As a lighting engineer we very rarely even advise these in projects. Its called neon flex. Extremely costly wrt strip lights. You might as well just add aluminium profiles and diffuser to striplights, and it’ll still be cheaper than neon flex.
How does doing that come close to the same customization of these lights? Not bashing or anything just wondering what a cheaper alternative would be to get the same results.
@@AC-vt6oq Hey there! Great question. The only major disadvantage is its not having the convenient curved side bending option for special ‘curved’ paths. But the tape strip light would be better option here as it can be folded at desired locations to follow sharp turns and then getting an aluminium profile and diffuser set to be cut as per the path is also pretty easy at site. Its just that overall in commercial projects the required total length go well over 500metres thus making major impacts in overall budget.
@@kevinalex5263 oh okay that makes sense. I guess people don’t like this product because he was showcasing it in square like shapes around trim. I think these would work well for squiggly shape displays on a wall.
Sk6812 in 12v variant with a nice led diffuser and wled to control it. It is a bit more work but it looks way better and instead of just normal rgb you also have a normal white led integrated. The huge advantage is that it wont need nearly as much energy when you just need some normal light and it also looks way better when doing so
You can get light strips like this made by the company twinkly and they will be smart so you can make custom patterns and change the lights with your phone
Except Govee is affordable bc the app totally steals your data. From a cybersecurity expert, please only buy their products that have a remote and do not require their phone app.
Tbh every app steals your data. No matter what if you have a mobile device you are going to download an app that does this. Almost all apps steal your data and there is really no way around it.
Esp… raspberry pi. Ac to dc power converter. Wled program. Cheaper led strip lights with good colour from btf lighting. And you got yourself a cheap diy Phillips, Hugh smart light strip.
I bought cheap set from B&M for £15 it’s still running for over 6 years then I thought I buy another better set from GOVEE for my TV for £30 and after 6 months started having problem with it no buttons work and keeps flashing end up getting epileptic fit with it. Won’t let me reset it either
There is a better option between overpaying for govee and cheaping out on walmart level leds. Just buy a quality LED strip, they come in many forms; and a controller preloaded with WLED, which has far better effects. It will be much cheaper, and with better quality.
As long as you have to install an App and make an account with govee services to just control that strip (and govee products in general) and every remote control goes over API Services on your servers: No, definitely DO NOT buy govee products... Or just explain why i should need an account to external services to control my products ...

It’s also like 5 times the price of regular led strips
30 times better and prettier tho.
U can just buy some plastic thing that goes over them and gives the same kinda neon look
@@kauigg way too much additional work. I got the tuya outsmart rgbic
Pretty good value in my opinion (around 40 bucks)

Guys its just leds in a rubber tube
But lots of times brighter and just better
u can’t make 90• turn with them ⬜️
Seems like it does the corners very poorly, so no.
Yep. Perfect 90s look SO good.
Also it's so bulky! You can see the strip.....
its flexible
Aww
It’s meant to be put in a design on a wall

honestly i would get the regular LED strips bc i kinda like that classic look yk ❤
The thinner ones fit in better places and turn corners easier i would only buy the expensive smooth leds if i was rich
The new version has 3m tape all around on it already and it’s perfecr worth every penny!
All of the Govee lights are really good and nice
I have probably 5 of those govee lights (different ones)
(And the same one included)
Bro can i get that sticky thing not the led.I have an rgb .But unfortunately i tried everything to stick in the wall but failed .Bro pls help
Whats the product name? Not the company, but for the gaming ones
i would use govee glide around the mirror
