Animal Kingdom Lodge has the BEST food on Disney property. It's also a relaxing resort.
I couldn't not figure out why folks loved those Zebra Domes until we went there for dinner and I had to get them. I still think about them!

We have stayed there a few times and I never wanted to go to the parks- so much to do at resort. It was pre pandemic and there was cooking class, wine tasting, resort tours, lectures, arts and crafts and just wonderful places to sit and relax. The pools are great. Wonderful resort
Never stayed here but a Savannah view Room is on my bucket list.
Rent dvc points its way cheaper. It was totally worth it.
Savanna view rooms r So Beautiful!!! Especially at Sunset, just relaxing on balcony to watch animals and enjoy a Drink or Coffee
Love Animal Kingdom Lodge!!! The rooms, the theming, the restaurants...just fantastic! Our family of 4 stayed here in 2019 & would love to stay there again....after we've tried out some other deluxe resort hotels.
AKL looks beautiful! its on my list to stay at for a while and I may have to just pull the trigger for next trip!

We stayed at AKL for our Honeymoon and had an Amazing. Booked Savanah and got surprise upgrade to CLUB LEVEL.
We love AKL but unless you pay for a Savannah room you just might get a parking lot view. If you are lucky, you will get a partial Savannah view but it's not worth the price for a standard for us to take that chance. I was lucky one year and had a studio booked (through Disney not DVC member) and got upgraded for only $50 more per night to a one bedroom. Since I was with my son and his wife, that upgrade was worth it. It was a standard 1 bedroom but we got lucky and had a view of what is called the "people pens" and not considered a Savannah view since the pens are there. We were on a higher floor so the pens were no big deal and blocked nothing. That was all pure luck though, I'll admit getting up in the morning and making a cup of coffee, sitting on the balcony and watching the animals was great. I actually had a chance for my upcoming Dec. trip to get a standard room at AKL for just about the same (maybe $25 a night more) than a room at CSR. I chose CSR though because it wasn't worth it for me to risk a parking lot view.
I booked my stay at All-Star Movies because of the exact reason that Quincy said. I only need a clean room, and a pool and I'm good. Quite honestly, I'm in Walt Disney World. I'm going to be in the parks most of the day.
I feel Same way. I love the Nicer hotels but am on a Budget. I can visit other resorts for Dining. I Love BOMA and JIKO at AKL.
@@bridgetclement2968 Exactly. I just went to the nicer hotels for Dining, and just to look around. I was on a strict budget, and the value resorts have most of the same perks as the nicer hotels.
@peggyknecht5551 For me as long as there is a Pool and Playground for my Son It's perfect. I love Pool and Arcade. Sure I would prefer Pool with Slide but A Pool is a Pool.
@peggyknecht5551 I stayed at AKL for my Honeymoon. It was Magical until we had to Leave cause of my Hubby having GALLSTONES.
I can’t wait 4 more months until we stay in the 1 bedroom savanna view 😍🥰

We’ve decided to stay for a night before a cruise on the Wish. We won’t get in until 5 and will leave early the next morning but hopefully our grandsons will enjoy it! Had hoped to book the Starlight safari but unfortunately it has no availability.
Did not know parking was free at hotel and the parks. That saves a chunk of change if renting car and staying a week
U get a Pass for Rental Car at Check in. One of my Favorite perks of staying on Property
In your experience, how busy is the bus system at this hotel? With buses coming every 15-20 mins, does the bus always get full and you’re possibly waiting another 15-20 mins? Do they run more in the morning to allot for the magic hour rush? And can you walk from the hotel to the AK park? Or bus only?
Question guys- is it worth the Savannah view if you're gonna be at the parks all day anyways?
When I have more time this evening I'm going to try to do a price comparison between a week at the AK Lodge in a savanna view room plus park tickets vs. the cost of a week long actual African safari including air fare. I have a suspicion the latter will be less.
If you're getting park tickets to get into the parks, note that there are no parks or rides on an African safari. Many accommodations on African safaris are also substandard compared to Disney.
@@vincent412l7 They're very different vacation types, my comparison is basically a sardonic comment on how insanely expensive Disney has gotten.
I've heard that many safari accommodations are quite luxurious.
