It destroys love. My 16 year marriage is hardly staying together, because my husband preferred porn to his nympho wife. Now that he is sober, we are doing it all the time, but it makes me very angry that I lost 16 years of sex because of modern day pornography (pornhub). I loved him dearly and now I can’t say it. He is starting to see the light, since he discontinued and is so upset by everything he broke. Even his own children hate him for what he did to our family. I am still not sure it is fixable, but it may be with a CSAT therapist for him and a betrayal trauma therapist for me. He also can never watch adult shows for the rest of his life; they are now a doorway to pornography. He is very upset by how he sexually neglected me, because he loves our lovemaking/sex and exclaims it is the best he has ever had in his life. And I am very upset too, because I was monogamous and only wanted him all of the time while he was selfishly getting off to all sorts of gross crap. I am also sexually adventurous, so it hurt tons that that is some of the stuff he was searching, instead of coming to me. We would have never had sex in our marriage, if I didn’t initiate as much as I did…. Now he has a couple different sexual dysfunctions, which I will keep private, but I knew and I warned him. Now we have to rewire his brain, if I stay…

When do the cravings leave? Even after a year of nofap its hard to stay away from it. I guess this is because I grew up with it and my brain takes more time to restructure. Lockdown isnt helping either.

So visually speaking, the connection to porn use in your brain is probably like a highway after all this time. It will take a long time of not "driving" that road to not feel the urge to do so and go on other paths, that are more difficult, e.g. socializing with women IRL. Think about it, why would you logically prefer a small path over a highway to drive? For your subconscious brain, the choice is obvious unless you give it enough reasons to take the difficult road, by becoming aware of all the negative consequences of porn use. Step by step, the old highway will get abandoned and other connections will get better!:)

I bet the cravings never leave. I've been off porn for 2 weeks but this video explains why we'll always want to see a new sexually available partner. My advice is to accept this fact and decide if you want to act on it or choose to do something else

Not an expert either, but i think we can't 'educate' the limbic system effectively. That's because it houses our primary survival instincts. But we can withstand the urge to follow these instincts

You can pretty much reprogram any part of your brain, it just takes, time, the right stimulus, and a lot of discipline and determination.
There are different methods, some more extreme than others such as negative stimulus enforcement.
The best methods include a mix of self hypnosis (meditation) Self Denial and distraction.
In matters like this one thing is that things that are a BIG NO NO today like cheating used to be fine but because of modern day logicality it's different

Start eating health, get vitamin d by at least 15min in sun morning, eat sardins and vegetable, cold shower, drink tea, reduce the Max you can of foods with gluten, also reduce sugar, do exercises 15min 4x a week. The Effect is not instantly as porn gives for addicted people, but in the long run not only your addiction but your health will be good. Thank me later!
Also, when feel the urges think that you will lose nofap benefits such as more attraction to women, more energy to do whataver you want to, no brain fog bc your pré-frontal cortex is healing, your skin will be better and glowing, women will notice it ( takes 35 days to form it ) you will understand more on studies
