I think another good tip is starting on the smaller bikes. When I started I went straight to the 450 on forest and it was so bad. Then I went to the 250f and tried putting in a hot lap on every stock motocross track and worked on grinding that time down every time I played. That helped me a lot. Now I’ve got 250 hours in on the game and i don’t think I’ll ever stop playing it.
Honestly really appreciated this, got the game today and played like 4 hours straight. Loving it. Thanks for the tips dude, would love to see more mx bikes content
I only have 13 hours on this game but learned yesterday how to take a clean lap around forest, it felt so good, I can’t wait to throw my bike around in real races one day
You’ll get there man! Racing online is so much fun once you get away from the first turn carnage! If you survive through that you’re looking at atleast a top 10 if you don’t go down yourself!
I learned to play this game in 3rd person and then dabbled with 1st person a bit. I find it's a lot easier to corner and find your braking points in 1st person, but hitting jumps, pulling cool whips, and freestyle tricks is so much easier and awesome looking in 3rd. I tried strictly doing 1st person for a bit when I was figuring the game out, but it just made things a lot harder for me. I think tip number 3 is definitely a subjective thing.
I just finally gave Dynamic 1st a try about 2 weeks ago after around 200 hours of strictly playing 3rd person, and my riding has improved more in this short period than the last 2 hours. Give it a try for a while and you'll understand
@@hunterjames8556 imo 3rd person is important for the first week or so, for me it was important to se how the bike reacted with things like braking bumps standing and sitting corner speed breaking traction etc. First person it's hard to tell what my back end is doing without feeling it in real life (I steer with the rear alot) after the first 20 or so hours transitioning to dynamic helped me plop into ruts and dial in my leaning. @@tylermcguyrt5207 Settings are VERY important! I did make a video on my settings (there very outdated compared to what I run now, but a decent base to build on) 250s are king when learning also!
I always recommend, if your new, get on the practice track with 125 or 150, something thats very easy to control and not easy to flip, and start ripping laps, staying in 2nd and 3rd, and go from there. slowly start adjusting your controls, turning off assists, and you'll be cruising at top speed around the track in about a session. The hardest part is memorizing all the controls like rider lean and dapping and learning how to throttle properly through jumps/rhythm. I agree about sitting down for the start, it just makes things less complicated for a bit and you are more stable sitting. I disagree about 3rd person though. I play in first person most the time but if im struggling with something, like in the beginning, 3rd person makes learning when to lean for jumps so much easier because its easier to see whats going on with the rider, but turns are easier in first person.
I got this game in Jan 2021, it was brutal learning at first, but it's fun as heck once you start getting faster, and then you start entering online races, then you win some races and then 3 or 4 months later you're finally a good rider. But if you want to be elite, it's going to take you probably a year or more. The bike physics are really super amazing compared to other Motocross games. There are some problems they need to fix when the bike is going slow or when you crash, hopefully they iron those out soon. But yeah, this is not some arcade motocross game where you can load it up and in 1 hour be a stud, you're not going to case jumps and hold on and continue racing, you will crash. So if I may, I'm going to offer some of my own tips for beginners I wish I knew. #1 Go easy on the throttle. Previous games you can just gun it and you stay on the bike. In this game, when just hammer the throttle in certain situations, you'll fall off the bike. So just feather your throttle some, don't always just go 100% full throttle. #2 Do some laps on your own, but then go online and do practice sessions online and after doing some laps, go into the camera and spectate and watch other riders, you'll pick up some key tips on how better riders are doing certain sections. You can also just pull your bike off to the side and just watch riders do that section you are at. It really is helpful to watch better riders, how they angle their bikes, their speed, their lines, etc. #3 Don't start out using 450's or anything really big. Stay at 250's or under, for the first 3 weeks or so. I agree with Jack, stick to these tracks at first (Forest, Walnut, Practice Track, Winchester, MXBC Compound, Paleta V2). They're big and flowy and less technical. But I only say that if you're going at a chill speed. All of these tracks can present challenges when you start getting faster.
I would like to see a video on bike setups for different tracks. Setting up a suspension for hard bumpy tracks (Locket) and big smooth tracks (Forest). I think there are alot of us advanced but not elite riders out there who would like some useful info on that.
im honestly surprised on how much this helped. after this video i went on a 250cc and on "practice track" and in the first five laps i set a pretty good 2:35 lap time. Thank you so much.
The learning curve doesn’t seem too far away from what the real thing is like. I’m curious to try it out but I’m not sure if I want to put all the time in.
It seems bad, but it’s not the way it used to be! Updates have improved the physics and new mod creators bike packs have really brought a new dynamic to this game!
I came from playing a couple mins of mx sim, I steer by having the stick at the bottom and doing small smooth inputs, I pretty much picked it up instantly
broooo how can i open the settings during the game cause i am trying to find my perfect stick settings and i always mave to go back tu the menu, is there some kind of overlay like in acetto corsa with content manager
You can only view settings at the pit which is kind of annoying! I wish you could just adjust them while on track… would make it so much easier for tweaking!
One thing I'd say is most important oem bikes than initial set up like lean breaks simulation settings and bike lock I think that stops new people from playing the most
The game has definitely came a LONGGGG way since this video. Countless physics updates have improved the gameplay and learning curve immensely! Glad you're enjoying it! :)

So the game has mods! So “technically” any map is included as long as you get the mod. (They’re all free) If you need help learning how to mod I have a video for that!
No! You don’t need supercross. Honestly the best supercross learning tracks are the default in games ones anyway; (both of the Nevadas). Supercross is such a big jump for beginners all it usually does is upset them and make them want to give up.
i started playing the demo yesterday and im insane compared to what you are saying, and i just put on the show biker stand or how ever u say it and it says he stands all the time, is it normal? how can i avoid that
I'm probably weird for it since you mention most people wanna do supercross first, but I prefer Nationals in games as I am a big fan of the outdoors and nature IRL and I love outside tracks in games, as it mixes my outdoor love with, in my opinion, what feels like a bigger sense of speed and adventure. If I ever get into motocross in real life, I might honestly start and stay outdoors. I don't have much interest in stadiums outside of it being needed to complete the motocross video games.
Hey man everyones different! Whatever you prefer! Nationals are definitely a WAY better option for new players; since they don't have all of the sharp 180 turns and whoops....etc!
i might get this game it is my 1st bike game in a long time lol. but i love simulation games and racing games and i like dirt bikes want one when im moving out and have a job.

when i started i played for 30 mins and the game stopped working the bike would not work i could only lean but it would work on keybored and when i connected my ps5 controller back to my ps5 everything worked so mx bikes isnt frustrating cuz of the difficulty its because of the fact the game doesn't work
I have a question if anybody can answer. So I'm looking at getting this game, and am wondering if there is a delay on turning and slowness to the control of the bike like games such as MXGP. Just wanted to know.
I know what you mean. The milestone delay. Haha. No it doesn’t have that but honestly even if you didn’t like the game you can just refund it! Just make sure you play with good settings before you toss in the towel!
@@jackvl1039 thank you! I have always wanted either mx sim or this, so I’m pretty sure this is the better choice😂 I am pretty sure that I know not to just get the game and go ham, because I have heard that’s how most people quit.
Try dropping the linearity down to maybe 70-80%... makes it less sensitive at center position but more at full position! Or/and try adjusting gain down a little bit, try 80-90%... i think now you wont have the full movement, so you wont fall over immediately when you turn.
It's not that the games hard for me I'm fine when I'm moving but once the bike comes to a near stop in a tight corner the thing has a spaz attack and that's what I'm trying to figure out Edit: k i took you advise and its working so far
It’s definitely tough! Maybe not as tough as sim (sims definitely the hardest of them all) BUT this game pulls in more people from mx vs atv, mxgp…etc.
not trying to bash on this list but the only thing that id say makes sense is the avoiding supercross and taking it slow. i get its a opinion based video and everyone has their own riding styles so not trying to say im right and your wrong but i just dont wanna see people mislead. 1. sitting everywhere on smooth tracks is okay i guess but id reccommend standing a much as possible especially in corners it helps not to front tuck. 2. play whatever view you want, im a 3rd person player and its not nearly as bad as you make it out to be i can understand why you say play fp becasuse it is so much easier but if youre like me i wanna see the whips and scrubs and also i personally found it was easier to see what the bike was doing when riding so if i fell i knew why i fell and what not to do vs fp not being able to see why i crashed. but yea fp is so much easier at first so i can understand why as a beginner itd be appealing. the games physics are ass at times regardless of pov but definently harder in 3rd
I respect what your saying, but a couple things you have to realize are; 1) there have been MANY changes to the game now in terms of physics. (Since this video was made) 2) after having a substantial amount of play time on this game now, I honestly feel these are still fantastic tips for someone coming straight from an arcade game (like MX vs ATV or MXGP).

@@jackvl1039 thank you i figured it out its cuz i had trigger stoppers
This vid helped me before watching it I was on 289hrs now I'm on 302hrs and I'm alot better
Glad to hear homie!
What are you driving like that, do you have a steering wheel or something?
Controller!
I am Having Alot of trouble with air control
Just practice my guy!
i started playing the demo yesterday and im insane compared to what you are saying, and i just put on the show biker stand or how ever u say it and it says he stands all the time, is it normal? how can i avoid that
and if you have a discord server or smthng so i can proof
Hmmm so your saying your guy will not sit down?
@@jackvl1039 exacly
I'm probably weird for it since you mention most people wanna do supercross first, but I prefer Nationals in games as I am a big fan of the outdoors and nature IRL and I love outside tracks in games, as it mixes my outdoor love with, in my opinion, what feels like a bigger sense of speed and adventure.
If I ever get into motocross in real life, I might honestly start and stay outdoors.
I don't have much interest in stadiums outside of it being needed to complete the motocross video games.
Hey man everyones different! Whatever you prefer! Nationals are definitely a WAY better option for new players; since they don't have all of the sharp 180 turns and whoops....etc!
how do i start my bike on keyboard?
i just started
I’m not sure man! I use nothing but controller. Keyboard would be a nightmare on this game! xD
i cant figure out the mods. I can download the maps but not the bikes
hey how do i start driving? it wont let me put in gear
Make sure you’re not on manual gearbox and make sure your game pad is connected
Would love to know your suspension setups bro. Your landings seem super smooth.
Yeah dude for sure I’m planning on making one today or tomorrow!
Is it better on controller or keyboard
Controller man I don’t know if it’s physically possible to play on a keyboard haha
@@jackvl1039 alright lol, I figured as much
Why no on wili?
i might get this game it is my 1st bike game in a long time lol. but i love simulation games and racing games and i like dirt bikes want one when im moving out and have a job.
Great game dude, definitely worth it! Just keeps growing and growing! The game just feels so real its unbelievable!
@@jackvl1039 i can renember when i 1st started to sim race were i just keept on crashing it would probabbly be like that and i diddnt give up. the only time i raged is when people crash into me or do somthing stupid lol
What button on controller makes you sit down and stand up?
You can route it to whatever you want, mine is “Y”
@@jackvl1039 okay, thanks
Hey dude nice vid! I have a question about the steering because if i steer i almost doesnt steer
That could be a few things! I have a video on my settings ... (It is alittle out of date with my current settings) but very close still. Instead of us guessing what it is haha I would just suggest watching that. That way you will match all of my settings! Cheers!
How do you corner so good?
I’m a lot better now than I am in this! Just practice my guy, use the transmission to your advantage!
Just letting you know , the reason your crf graphics kit doesn't work is because you haven't downloaded the 2021 crf model swap yet , something you should definitely do
I think it was because I was trying to put it on my 250 not my 450! I can’t remember but thanks!
@@jackvl1039 you ever gonna race pdmx or the aeriel series?
Maybe If I start to get good! I’m getting there little by little! Haha if I do I’ll definitely make videos!
@@jackvl1039 sick man , i just came 4th overall today at lommel in pdmx and stoked about it lol , qualified 8th with a 1:59.4 tho
Dang dude nice!! We’ll have to link up and play some time ... the thing about me is, I’m a hit or miss haha one night I feel good, the next I’m all over the place looping it.
Considering about getting this game, keep up the content dude!! Subbed👍
Thanks my guy appreciate it!
how do you get new bikes
Just go to the mx-bmods.com!
How do you get the full game on pc
Steam!
how do you download and install jerseys?
I have a video showing how to install all the mods! (Jerseys, bike graphics, maps ...etc) as for custom jerseys you need to make those yourself! Hope this helps!
the "Start out sitting down" tip is the answer for me lol
Haha yeah man that helped me a lot as well!
Should I use keyboard or controller?
Just in case you didn’t see my other comment controller! Hahaha
How did you got that camera angle?
In turns my camera is strange and I keep fall
Their are two 1st person camera angles, I use the very first one of the two!
How do I move
how to seat down on pad ?
Whatever you choose to route it to!
@@jackvl1039 okki thank you
when i started i played for 30 mins and the game stopped working the bike would not work i could only lean but it would work on keybored and when i connected my ps5 controller back to my ps5 everything worked so mx bikes isnt frustrating cuz of the difficulty its because of the fact the game doesn't work
Ur settings were prob wrong, you prob didn't pull ur clutch in or u weren't in neutral
I have always wanted either mx sim or this, so I’m pretty sure this is the better choice😂 I am pretty sure that I know not to just get the game and go ham, because I have heard that’s how most people quit.
can i change the sensitivity?
You might be able to honeslty I’m not sure! Sorry!
Try dropping the linearity down to maybe 70-80%... makes it less sensitive at center position but more at full position!
Or/and try adjusting gain down a little bit, try 80-90%... i think now you wont have the full movement, so you wont fall over immediately when you turn.
What is the map
How do you get bikes like that
there is an oem pack of a mod website
UNDERATED!!! Your such a dope youtuber man
Thanks man! Appreciate it!
i have 16 hours on this game and I am not the best but I can go around the walnut trac and throw decent whips
That’s what it’s all about dude! Having fun!
It's not that the games hard for me I'm fine when I'm moving but once the bike comes to a near stop in a tight corner the thing has a spaz attack and that's what I'm trying to figure out
Edit: k i took you advise and its working so far
Paleta v1 or v2 is super good to learn and it is fun.
I would get another bike mod but after all of my 7 tries and 6 tutorials I just don’t know how to download bikes
Still having trouble?
What do you play on
I play on a pc! All of my specs are in my bio!
Hope I can get the hang of this. It’s the hardest game I’ve had to Learn. Crazy hard
(Since this video was made) 2) after having a substantial amount of play time on this game now, I honestly feel these are still fantastic tips for someone coming straight from an arcade game (like MX vs ATV or MXGP).
hey, this game looks so great, but im having an issue. my controller doesnt seem to work with the game. i have an xb1 controller, and it just doesnt work. could you maybe help me out?
the issue im having is that when i rebind my controls, it shows up as space, s, etc
@@cambartelmey7079 I'm not completely sure man, all I can say is to make sure your controller is synced with your computer! Or make sure you have the controller option selected! Sorry!
@@jackvl1039 nah you're all good man, I appreciate it!
@@cambartelmey7079 did you end up figuring it out? If you havent you gotta go into controller configuration on the game page and change the preset controls to gamepad or something like it. It's probably set as keyboard controls, for games that dont have controller support.
@@Omgben777 oh ok, I haven't touched the game since ngl. I'll hop on at some point this week and do that. I've been playing Supercross 4
i know this isnt really related but, when i try to install something like a new track, it just doesnt work. Ill put the file in the right places and even restart my game but it just doesnt pop up in my map list :(
I just made a video about mods! Hope that helps!
which controller do you use?
Xbox one!
And I got a Microsoft USB adapter so I can play wirelessly haven’t had a single problem! *knock on wood*
@@jackvl1039 okey thx!
even when I take it slow I still crash in corners. it just loops out every single time
Maybe try adjusting your gain, and messing with other controls! Other that that just take it smooth and practice!
I almost returned it after 30 minutes. Then I saw people riding like they were on rails, so i was like ok lets do this. Now im at 3 hours and successfully did a run without crashing lol
Only gets better the better you get man! Stick with it!
'96 Cr250? Buying this game, riiiight noooow. Cheers!
First time so exited… Proceeds to almost trow pc true window
Brought it yesterday coming from super cross and god dam it’s hard but I’m getting there lol
Keep playing man I was awful whenever I first started this game. Even in the video I’m awful compared to where I am now haha
The leaning forward and backward is the one the i cant understand😅
bro how is your bike not going insane while turning? mine goes crazily insane after a small turn and i keep wrecking. (i use a keyboard to play mx bikes)
dang man haha I play on controller so I'm not entirely sure what exactly to tell you haha. I'm just impressed you can even make it around the track on keyboard honestly.
@@jackvl1039 so i actually found a stable bike and i drive even better now instead of crashing
Anyone know the ps5 controller controls?
