Generalissimo died the same year. ( 1975 )
The United States had 7 presidents from the Franco's came to power until his death.
I was standing along the sidewalks of the Gran Via when Ford and Franco drove down the avenue. I was finishing my graduate studies in Madrid and along with fellow classmates from the USA we decided to take in the spectacle. The one part of the film at Barajas where Franco was speaking, you could notice the trembling from his advanced Parkinson's. We had been noticing it when he would appear on television.
GRANDE General FRANCO GUERREIRO do povo Espanhol. 🇧🇷👍
I believe that the Lincoln Continental in which President Ford arrives is the same Lincoln that President Kennedy used on the day he was assassinated. The car had a solid roof installed and is now at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn.
No it was a different one
Viva il Generalissimo!
VIVA FRANCO
Sois, en general, gente muy ridícula, sire.
Viva Franco
When he was told to invade Portugal and he said no? It was Nixon
Is the then Prince of Asturias [Juan Carlos] seen in this clip? Was he at the airport?
Probably yes, but it's hard to find him in the footage since he must have been wearing a miltary uniform like Franco and other companions.
For sure
the title was Prince of Spain.
@@hectorbalmaseda7690: Yes, to the regime he was Prince of Spain. In truth, he was still the Prince of Asturias.
Mucho caudillo

@@cristobalmanuelmoreno.llan2215 then spain died in 1999 when it joined the marxist EU
Man we sure have a short memory, had he joined WW2 he would have met the same fate as Hitler and Mussolini, but since he stayed out, people forgot his origins and old friends, and now worked with the United States. Disgusting.
He didn't join the war because he wasn't stupid and Franco was a great man who loved his country, hence why he didn't want to put it through yet another war.
TheZombaslaya no, the US cooperated with our country's fascist regime because they were interested in our strategic position. It's the United States you should be ashamed of
@@nestor1907 Just like the Soviet Union and Stalin that whised an access to the Mediterranean sea and the Atlantic Ocean by controlling a puppet state that will be behind the lines of the Western Democracies. That´s why Stalin invested in the Republicans. Or are we naive?
@@alejandrosotomartin9720 Yes, you are naive.
He just wanted the best for rebuilding Spain after the civil war. He didn't want neither Hitler nor the allies as enemies.
👏👏👏👏👏👏💪
Hail Franco !
