Think this is one of the best 450 reviews, and I have seen a few - great stuff! You are the ONLY person to talk about where they dropped their weight, 10kg off the engine compared with previous model. Great to see your height on the different options, that was really useful. Love your channel and thanks for this review.
Thanks Sarah! I appreciate your comment 🙏
One more thing - people have shaved off 20 kgs from the bike just by removing part they don't want as well .
Definitely extra weight saving to be had 😊
Fact - Sherpa are the people who help mountaineer to climb Himalayas , even Everest.
I know, my father climbed the Himalayas with the help of Sherpas ❤️
Cracking review and what a bargain bike. £6,300 with tubesless tyres and a snazzy paint job, very tempting!
Alternate colors on a Harley are like $750.00 more!
I love that you always do a visual of the seat heights. Very useful. Thanks.
I try 😊
Been waiting a couple of years for this bike, just landed in Australia. Best review so far and I have watched them all so thankyou Kate.
Thanks Dennis, I appreciate that so much!
I love your bike reviews. You are funny and you get a lot of information across. Don't ever stop.
Not sure i like all the "tech" on this bike, didn't realize RE went for all this rider mode stuff. To me, i don't like all this tech... But i'm old school, I know a lot of younger people will like all this. Also adventure riding.... That riding looked too aggressive for me lol, I like the more steadier pace, i want to be able to look at the countryside and take it in... That riding was almost like a race to the finish for me. Maybe the old Himalayan would be more suited to me and my old body. 🤣. great review Kate 👍
Looking forward to these coming to America. My local dealer doesn't have them yet and it took and age just to get the super meteor here. Great review as always Kate I love this new motorcycle. It's evolving and moving in the right direction for sure.
I think it's quite the positive progression of the Himi for sure 😊
Talked to the RE/BMW dealer in northern Ohio, they said August/sept expected delivery to dealers!!!
Kate!! Hope you are well? Just thought I’d mention my friend and his wife watch your videos out in the states. We are with them right now in Alabama watching your latest video!!
As they say here ya’ll famous girl!!

Sorry, but it would be ; Ya famous girl! ya'll is plural... American English.😅there's only one Usernamekate.😉 and she is loved world wide.😘👍
Haha that's crazy!! I hope they can tolerate my accent 🤣
@@UsernameKate Kate, they are from the UK. Also looking at upgrading my GS1200 to a 1250
Thank you for leaving in all the little issues and scares you had - it’s really helpful to get a (more) real picture of the bike and how you feel on it! Thank you for not sanitizing the review to just all pretty pictures and smiles. Excellent work!! Thank you!
An excellent review. This bike seems to be great value for money. You certainly chose an ideal location to carry out the test ride. Thanks for sharing.
Very lucky and grateful to receive the invite to ride there 🙏
Absolutely one of the best reviews I've seen.....and I've seen many.
That is high praise indeed!! Thank you so much 😊
Great review as always!
I also love how you don’t edit out the wobbly bits on your ride. Like you said, we are all human!
This bike looks great and from your review I’d definitely give it a go 😊 xx
I agree with your review... RE have definitely listened to the market...! You captured the essence of the bike and its capabilities.
Brilliant review Kate. Enjoyed the offroad commentary & honesty 😂 . All the best 👍
I have been meaning to comment for quite a while now; I really enjoy your videos... truly a unique and really useful approach compared to most other motorcycle videos... I find myself laughing out loud multiple times per episode from your comments ("PREPOSTEROUS!") and singing and wonderful accent! Excellent work and, being a short guy, I can better gauge my fit to a particular bike from your videos compared to the usual 6 footers in other channels... Keep up the great work and thanks for all the fantastic videos!
A proper job, both bike and bird! Well done Kate, stay safe.
you are getting better with your riding off road, believe in yourself more, you are not giving yourself enough credit for riding those gravel roads, remember to stand on the pegs, lean on the pegs to turn and shift your weight around the bike when standing, You are doing a lot lot better, whatever Mike is teaching you, is definitely helping, ABR just around the corner now, get some greenlanes under your belt. Well done Kate
Always great reviews Kate. Love your presentation and admire your memory!😊
I just bumped into your videos and I loved them. great reviews, charming and you are lovely I must say. good job!
Thank you so much 🥹 means a lot!
Love the 452 too nice for a winter bike that I use my 411 for maybe..great vid, outside of your comfort zone and smashed it.
Thank you for this video, Kate. I was not interested in the Himalayan before seeing this new model in the flesh at a local dealer. Now it is looking increasingly useful, attractive, and fun! This video helps me a LOT.
Well done Kate. In my opinion that’s the best review so far 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏and what a fantastic place to do it. Stay safe. 🤗👏👏👏👏
Great review Kate, love your style, and wow those gravel tracks..😮 scary ❤ stay safe 😊
Thanks Martine!!! 🥰
Excellent stuff as always, Kate.
This bike is super tempting! Can't wait to have a test ride.
I'm interested to hear your thoughts!
Fantastic review Kate. Had been looking forward to your thoughts on this bike.
Excellent job and really liking the new Himalayan 👍🏻
Subscribed, you are fantastic! soo good review!
Thanks so much! Appreciate you!!!
Another brilliant review thank you for all the relevant information in it.
Another insightful and wonderfully delivered review.
Thank you Kate.
great video, the 450 may have to join my meteor in the garage!. Had the pleasure of meeting your father at a bike do today, passed on my appreciation of your video reviews. The same enthusiasm whether it's a leccy 125 or superbike, real world review, friendly, informative, without journo bs.
keep on keeping on!
Ah, no way! What a small world!! Thank you! I really appreciate that 😊
I really like the 450. And an excellent review.
10 stone = 63kg that's quite light.
Not for me its not 🤣 and thank you ☺️
Great review Kate! The Himalayan vs the CFMoto 450MT is going to be an interesting battle!
Ya it will be very intersting to see both of them head to head as the review are good for both by far just one difference between them is the reviewers said that himmy is more off-road fucused and CF moto is better on road.
It is for sure. So far the feedback on the Himalayan is more positive. Brake feel, suspension (even though it's not adjustable), throttle (not snatchy), etc.. but the 450MT gets you more for your money. Fully adjustable forks, adjustable levers, better screen and connectivity, radial brake caliper. The Himalayan doesn't even have a folding tip gear lever. It's definitely built to a budget and components show it, but it's one of those that is going to be more than the sum of its parts. Looking forward to the head to heads.
Options: handguards, heated grips and cruise control. Perfect bike.
Great review, as someone still currently on a 125 I do like watching these to see what kind of options I have for when I do upgrade to a bigger bike 👍😁
…what a little ripper of a ‘bike. All the best to RE. Nice work, Kate. 👍
Thanks Headrace! 😁 always nice to see your comment after all these years 😊 appreciate you!
I bet Mike would have loved being out there with you lot😂. Looking forward to everyone else's videos. You set the bar high.
If I was on the market for a small adventure type bike I would go for one of these, very capable and good value 😊
I have never seen your channel however I watched your review of the BMW 900 (I pick up mine tomorrow) it was great so I watched this one.. you really do a great job of breaking down the machines! Just subscribed..
Thank you so much Eric! I try my best. Your sub is appreciated 🙏
What a great review Kate. Thank you.
Nice review Kate. It’s good to see a reviewer with an open mind and not judge the bike before it’s ridden. Subscribed.
Looks great and very versatile 👏👏👏
Hello from New Zealand. Thank you for the great review. I am getting on a bit now and recently decided to get back into motorbikes after around 30 years on 4 wheels. I wanted an adventure bike so went out and found myself a good used BMW G650GS Sertao. I have admired these bikes for a long time and I do love the bike. I quickly found out that things are not quite as easy in my 60s as they were in my 20s though. I also found that I was a bit short in the leg for the 860mm seat height. Bikes are not only getting heavier, but also taller, these days. I installed a set of 51mm lowering links to the rear suspension and dropped the forks 50mm through the clamps effectively lowering the bike by 50mm. So I basically have the standard G650GS but with spoked wheels and a 21" front.
Now, I see this new Himalayan and kind of wish that I had hung on a while and got one of these. I really do like the look of them. You have pointed out some very relative negative points though. 1) The tail light being incorporated in the indicators. I don't particularly dislike the look of this concept, but I do feel that it leaves them a bit exposed and prone to damage particularly when off-road. What happens if you break one? Do you then lose all rear lights? Perhaps not, but this is often the case with modern electronics. 2) Having to have your phone unlocked to operate the navigation. Sure you can put your phone in a holder and on charge, I do that now on my BMW, but then you wouldn't need the navigation screen on the bike. 3) No cruise Control. I don't have one now, but sometimes wish I did. I suffer from muscle pain in my right arm on ling rides and cruise control would be good. I suppose there are devices such as the Atlas Throttle Lock out there though. 4) No heated grips option, even my 10yo BMW has those and they came as standard when it was new. That's not such a big problem though. I find that I feel the cold most in my finger tips and heated grips don't help that at all.
As I said, I like the look of these Himalayans, but I don't think I will swap my BMW for one any time soon. Not because my BMW is so much better, but I don't think I could justify the cost to get something similar but with 20% less power. However, if I didn't have the BMW and was looking for a bike now, I would probably go for the Himalayan. Tell Royal Enfield to make something to rival the BMW F900GS or even R1300GS. Now, that might make me look at changing brand. Particularly if they were simpler bikes. I think the new BMWs have way too much tech. Tech is good but I would like to be able to choose what I want, not have to buy a whole package just to get something like cruise control. Keep up the great content. Great channel.
Thank you for sharing 😊
Hi also from Kiwi land. Have a 410 at the moment and love it. Find I stop more and enjoy the views. As
Your reviews are crisp and I'm pretty shore your grandmother has a chuckle and loves you very much 🏍
Excellent review. Thanks

Hello Kate, I’m new to your channel, I love your review, thank you!
Welcome welcome! Thanks for being here!!
I love this bike and your review was great
That looks a seriously grown up bike and in that black a decent looker as well. To me it knocks spots off the Triumph. Can't wait to see you and Mike tackle that off road section up Rivi, i bet he will love it.
Haha that would be awesome 👌
Wow that is a great bike and some nice trails to ride on be nice to have royal enfield to make a 650 great job Kate you rock girl
Excellent in depth review..👍👍
but every reviewers missed one thing....mileage!!
this thing can go long without making hole on ur pocket.
It's hard to mention sometimes because we filled up at the end of the day and all the cameras are usually dead by then BUT we started the day on a full tank, rode from about 8am til 6pm with the occasional stop for photos and dinner etc. Filled up at the end of the day and the bike was still showing 3 and a bit bars out of 4! Blew my mind how economical it was!
Your reviews are really coming on - the pieces to camera are very professional (…I know this is your profession!). Anyway - excellent job! 😊
Thank you so much!
Working on a project in India's north-east Himalayan range I got my Hanle Black with tube rims today. Decat pipe and chip ordered with it. Now stripping off the redundant ballast and off I'll go. Price difference compared to UK enormous. Paid 4000 EUR on the road (includes road registration, insurance and RE's 1 year road side assistance)
Yes 411 was almost half the price in India. I guess all that EURO compliance and marketing comes at a price!
@@YouKayTen I guess all the crooks in the European markets are milking the cash 🐄 🐄 that ride adventure bikes for fun. In India 🇮🇳 bikes are still by large and far a means for cheap commuting.
Always good to hear your opinion of the bikes you review, very thoughtful and concise, spoken like a true biker.
I checked the local (nearest) Royal Enfield dealer a few weeks back because I have a real hankering for a dual sport to compliment my speedmaster, they didn’t have any at the time. However, I checked on Friday and they were showing a demo available, so I popped down to have a Quick Look and a sit on it, to see if the lean for side stand is going to be an issue (also a 29” inseam human).
I have booked a test ride for Wednesday, Happy days
Hi Kate does seem a lot better than the old one I have never even looked at the Himalayan come to that none of the royal Enfield but haps it’s time to look at this one for a winter hack you’d save a lot of money compared to triumph Ktm bmw I know they are premium bikes but for winter hack I think it would be a sensible option take care Kate ride safe 👋
I saw this same event with sum other dude. It was ok but I like yours better!
Good video Kate
I do like the bike, great review! Thinking this bike could
be replacement for my AT….
17:00 min Lucia going: “This is fun!” Kate: “ Whaaaaa!” 😁
*internal screams*
@@UsernameKate getting better all the time, hon. 👍👍👍
Your too beautiful and I can't skip this video coz you made my day more interesting I feel very satisfied watching this video.I am planning to buy handle black Himalayan this coming July, before I was having doubt but now I'm good now thanks 👍
I hope you love your new bike!
If the motorcycle doesnt sell itself that accent would help move units. Love the review.
I prefer the look of my 2023 Himalayan, yeah passed my test year before this came out such is life😂.
But the black tickles my fancy. If I were to replace my current Id def test ride the CF moto, Kove and Rieju. However my experience with R enf dealers been good so having parts available is another positive.
Good review you nailed both bikes I think.
Awesome review! I’ve got the hanle black tubeless on order, apparently delivery is mid may, due to the delay in the tubeless model, sounds like it will be worth the wait!
I've got Kamet White with tubeless on order, and there are no issues with the wheels on that model, yet I'm still having to wait until mid May! Grrr.
Its a bonny looking Bike , and it is up to speed on modern stuff which is good , really like Re as a brand these days , all the new stuff coming out I find interesting , on a GS right now and happy , but loved the previous Himalayan 411 , looks like I'm going back to RE and a 450 down the line as these BMWs are great i just did 3 hours with no grumbles but too big really for a jump on blast .
Love your review style really entertaining and informative…also you’re riding reminds me a bit of myself as you seem very comfortable on road but a bit nervous off road which is how I am.
Haha I'm not a natural when things get loose 😅
@@UsernameKate I always admire those who are prepared to try what’s difficult… well that’s what I tell myself 😉
🤣 gotta give it a go else you'll never grow, thats what I tell myself 🤭
Love your content. Half the blokes out there were thinking the same things. You go girl 👋😊
Fantastic review. I would love to see hand wind protector guards fitted on the front of hand grips. This would provide more comfort when riding on cold windy days. I'm considering purchasing one of these bikes however I am going to wait until 2025 model comes out. I would like to see Wether Royal Enfield address the constant flickering on the TFT screen. Thanx again for a honest and awesome review.
Hey Philip, the TFT screen does not flicker at all in real life. It is the frame rates that the go pro picks it up. It's a perfectly functioning dash 👍
Said on Darcys review the himalayan is like the Michael Palin of adventure/touring bikes,
Love Darcy's work :) big respect
Hi! Really nice video from this fantastic bike! Love your boots, what brand and model? You have another subscription from Portugal! Keep the good work!!
Looks like Royal Enfield have arrived in the 21 century, all that new tech for such an affordable price... I think this will be a well received bike.
Great review, and the "quack🦆 sorry Mum" had me chuckling to myself. Very enjoyable vlog
Mum is hearing a lot of quacks recently, she's not impressed haha!
The best review I’ve seen of the Himalayan (I only half watched the others) You test bikes with the likely buyer type in mind, rather than the ‘top trumps’ brigade.
I saw Bingley Wheeler up at Feizor on one on cold, wet and mucky roads, and thought of you in Sardinia lol. Live the dream!
Thanks so much Ged. That comment means so much! 😊
Excellent review Kate. Cheers.😀
Thanks, I appreciate that!
Super review Kate!
I’m so disappointed with the colours available on this bike given the gorgeous schemes available on other models ☹️
Black and gold is the only nice colour in the range imho
I can't believe you memorized all those colors, options and prices! Excellent review.
Thanks Jason 😊
A great review, you have a good memory to recall all those stats and options on the fly. No heated grips option for a bike called the Himalayan seems R E's only oversight.
Hi Kate nice video nice well equipped bike lovely view's when off road sounds nice as well thay have a nice range of bike's royal enfield nice too see you haveing fun on and off road scary at times when the back end stepped out looking forward to seeing more videos from you.
Thank you so much 😊
Thank you Kate.
Hope to test ride one next week.
You'll have to reply to this with how you get on 😊
Absolutely love the new Himalayan. I miss the old school traillies (XT500 anyone?) and this looks like it's a cracking modern update of those utility fun bikes. I was unsure about the rear twin lights, but I followed a BMW with them the other day and I admit they look fine (although I still prefer the fighter-jet exhaust rear light on my Guzzi). I love the curves too - a lot of bikes are getting very angular now, and that's not really my taste. Great review - I need to book a test ride now.
Excellent review Miss Kate, lots of sensible and accurate information, I like your style. Personally, I think this is a really good looking machine from all angles, especially that black one with gold wheels ..... I sat on one a few days ago, for the first time. Generally I'm not a fan of adventure bikes but this one certainly has my full attention, I wonder if they will do a Scram version? By the way, you're a much braver person than me, I prefer to stay on the black stuff, I don't like skidding around on ball bearings 😊 Besides, bones don't heal very quickly at my age 😁 Stay safe, Phil
Excellent and honest review.
Glad you enjoyed it
Ahaha, im using "wobbler" as my new family friendly insult 😆. Great work lassie. Huge inspiration to my 17yr old daughter too 🤘
Bloody wobbler!! 🤣 yay! That's amazing 👏
Great review Kate, really think this is a great looking bike, yet another winner from Royal Enfield, even like the magnolia (I mean Kaza Brown) one.👍🏻
Love your reviews. You give the pros and cons in a way that leaves it to the viewer to make up their own minds about them. Have you given any thought to reviewing RE's new Shotgun 650?
Kate, another great review by you, information is great. Lots of ducks on the not great off road bit. I haven't ridden for a year due to broken back your channel cheers me up thanks 😁
Wild Sardinian ducks have a lot to answer for! and thank you :)
I ordered one in October and paid a deposit. I woukd also love heated grips and cruise control. Perhaps not as sophisticated on BM's new 1300 but like my 1250 adventure.
Good stuff, Kate.
Cheers from OKC. 🤗
Thanks Joe! 👍
Great review.
Thanks! I appreciate that :)
Hi Kate - I read many articles saying that the very low end was not as strong as the 411. The comment you made about what they said about torque delivery seems to be contrary to that. I noticed on the trail it was a little ‘clacky’ for you at the bottom end. I’ll get a test ride booked. Thanks - good video as always. Andrew
I was very much in too high a gear. The camera may not pick it up, but it was steap steap
Excellent honest review, you've got me interested in one, better get in the que for a test ride
When are you coming to India Kate? Beep beep beep beep! Unbelievable how you remember details about the bikes while riding them! Well done!
Thank you so much! I've never been to India but it looks incredible 😊
@UsernameKate you should! Happy to help you plan it out and maybe get some brands involved?
Sounds a bit like you are implying that the Mk1 was thrown out to Test the market, and this one to Capture it.
I think it could well capture me, especially in that Black/Gold, even thought there are a couple/three things that don't go down so well with me compared to the Mk1.
I was gonna ask where you are (fantastic landscapes) then I noticed the number plates..., buonanotte signorina Kate.
Thanks for another top review.., once again. it was very obvious how much you enjoyed yourself, but were still able to produce such a professional and well edited review.... quack!
Hello from a fellow Himalayan 452 rider from India. A small tip to get rid of the screen flickering - Set the fps on the action camera to 50fps…voi·la!🙃
Amazing! I will know for next time because when you get home and upload the footage... you just sit there like 🥲🥲🥲
Great presentation Kate!
Great review! Many thanks! What you can say about vibrations? There are many comments on this bike hand bars and pegs strong vibrations (I know that singles vibrate, I ride single as well but those voices are pointing out that that’s quite big vibrations).
We did some highway speeds at the end of the day and the vibes were definitely noticeable
Well, I watched itchy boots ride this in in one of her adventures, so I know the bike is very much capable of road 👍🏾
Great review, the seat comparison was especially useful. If the roads in Rome get any worse, I might have to scrap my Versys plans and get one of these :)
What a great review, Kate! Love your way of it. Also, have subscribed... good to have found your channel. Cheers.
Thanks for subbing! I appreciate that so much!
I'm definitely thinking this would be a great next bike for me. I'm in Thailand and I think that it is just soon to come in here. Have to save up and won't be able to buy one for a year or so at least, but that gives me time to see loads of feedback and all that. Have watched dozens of Indian videos on the bike... now its time to get some of the UK perspectives!
Thanks again!
@@UsernameKate Look forward to going through your channel! All the best.
5:29 only issue with the nav is the RE app which is renowned for battery drainage
Mentioned in the summary 😊 but yes, agreed 👍
I love my interceptor 650 but I do miss offroading and green laning in the springtime 🌦️
It’s nice seeing somebody on the smaller size try this because I’m looking at getting into biking in the future and I’m only about 165cm
I think when I get into it I want to either flat feet or close to flat feet the bike if possible and for the moment I looked at Honda rebel and Kawasaki eliminator 500 but at the same time I thought there is not many dirt roads and stuff like that but there is a few that could be fun so I may like the semi cruiser style of the others but it could also be nice to look at a adventure bike that can maybe take a hit better and pack more stuff on
but when I just look at higher bikers do adventure bikes I just felt they way too big for even tippy toeing so looking at you trying the lowest normal seat it actually make this a contender for my choice because we have 1 inch difference and there is a possibility for even lower seat so I don’t think height would be a problem from this bike
Nice review, hope to see you soon again on our routes ❤ lamps from Sardinia.
Well done on your review from Oz, I really enjoyed it. Just wanted to ask what's the olive green colour jacket you have on at the start of this video. It looks great. Cheers Mick
