    Note- you should also unlock before pulling the filament out- notice there’s a little bulb of filament more than there would’ve been, this helps avoid clogs. Learned this way back on a makerbot, and saw it repeated by Creality and community

    Unlock before remove the filament, the melted part can remain inside the extruder.

    I've owned this printer since the beginning of the year, and it has never retracted the filament to where a can grab a bit of it at the loading tube and pull it out. Every time, I need to remove the tube from the print head. After the 20 to 30 rolls I have printed so far, that connection into the print head is getting g torn up. I noticed you have a different gear box than mine. Yours has a blue clip. Mine doesn't. Mine has a metal thing with teeth that bite into the tube. BTW, great video, as this is the 1st time I've ever seen or heard of how it is supposed to work.

    Mine didn't retract so that I could pull it out from the back. Had to take the tube out from the extruders end.

    Keep up the great content. I don't have a k1 but I think beginner steps such as this helps everyone interested in the k1. Will you be getting the k1 max when it releases?

    I ended up extruding the remaining piece after my K1C Max run out sensor paused because if the retract function was used it would not be at the point where I could pull it 😅. So I just melted the remaining and pushed the new PLA trough

    Do we have to unlock the extruder, I do mine without it and it works completely fine so far.

    • @Razer3DP
      @Razer3DP  Рік тому +1

      Yes, for loading the filament. If it works fine the way it is, keep using it. If it give you problem, they try unlocking it

    Mine used to extrude for the first few weeks. Now it is a POS... I can manually extrude with the latch open, but the extruder can't push PLA through even at 240 C. E-mailed support 2 days ago, but nothing yet.

    • @aeonjoey3d
      @aeonjoey3d 6 місяців тому

      You didn’t mention trying to unclog the extruder so if this happens with any 3D printer it’s the next thing to do- Creality has a tutorial video on UA-cam for all troubleshooting steps, including clearing the throat but since yours manually extrudes it’s for sure likely a bit of dried filament in the extruder. It comes apart very easily using the tools included.

    Mines won't extrude at all, just got it last night , never got it to print

      You opened the latched and pushed to get the Filament into the extruden, the closed the lock. Try that

    pain in butt to do all this once you have a bambu with AMS this seems to be a hassle.

      Bambu AMS for the win. I preload my top used colors and forget till I run I out.

      If you want to put up with all of the filiment wasted and slow print speed when doing multiple filiment changes. Buy a Bambu printer like I did.

    • @BreakingElegance
      @BreakingElegance 8 місяців тому

      @@tabhinton6678 Slow print speeds?
      your printer must be broken the only printer that can keep up with my P1P is my K1 Max with extreme tuning. try using another multi color printer and see how slow its going to be. multi material printing is always slow
