Even if they are nice they still tear you apart and have violent massive shits daily lol. And if it's a healthy male in breeding season chances of it chasing / threatening you just because you wanna feed it is high. And if you slip up that bite is noooo joke, (65 stitches later) Any large monitor can obviously do massive damage as well.
      Have you considered a ackie monitor? They are a fantastic option, all of the monitor in a manageable size. And don't require stupid huge custom enclosures. I definitely consider it especially since it sounds like this is your first.

      ackie monitors are a great option for a first monitor and the best option for most people. I have a few videos on them, check them out when you have time.

    hi there. me and my spouse are in the process of researching on building a 8 x 4 x 6-7enclosure with a deep water feature. will that be big enough for full grown? also having a hard time finding breeders to reserve a cb from. Do you still breed quince monitors? looking to put a deposit down on a cb hatchling in about 6 months but having a hard to time finding reputable breeders to avoid wc from

      @thereptileshopreddeer  4 місяці тому

      Hey! I do still breed quince. Are you from canada? That would be plenty of space as the cage in the video is 8x4x7 and they have lots of space.

      For me to ship to the us would cost around $1000 plus the cost of the lizard so might not but worth it. Im not aware of anyone else still breeding them in the us though. Just lots of wc being sold as cb

      @@cadirgemont5900 its crazy cause theyre not even really that hard to breed. Just not enough people wanting to put the effort into them.

      @thereptileshopreddeer you'd think aye, I mean they have the appeal of looking like a more vibrant looking Asian water monitor but without the sacrifice of a whole room. Also I heard they're shy but not batshit defensive or reactive like a argus so owning a adult doesn't mean you need good health insurance either.
