Thank you so much!!!!! 😍 it’s my favorite spot in the house now. Girl, it was super easy! I’m not handy, I’m not crafty, but I got this done (with some assistance) anyone can do it if I can!!!! Luckily Cory is really good at this stuff so when I needed help hanging and cutting he was there to do that with me!
There’s usually a “catch all” bag on the saw for catching the sawdust while cutting. Instead of using that we attach the shopvac to the area that the bag usually attaches. Whenever we go to make a cut we turn the shopvac on then make the cut and the vacuum sucks up the sawdust rather than it collecting in a bag
Great video! I appreciate how down-to-earth you guys are… I wish everyone spoke to the general public in simple terms like this! New subscriber starting today.
Soo..this project seemed easier to me..than the $50 same "white shelves" I saw on Amazon...thank you for advising that Lowes will cut the wood...(it took me a few employees to get though) I finally got my wood cut! I used the same kind of wood you used on your video (red oak)..and also bought the walnut "wood puddy"..but that was too dark for my walnut special stain..the puddy should match the color of the wood..not the stain. Going back for the wood color wood puddy..can't wait for my finishing product! I would add pics...but I can't see how. I can't seem to upload pics-dangit! It was awesome though ❤
Excellent job. I loved it. Sets the wall behind your couch off so well! Monica Rose sent me. She was right you did a fabulous job. The shelf is beautiful.
It was really easy! Waiting for stuff to dry was the hardest part! And if you already have stuff at home like stain, screws, it’s a fairly budget friendly project too! 🙌🏻👏🏻😍 thank you so much for your kind words! And thank you for watching!
My first wood project!! It was more work than I thought.(I don't have a nail gun-and got the wood cut at Lowes-which was a pain to get thembto do)...it turnes out beautifully though! Trying to upload pics to share. Thank you for the simple awesome tutorial ❤
Hello. Thanks for the video. There are quite a few out there but this one looks like the best for me. Quick question though - did you make your window shutters? I'm planning to make/buy some and was wondering if you have a video for them. Thanks!
Hi! Love this DIY, thank you! I'm working on my own shelf right now at 7 ft. Long. Have you noticed any bowing or sagging of the shelf using just finishing nails on the back? Many other tutorials recommend using screws on the back, but I'm not very good at it so this tutorial seems like a dream! Any advice is appreciated, thanks!
Hi! Thank you so much. I have not noticed any bowing at all. We used liquid nails and finishing nails to secure the wood together, but we secured it into the studs in the wall with screws in the back so that could be what helps keep it from bowing? I’m not sure, but ours has held up beautifully!
My materials were under $100 I think. I chose expensive wood though and that was the biggest cost. Definitely could’ve gone with common boards instead of the select boards that I chose
60” Long x 5” wide x 3.5H(in the back) 1.5H in the front we fit it to our wall behind our couch. You can of course change those up to meet your needs :) I didn’t want it super deep, just enough to put frames on it
Love the woodgrain on this little shelf. You did a great job with it bronte. Enjoying your videos. Love the diy ones❤

I’d like to know more about your saw and vacuum setup please

Hi! Thank you. No, these were already here when we bought the house. I believe they’re from a window treatment company that specializes in such things

May I ask which 2 in wood screws you used? I am building mine this weekend!! Thanks to you!
That is so exciting!!!!! I will look in the garage to see if I can find them :)
Thank you! I actually found some 😊
What kind of wood did you use? Pine, oak or poplar?
Red oak :)
Was it from Home Depot?
Yes. I think you can find it at Lowe’s as well. I’m almost positive that everything I used can be found at either store.
About how much did you spend on the material?
My materials were under $100 I think. I chose expensive wood though and that was the biggest cost. Definitely could’ve gone with common boards instead of the select boards that I chose
#vimpelamonica 😄 Oi
😘💗 thank you for watching!!! Monica is amazing!

is that music necessary? All it's doing is being distracting. This is the classic movie you know?
Is that comment necessary? I liked the music. Hope you have a wonderful day ❤️
