When you Look at King David.. He was described as Red..But also In the Josephus, he was described as Yellow.. Now, Being from New Orleans, this made perfect sense to me.. when you live in the South. Particularly New Orleans, where there are still terms used from the slaves fresh off the boats to this very day. Red and Yellow is specifically 2 terms that's used very commonly In the Black community. It's called "Red, or Red bones", or Yellow" Or "Yellow bones". This is what Light skin Blacks are called.. For Instance. I'm often called Red, or Red bone because i'm light complected but you can see a bit of light brownish red in my skin. Then are are "Yellow bones, aka "High Yellow" people Gina From Martin is what is considered yellow, a yellow bone, or high yellow. Personally I've been called Both red and yellow bone, maybe because i get more pale in the winter. I'm saying this to say. It makes perfect sense why King David, a Black man, would be describes as red/ruddy by 1 person, and yellow by another.
