Lvl 325 main Makoa here. The talent i most play is Half Shield and as you said i get rid of the Shield health card and slap the one who gives the hook cd reduction in there. The most value you can get out of Makoa is creating space with the shield and get enemies out of position with the hook, for me that's a double win. Also just to let you know, there is a cap on the Shield cooldown, for me was impossible to get less than 4.5 secs, they put the cap a long time ago when Koa had the ability to place shields back to back. Love your videos man.
Ah, I see. I was trying desperately to figure out what was wrong with my math- with max Guardian/Chronos, max Carapace (shield card) and max Barrier Reef (shield cd reduction card). Chronos 3 makes Shell Shield 9.8 seconds, and the 7250 shield getting totally destroyed should refund 7 seconds of cooldown, which should leave us with 2.8 seconds. But yea, I could never get it below the number 4. If we want to get down there, simply getting Chronos 3 and having max Barrier Reef brings you down to 4.8 seconds, no need for Carapace or Guardian. If you want a really beefy 7250 health shield, then we can either have Barrier Reef at max with Chronos 2 for 4.2 (actually 4.5) seconds, or with Chronos 3 and Barrier Reef at level 4 we get 4.2 (actually 4.5) seconds. At the end of the day yea, it is probably best just to take Barrier Reef on its own with Chronos as a common first buy for Makoa. Besides Strongarm, is there anything else worth replacing Barrier Reef for, anyways?
I'm so mad I never knew there was a hard cap, I have almost 300 hrs on Koa and am a half shell addict and never noticed that even though I visit training range a lot I just assumed there was diminishing returns or some other weird mechanic I was missing on cooldown, never would've guessed something as boring as a cap though.
@@maragazh9993 Beside Strongarm you can use Determination (Increase your healing below 50% hp) for a sustain build you can add Rampage (Increase movement speed on elimitation) if you want to move fast or Ebb and Flow (Movement ability reset on low hp) to get out sticky situations. At the end of the day its personal preference. You can check out my decks ingame. IGN: Mabci
@@ThePikeOfDestiny Yep, i was starting to play koa when Evil Mojo put the cap. But it was necessary, having back to back shields was not fun to play against.
