The essences are destroyed when their effects are activated. It's just that you need to activate them two times for it to be destroyed, it's literally in the words. Have the conditional effects happen two times doesn't mean 13 cats turn into 26, means you need 13 cats twice.

It is worded really badly. Each time an essence would be destroyed, the effect happens. The popsicle makes it so that happens twice. Popsicle Essence is double essence not twice as hard to activate the essence.
I did the copy cat strats yesterday and ended up with like 7 billion before I hit the destroy self if billionaire essence. I had pears that were 256x at minimum and symbols were 90% very rare, 9% rare and 1% uncommon.

I will never understand why you keep taking shattered mirror (essence or otherwise); particularly when you're trying to get more of a particular card! Also the lolly essence that you passed over for it is amazing as it doubles the effect of all your on-destruction essences.
I once had a run where my 4th item was golden carrot and i had 2 rabbits, that's also the first time i actually read through the description of it and i then saw the 5x buff for rabbits which is just insane if you have other buffers like beast master, moon, lucky carrot And that's how every one if my rabbits made 135 per spin, only wish I had more moons tho
Have you been made aware that you can right click on items to disable them? That means you can disable oil can and shedding season without relying on RNG for random items that negate others!
Essences make this game wayy too easy. I think a good way to balance them would be if you could take an item's essence *instead* of the item and not additionally
