dear whoever you are ❤︎
whether you've been here for a while or only arrived a short time ago, you watch every video or you just pop in when you need a warm space to sip and tune into some comforting content -- thank you for your support and spending your digital currency here!
This video was not sponsored or gifted. ❤
The casual weed plants in the background always make me chuckle 😂🪴
if someone asks me where do you see yourself in 10 years, i ll just show them this video. sending lots of love 🤍
Honestly!! This is just a beautiful way to live life 💕
I’m thankful that you didn’t wait for it to be Pinterest-esque. Loved the video!! Thanks!
It doesn’t seem like a mess to me, it seems like heaven on earth ❤ I love this content. You are truly an inspiration ❤
It is always refreshing to see you share how to have a nonjudgmental stance toward ourselves and foster self-compassion while learning new things. ❤
I’m not even super into gardening but your greenhouse and whole backyard is so impressive! And I could listen to you talk about it all day! Love how crafty you guys are and how you use every piece of the “canvas”. What a cool oasis!
just watching this makes me dream of the day when my fiancé and I get our forever home. I can't wait to play in the garden and make a greenhouse 🥰
Your back yard space is so beautiful. Just of note the Hydrangeas' color is based on the acidity of the soil ... so sometimes you may plant a blue one and over time it may change to pink or purplish ... and vice versa. If you want to try and control this process you can see what your soil does or test the soil and add certain things to help the plants stay the color you wish....🥰 happy gardening 🪴
Wow I had no idea, that’s so cool! I actually don’t mind what colour they bloom, they’re beautiful either way but this is really good information to know 🤍
Came here to say this too! I planted all different coloured ones and they all bloomed white haha
This video was such a mood lifter to start the week! Loved seeing a more in depth tour & it's so inspiring to see how connected you are with the nature and all of earth's beauty!
Thank you ☺️
It’s giving in the weeds 😍💜 (also I appreciate you mentioning how you meant to do more than you got done, it’s so easy for me to see UA-camrs getting so much done and then look at how my to do lists are never ending and I end up being able to do less tasks in a day than I wanted so I appreciate that it’s not just a me thing 💜)
the picnic table IN the garden area 😍😍😍 that’s brilliant
This is such an amazing space. I love your herb gutter and it'll be great for all of them except sage, sage will get to be a big bush/shrub so it'll need more room and more soil. I love the fairy lights and the greenhouse, so cute!
Thanks for that info about sage 💚
I can't wait how all of it will look next spring ❤ I love keeping up with your channel over the years
i loved it, it's so much work already, it's crazy all that you have done. and i'm all for a Ryan fan club xD it's impressive to see the creativity and cleverness of what he builds - and it comes out so pretty and neat !!
Oh wow! Your garden setup looks spectacular! Goals for real!
Videos like this are the highlight of my weekends, it just makes me feel grounded again😌
It is so beautiful to witness what you two had in your minds and then brought it to life together. You both are very creative. Such an inspiration✨🤍. So excited for the next gardening vlog🙏😍.
“29 weeks today actually ☺️” so cute lol also you are absolutely glowing!!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Even if you harvest a small amount, gardening is still enjoyable and therapeutic. I’m part of a little community garden and sometimes we have luck with some vegetables we plant other times we don’t. It’s still enjoyable ❤
Your garden at night is so so pretty and cozy 🥰 Ryan is a talented furniture maker. So good to see the plants growing. Maybe think about planting ceanothus (I probably spelled that wrong, it's a blue puffball plant) for an aesthetic and quick growing bush. Loving the curly hair too.
This was so fun to watch! I’m getting so much inspiration!
🪴💚 thanks for sharing Kalyn ☺️
This was such a magical vlog
🌱✨
If you get the opportunity to plant potatoes, do so, my son always has the most fun digging them up 😂 also just a tip, purple snap peas are cute and easier to see and harvest, my kids love eating those right off the plant ❤
Love love love your garden project! Thanks for sharing it with us. Hope you are feeling great! ❤
Ps - I’m still watching - for the corn etc outside your greenhouse, if the chicken wire is too cumbersome or involves a lot to make the small segments easy to move, you might consider bird netting?? Signed, A Vineyard Employee and Enthusiast 😁
Thank you!!! We will definitely look into that ♥️
Just came here again ( I watched the video before) I never been so much interested in gardening but this video inspired me SO MUCH I just brough new plants today and will start to take care of the ones I have (cause I never did 😅) , it is such a peacefull activity and warms my heart
You guys have done so much outside and inside your home! Looks so good! 🌱 ☀️ 🏡
Thanks so much! 😊
Been watching you since the early Toronto days and I love seeing how much your life has changed ❤
Your garden and everything Ryan built for it- is like a dream. Amazing ❤
Im so excited to see more. This was so fun and do beautiful!
Loved this!!!! My fiancé and I are big into gardening as well! Not sure if you had another blueberry bush there but just a tip! Blueberry bushes need a second buddy so that they can help
Pollinate eachother! So might wanna get a second one! 😊
Oh and they should be 2 different types! Like we have blue ray and jersey and jersey is a great pollinater!
Your garden is so lovely, I aspire to have a garden like this one day. 🌱
Thank you!! I hope you do 🤍
Such a motivating and inspiring video ❤
I love this content! Would love to see more garden videos
Kalyn I hope you’re as happy and fulfilled as it seems you are 🥹 I’ve followed along with your journey since 2016 and I just truly feel this is the life that that girl in you always needed. My heart is so full for you 🫶🏼💗✨
future video? film Ryan making the hydroponic system. that is impressive!!!and if you can share with us how well it works? if it works well, ill try it. 🤗
Caught this right at the end of my weekly binge/catch up session!! Love it bunches 🪴🌷
Bonjour Jessica lynn
Love all your gardening content! A very happy way to welcome spring! A question for you & Ryan, when you guys repurposed those logs as edging for your garden beds, did you just place them where you wanted them? Or did you dig in a little? I would like to try this one day at my parent's cottage
Plant some sugar snap peas around the opening they will grow and climb and peas will hang
Love the gardening videos! Literal dream garden!
Loved everything about this video 🌱 ❤
I am not a garden person yet but videos with this topic sure are growing on me!
Aw it looks so good!! I was looking forward to this video so much. I just started gardening on my own as well and have so much to learn. You all have done so great. It’s beautiful!!
It's so overwhelming but fun to learn!! The nice thing is knowing you dont have to master it all the first year 🤍 and thank you!
Wow! That green blue shirt looks so amazing with your eyes 💕
Vinegar, soap, and water makes for the BEST natural weed killer. :) Beautiful yard and greenhouse. ❤️
This is sooo fun and inspiring to watch 🪴🩵
It is so beautiful and enchanting! Congrats 💐🌿
Thank you so much!
I think I would make a second fenced off area for a garden that is just for on the ground planting tall stuff like corn.
It can be something you make when you decide to expand the gardening space.
Until then maybe look at garden boxes with lids, and stuff like chicken wire are great solutions.
this was so relaxing and wholesome! 🥹 love to watch more garden content and also the popsicle experiment eheh 🤗
You should consider a clover lawn to help with weeds and grown cover, it’s very soft and grows easy/ more weather resistant than grass
Honey suckle is a pretty good climbing plant for that entry way, it grows really quick too. Love this video, I wish I had the land to do this. One day🤞
Amazing! Adding to my notes 🤍 thank you
this is so wholesome
👏👏to your guy's work! Well done!
Love love LOVED this video. I unfortunately kill every plant I touch 😅 so someday I will bring my best friend in to help me with a garden
so inspiring!!🥹🌱💚
Love it so much
You can change the colors of hydrangeas by increasing or decreasing the PH of the soil!! I was able to get legitimate cotton candy colored hydrangeas by spreading a small amount of my leftover coffee grounds near the soil, they looked beautiful and would continue to change slightly the more I kept up with it!!
Coffee grinds??? I can do that 😍 how fun!
I have seen a couple of people painting the chicken wire black. And it's really cool because it become kind of invisible
Have y’all considered getting chickens? They help w pests and their poo is great for the garden
Yes, we've been doing lots of research but likely won't take that on until next year or the year after once I'm out of the postpartum/baby phases!
Yay! So excited to watch this!
So cozy ❤
The turtle!! I saw a ninja turtle t-shirt at work after the chapter of the Dad receiving the ninja turtles as a sign from his son. I thought that it might be a sign synchronizing with the book, and then I immediately saw a man with a ninja turtle tattoo like one second later lol She’s listening 🤠
waited to watch so i could show my boyfriend Ryan’s greenhouse, and he wanted me to comment that the garden beds might benefit from organic mulch like grass clippings or straw so they don’t dry out as harshly. he’s a sweetheart
Signs by Laura Lynn Jackson turned me from skeptic to budding spiritualist, I stg. That book is amazing.
I don’t know if you have it already, but you need the book We are the gardeners by Joanna Gaines!
Adding it to my TBR list! 🤍
Pro money tip- buy your perennials st the end of the season! Sometimes companies even give them away for free. They have sell by dates (so silly)! I got a bunch of plants for free last year
Definitely doing this
So stardew valley but in real life obsessed
Yes farm barbie 🎀🐓
This is the time of year when female turtles, tortoises, travel to where they lay eggs. So you saw her on her journey.
Stop it 🥹 that makes it all the more special
What is the name of the sign book you was talking about? Lost both of my yorkies last year a week apart from each other! And I have been seeing red birds a lot!
It's called "Signs: the secret language of the Universe" 🤍
mint and lemon balm and catnip: all in containers. dig out your lemon balm and put it in its own container. you are welcome🫶😉
Why?
@@olkaolka9092 spreads like crazy. takes over the whole garden. Soif you hope your foxglove, lupine and such will reseed, the mint and lemon balm will not let it. i
Great job
And the vining plant you have is a clematis. 😊
plant nasturnium among your starwberries
Another chemical free method for weed control that can be less labor intensive is solarization!
Can you pls tell me the size of your green house i want to have space like yours for table Nd island.
I’ll ask Ryan ☺️
I would abandon the garden altogether as soon as I saw that spider 😂🙅🏻♀️
I kid you not, if it was the year I moved here I would have but I've noticed my exposure to spiders in these last few years has made me a lot more unbothered by them (as long as those big ones aren't in my house or close enough to crawl on me)
maybe next year use wooden popsicle sticks to label your garden instead of plastic.
the garden at night is MAGICAL! like a wedding venue hahah
this is good feedback, we're thinking of just doing our wedding out back next year 😂
Ryan's babies ... iykyk 🙃
Bonjour kalyn nicholson
waiting for Ryans youtube channel to launch
vines: jasmine honeysuckle . if you are mad at your guy: wisteria😉🥴
