Hmm not really. Hundreds of illegal immigrants enter the UK every day from Africa, Pakistan and Indian. The housing market cannot withstand this pressure and the UK government has made it very clear it prefers to house illegal immigrants over native Brits. Developers purchasing historic properties without any pushback is very much an international phenomenon, not a British one....
Yeah someone talking out of their arse. If it's an insurance scam it's brainless and is likely to result in prosecution and massive debt rather than a payout. It's much more likely to have been bought by a dodgy developer. The land is worth more than the building.
Everything of value was removed from the pub several days in advance. The fact that the digger had been hired a week and a half before and was behind the rubble blocking the access for emergency vehicles was suspect. The Barstewards that burnt this beloved building to the ground, will probably get a slap on the wrists and a paltry fine. They were both photographed, sunning themselves in Corfu shortly afterwards. I won't go into the abusive language used by both of them. Nor will I cast anything their way as to how they both look on social media. And let's not forget, this isn't the first time this couple have purchased a property to have it mysteriously burn down. The building won't ever be rebuilt, sadly. It'll go the same way as a lot of buildings in this country, as just a memory.
It's a shame the British people don't press their councils as to why these historic buildings can't be restored, or withhold council tax to achieve results.

Something most news reports are not mentioning: The pub was broken into it, whilst it was a working business, and vandalised it. Mrs Taylor, 34, is married to the plant hire boss, Adam Taylor, who is a shareholder and former director of Himley Environmental Ltd, which runs a landfill site next to the pub. Would not be the smartest of developers, given that the reason the pub was crooked in the first place is that the site is littered with mine shafts.

It sank due to its foundation. Nothing to do with cracks
It suposidly sunk due to mining however pictures from the 1800's shows water on that side of the building like a river or a pond
Mining subsidence clearly. The fact it has had much work done to it over the years is why you can't see cracks.
