the fell apart if you looked them weird, had shitty differentials and transmissions, had huge V8s with 100hp on a good day and drank more gas than you could keep up filling them
@@notme1998 man, i know how american classics are like. But they were made in times when gas was worth less than water, so they could make 8.2L engines without any problems. I know that their V8s are worse than modern... shit, even 20yrs old 4-cyl's, but the way they feel and sound... if you have a ride in a car like this, you know for sure that the day is going well.
The seats are exactly what makes the interior special Last car I’ve seen comfy seats on was 1998 ZJ Jeep , never seen such a comfy seats on any car after
funny all of these cars that ive ever seen where sunk to the frame in a pasture, was surrounded by tall grass and filled with mouse nests its actually kinda nice to see one just, working
At first I thought you where wrong because 76 was the last year of the convertible, however I noticed the front bump extensions where black and the rear tail lights where actually in the fins, both of which where only on the 77-78. How is this eldorado a convertible? Did you convert this car into a convertible, or was this done by that one company in the 70s who converted the 77 -78 eldorados into convertibles with the extra parts.
@@E34Benzin your right, it does look better. Not sure why Cadillac changed it. Probably just trying to change the look to keep the car fresh. Not like most new cars where they hardly change anything through the entire generation.
As a vehicle collector myself. I have a few 1970s Cadillac Eldorados. I believe 2 or them are outside in rough shape. I do have one though, that is in new condition. 1977 Eldorado Biarritz.
I thought the same thing too, until I took a closer look at the video. if you read a comment I left awhile ago on this video I go into more detail. It actually might be a heavily modified one. The tail fins lights and front bumper extensions where exclusive to 77-78. However the last year the eldorado had a convertible option was in 76 (until the 80s when they brought it back). This car however is a convertible WITH the 77-78 tail lights and bumper extensions, leading me to believe it was converted into a convertible. There was actually a company back in the 70s that would modify the later years into convertibles with leftover parts.
Quality yes. Quality control? Nope. These were notoriously some of the worst assembled Cadillacs ever made. There are a multitude of stories of people who bought these new, and the doors would literally fall off, etc. GM was dealing with a lot of labor union strikes and such at the time. Honestly, the quality of interior materials and engineering of interior parts wasn't that great either.
This is what cars should look like.

The horn sounds like a freight train😎

I have the sister car to this one. Mine wasn't a Biarritz model. Yours is in great condition.
What a beauty I will make cars like this
Back then cars were wide as hell. 👍
This a real car, not piece of junks build today!!!!
Haha, as much as this is my dream car, these things were pretty awfully made 😂. It was the 70s, jankiness is part of the charm
The 50s where better for American cars
@@Zeoytaccountas someone who owns a 70s American car I 100% agree just cheap plastic and poor engineering it being a trans am makes up for it though

I was about to say that lad lol
I wonder the same thing. Also the steering wheel is the two spoke design from 77-78.
@@E34Benzin I didn't even know the 77/78 had a different steering wheel. Guess I learned something new today.
@@defcon1526 The previous ones have a three spoke design, which looks better imho.

Best of all ...,... It's a Cadillac!
I want it :(
You don’t have to step on the brake to start. This is prior to the fictitious Audi issue.

Wow ! Superb !
Nice. A real car.😊
Are those driving sneakers?😅
GIANT GREEN TRIANGLES
Auto indistruttibili😮
Excellent condition, but are we sure it’s a 78? I don’t think they made any convertibles that year.
🔥🔥🔥
That’s a 75 or a 76, not a 78, 76 was the last year they sold these Eldorado as a convertible and they offered this bodystyle in 75 and 76 only.
😍😍😍😍
cadillac my love
Why are lock the car if u can jump over the window inside 😅
