@@MrandMrsDIY Hi, wondering if you can help.I have 2 velux windows that already have a varnish type finish on them and I want to darken the colour to match the furniture in the room, to like a medium oak colour. Could I apply browning wax onto them? Would this darken the wood colour? Thanks for your help
@@doubertjbacon8121 Thanks for your question, Yes it is possible, The existing varnish may have a lacquer over the top thats acts as a hardener which will need sanding a little so the new wax keys to is surface better, I'd start with a small test area first to see how it tales to the surface and the colour changers before doing the whole frame, if its not getting the colour you require then you may need to dry the frame first and then apply your Frenchic furnisher wax.
Do you have to use a chalk paint before the wax or can I put the wax straight onto my unit?
Ether way, paint it first if your changing the colour or if its just wood and you want to keep the look of wood then just apply the wax
