Wow🤗 I did it... I am a very raw beginner I cannot believe I did it..🙃 . Thank you very much for sharing your video I love you to make some more easy videos up for beginner Thank you
Hi Tiny Dragon - congratulations! Happy for you and thank you for your comment. Yes, I do plan on making more beginner videos. I've not many any new videos for a while but will do soon!
I haven’t tatted for 50yrs and decided to pick up my shuttles this week to see if I could still do it and yes I could. Just like riding a bike. But I found your channel whilst looking for a project to do and it’s wonderful. Your tatting style and teaching is a joy. Thank you so much for sharing. I had such fun doing this tiny snowflake this afternoon and will, like you, be adding a few to my Christmas cards this year. Soooo sweet and easy to do. C xx
Hello, apologies for being so long in replying but thank you so much for your nice comment. I'm pleased you've picked up your shuttles again! Happy tatting! :-)
I've learned so much from all your videos. I'm still sort of clumsy and I feel like my motifs are a little warped but I'm getting better all the time! Thanks for all your tips and patterns and instructions.
Hi Pam, I'm sorry but I don't even know what it's called! It was a bit of rubber-like material that my husband had brought back from work quite a long time ago. But I'm sure lots of things would work, anything that has a bit of grip or is ever so slightly sticky (silicone or rubber?).
Just learning, when your doing your 2nd small picot when your completing that are you counting that as one of the stitches when you say small picot, large picot small picot ''two stitches''... is the closure of the 2nd picot one of those ''two stitches?
Hello Steve, and apologies for not getting back to you sooner. Yes, you are correct, the closure of the 2nd picot counts as the first of the two stitches. I hope you enjoy making the tiny snowflakes! :-)
such a lovely design.simple, yet elegant.one question, where could i buy such a nice shuttle?i live in hungary and they don't sell shuttles here,at least i never seen it here, and i asked for it,but they don't recognize it.so i use a diy one made of plastic ,and one made of carton.but it works, they only don't last very long.i hope to see more video's from you ,greetings from hungary
Hello! I make my own shuttles and I have been selling them in my Etsy shop for several years (www.etsy.com/shop/lacossette). Unfortunately, I have other projects at the moment and I am not currently making shuttles. I have sent a few shuttles to customers in Hungary over the years. :-)
@@11Frivole thanks for your reply, the last couple of days i have been experimenting with making a shutle that works smooth.after some faillures i finally made something that works fine for me.but i certainly will visit etsy as well.
Hi Marcia, I'm not sure I understand your question... you'd like to see how I made the snowflakes that are on the blocking board? Those two are the same as the one I tat in the video. Let me know if I misunderstood you. As for the filament thread, it is not sewing thread but a special thin sparkly filament. One I have used but I don't know if it's still available is DMC 4300, another is Kreinik Metallics Blending Filament in shade 5760.
It's definitely not an Aero, that's for sure Mr. Detective. However, I don't recognise the colour of an Aerlit (though noise like one, yes). When I locate this shuttle again, I'll confirm.
Very nice,! But I want to make them in a row, how to do it? Can you please help me with it, I want to do it for my saree edging. Simple and cute. Thank you
Hello Anuradha, there is not an easy way of making those in a row I'm afraid... you would have to make each separately but join to the previous one at the long picot or else, you could make them continuously but you would have to carry the threads behind the motif to join at the tip of the picot ready to make the next one.
Hi Deborah, yes there is. My first idea would be to put it on the working thread between the two stitches of the chain. There might be another solution but I'd have to give it more thought. I'll make a note of it on my "to-do" list.
Hello Edna, welcome to my channel! I make my shuttles myself. I did sell them for many years in my Etsy shop but am currently taking a break due to other commitments.
No worries Marcia, I just wanted to make sure I understood you correctly. So yes, they're the same. Blocking them does change the shape a bit. I sometimes like to make the central picot even longer and that looks quite neat too when it's blocked.
Hi Jan, I'd like to help but I can't quite visualise where you problem is... When you reverse work, the way to make the knots is exactly the same, it's just that the other side of the work is facing you. You reverse work between elements (going for a ring to a chain or vice versa).
Hi, I re-shape, sand, paint, and then decorate the shuttles... perhaps one day, when I no longer make them for my shop will I reveal all my secrets! :-)
Only on these because they are so tiny and because I block them with diluted glue so the little knot is not visible and is held securely by the glue. Otherwise, yes, I would always sew ends in or use magic loops to pull them back inside stitches. :-)

How are you making the 2nd ring close? I see you wrap the thread around your hand but I don't understand and I cannot do it.
Hi Joanna, do you mean you can make the first ring close but not the second?
Donde puedo comprar lanaderas
Las lanzaderas? Se pueden comprar en my tienda: www.etsy.com/shop/lacossette. Haré mas en enero. :-)

Can you show how to make the another' snow flake the ones you are blocking. The filament is sewing tread? Great demo thanks

Call me the shuttle detective because that looks like an Aerlit. Lol it also sounds like one.

Is there a way to add a center bead?

Marcia Johnson
I understand everything except for the reverse. Can anyone tell/ show me the secret to that?
Do you mean "reverse work"? If so it's just where you flip your tatting over and work from the other side. Is that what you meant?
@@11Frivole Yes. When I do that, the loop gets stuck and won't move. (I love your video, by the way.)

So you sell them? ...I didn't know you have a shop, how much do you sell them for?
Hi Areli, thank you for your interest, the link is in the description box below the video. :-)
Can you do a lesson how to do a mignonette bag.? Thanks cheers
Yes, I can. I'll try to make that soon.
You don't sew in the ends?
